Also my other favorite was when they were about to enter his lair and Moana says to herself “the ocean chose you for a reason”. Maui is like “if you start singing, I’m gonna throw up”
Great reaction video! I adore this movie. The first time I watched it, I wondered why the grandmother seem to die so quickly as soon as she set Moana on her path, but it occurred to me on a second watching... she gave Moana the lifegiving heart that she'd been keeping safe all those years. There were some prior hints that she was sick so when she handed Moana the heart, she was giving up the very thing keeping her alive. And I'm certain she knew exactly what was going to happen, because she made a point to mention coming back as a stingray. She was already planning for her death and how she was going to continue to act as a guide for Moana. On a side note, I'm SO happy to find someone else who didn't like "Shiny." While I don't despise the song itself entirely, I didn't find it an especially compelling villain song. It came right the eff out of nowhere and was very jarring stylistically for the movie it was in. For people who love it, cool, not shaming them and I do understand why, but it just wasn't personally my cup of tea.

Bro when the movie The Blair witch project came out I was going out of town with some friends and I was kind of nervous about everything being ready I didn't sleep the night before so I was like before I go meet them I kind of want to see this movie I f****** fell asleep in the theater you know how loud movie theaters are and that's a scary movie set in my general area cuz I'm from Maryland
There should also be a live-action movie released in June of 2025, or 2026 I believe? But the live-action one is going to come out pretty soon of Moana. ❤❤❤

Anyone notice Disney slipping a Aladin reference and no I'm not talking about the lamp if you've seen Aladin you know that the gods describe him as "The diamond in the ruff" and during tomotoas song he says "I'm like a diamond in the ruff " or something along those lines I would assume this mean he believes he's more of a gem then a hidden one Aladin someone spectacular hidden in poverty it's likely the diamond in the ruff is more then just Aladin rather a specific person chosen every 100 years and that would explain why monsters would be aware of the concept 😮
Mawii is an imortal demi-god being with normal people on a regular basis, probably isn't a good idea. How long before they start worshipping him like he was Tafiti? Would them strait worshipping him and building temples to him turn his head to the point he wants the heart again because he thinks he can actually control its powers this time? I know it’s super deep and all but I’m a realist (I think? Idk, people called me that a few times) her turning into a manta ray would be hella inconvenient… like the struggle of finding food and surviving all the monsters/regular predators in the ocean.
I’m Hawaiian and we have the same beliefs here where our loved ones will turn into Aumakua (family guardians/ spirit guides) when they pass away. I think it’s more in a spiritual sense that the loved one that passes will come to visit in whatever form like a manta ray for example but they can depart back to the spirit realm. It’s kind of a physical reminder for the loved ones of the living to know that the deceased will always be with them even in death 😊

I love Moana's development, but Maui's personal growth was amazing. From being such a vain, self-absorbed, borderline narcissistic demigod to becoming a kind-hearted and loving friend and mentor is awesome, plus hearing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson sing is pretty damn badass. I love how they cast Nicole Scherzinger (lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls) as Moana's mother.
About a week or two ago, Disney did formally announce a sequel to release this year. Problem is that they haven’t produced it yet so I’m not sure how that’s supposed to work
