Kevin Neal, you are correct about the abundance of young talent today. This renaissance of young women singers started in 2010 with Jackie Evancho. Since then we were introduced to Laura of course, but also the likes Grace Vanderwaal, Anjelica Hale, Angelina Jordan, Darci Lynne Farmer, Amira Willighagen and most recently Kaylee Rogers. Plus so many more. And not just singers but many great young female musicians. Alma Deutscher, Emily Bear and a very young violinist, Karolina Protsenko. I wish I was about 40 years younger so I could see them reach their full potential. But I will enjoy them as long as the Good Lord is willing.

I love it when Laura sings songs like this. You can actually hear what her true voice sounds like without the overwhelming vibrato she seems to use in her operatic songs.
Her voice is just plain gorgeous here, wow, and such good control.
Her voice is fine singing operatic as well, the only place she ever exhibits any need for improvement is perhaps having enough reserve for longer holds, many of the public appearances i have seen her do seem to fail her slightly with acoustic and/or recording quality, this performance here seems to be a somewhat better setting and does her some justice.
Where Laura shines without question is her passionate delivery of song and her robust deep texture of sound in Mezzo and Soprano ranges, as well as her powerful projection which is in her age group pretty much hers alone and unmatched.
She has for 4 years to my ears been working with diligence to strike harmony with and control of that awesome power in her voice box, she has come a long way, i look forward to the future, operatic style or otherwise.^^
