Sure, in game balance terms, it is the devs preventing them from being used in these missions to add challenge. But in ingame immersion terms, it is just totally natural and logical that you cant fire torpedoes in the air.
Well, they still haven't figured out that being farther away from a target makes Psi-attacks less effective. It gets amped up by the amount of tiles divided by half.
But how can they "figure it out" though, if the game doesnt mention that ANYWHERE? I mean, as much as i love classic games, sometimes they really have a lot of hidden mechanic bullshit they never bother explaining to the player. Even just a simple ingame "lore" description on the mind probe device mentioning "Effectiveness decreases with range" would be enough. But noooooope, game doesnt care to tell the player. So you really cant fault them for not knowing it. Its not the same thing as Sips failing to read "PRESS E TO OPEN DOOR" in his lets plays :P That kinda stuff is the fault of the player, not the game.
Baleur TFTD did have a very rushed development cycle. Despite being the better game, it does need some work, it’d be cool if OpenXCOM improved things like this.

Stopped exercising, just ate more fat (drank more yoghurts, ate more stuff), just normal life carrying grocery bags. The key to what you mentioned is that you ate more (fat is irrelevant, to a degree, overall calorie intake is what really matters). If you're a thinner guy, like Lewis, any training you should be doing is weight training or at least circuit training with body weight. In addition to such, you'll have to work your calories up to supply your newly existing muscles. Just think of the logic, you eat what you currently eat to maintain your current physique, if you eat the same and work out, you won't gain any muscles as your typical calorie intake isn't enough to maintain any more than your original physique. I mention only doing weight training or circuits training because cardio is typically horrible for skinny dudes. Lewis's trainer seems to be applying a "shotgun approach" to training, where he gives most of his clients the same program, as it's much easier and he probably gets paid all the same per client. Cardio is plenty necessary for endurance, but pure cardio (eg treadmill, even biking or ellipse or whatever it is) is more for losing weight. For you, it just effectively increases that calorie number that you have to meet to maintain or gain muscle. That's why I suggest circuit training with body weight (or just high rep training with low rest time, doing super sets, etc), since it still encourages muscle and bodily endurance, but still focuses more on building muscle, so it's not just calories going entirely to waste (so you might still have to eat more, but at least it'll be attributing to your muscles instead of nothing, which is what convenitial cardio does, just burns calories for effectively no benefit). Im not necessarily pro, I trained a couple clients before and used quite a cookie cutter approach, initially.. but I suppose that'd make me that much more experienced in how that just doesn't work. I, for example, am a weirdo case and actually needed to lose weight more than anything. I had to figure out an unconventional way to do it. It just comes down to finding the right thing that works for you, but typically, with skinnier guys, more calories and less cardio typically helps. Also, try to make sure those calories are clean (so no buffing that calorie count up with McDonalds!). Also also, all of your calories don't need to be protein, that's mostly bullshit; definitely get a decent bit more when working out, but none of this absurd "1gram per kg of bodyweight" or whatever, that just encourages protein shake sales. xP Also, get friggen proper sleep! That's actually a problem I have to fix, too (along with many others, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!). Good sleep helps hormone production (yanno, like testosterone, that stuff that helps you build muscles A LOT), stimulates proper muscle recovery, and encourages a better mindset, which also helps! Hopefully that helped someone and maybe gets you back into working out! You got dis!
