In stormbringer, Dazai was ordered to basically stop verlaine from destroying the city by Mori. But he choice to give Chuuya the choice to either fight Verlaine and end up saving the city or not. He did not care about saving the city, even if it was an order from Mori. He LITERALLY choice Chuuya over the city.
The way he wasn't even going to try and save the city but then Mori said that Chuuya would end up dying if he did and he was like "well shit gotta get to work" 😭❤
