Hi Ray. I just found you and I just subscribed. Like this table you built. The center bar supports are called Joist hangers. I am sure you have realized that by now. But for those new, this will help. Also, to be more effective. I would drill a hole through the hangers and the stringer ends then you can stick a bolt through. To help prevent table collapse if someone leaned on the end of the table.
What's a good idea for adding a bolt it's just that the people that I made it for didn't want to have a lot of extra stuff to carry I made them like 15 of these tables they didn't want to have a bunch of things to do so it was just what I came up with but thank you for the subscription and the suggestion and thanks for watching
I built two of your farm tables and they turned out GREAT. I want to build some folding benches for them now. Have you done anything like that / have plans?
Thanks for watching. I'm glad to hear It. I think I made those 40 inches wide by 8 foot long. But if you have any problems, message me on here in. Good luck One thing I made sure to do is use calls to try to keep the tables flat as possible.
Awesome table mate. Great video! I’ve been asked to make a folding table so just doing a little research. If this was scaled up to 10ft long do you think the same design will work?
I was thinking of trying with a 1" thick table top to lighten up and make it easier to move. Do you think it would be thick enough for the pocket hole screws to grab?
thanks for the video! quick question: once the legs are open and the table is standing, does the weight of the table rest on the bolts as opposed to vertical pressure straight on the legs? if so, is the table strong enough? thanks!
Thanks for watching 🙂 yes the table rest on the bolts and I think it is OK I made 20 of them for a wedding rental company it was a couple of years and no problem
If you take your time I don't think you need a biscuit Joiner just need more clamps on the ends and do smaller sections You might have a little bit more sandine but I think it's doable and you can buy your wood pretty flat without a planner Plus if you tell people it is a farm table it's supposed to have defects hahaha
You dont have to have either one of those to build a nice table like this. Instead of biscuits, you could just drill holes and use wood dowels, or just glue and clamp the boards together
I'm guessing the back of the leg is hitting the stretcher if this is so you can take it off and shave it down on the table. So I'll just a little bit I've done that before. And also another way is to make the whole bigger. So the bolt has some room to slide around when you rotate it. Hopefully this will help.
@@CraftedbyRay from your video those are not carriage bolts but rather plain full thread bolts! They didn't appear to be true carriage bolts so I blew up that frame 500% and they are in fact just bolts.
That’s the table I’ve been looking to build, thanks!
Your welcome 😊
Damn! That is bad ass! I don't even need one and I want to make one! Awesome build!
Thanks for watching 🙂
Beautiful table!
Thanks for watching
Nice job and that cross piece underneath is a stretcher
Thanks 😊
Good video and job looks great enjoyed it
Thank you 😊

ALL THE WAY FROM MALTA TNS KING
Hello
Thanks for that I was looking to make fold out legs for grandson model train I think I can make something like that work. A little smaller scale.
You're welcome 😊 I am glad my videos can help
You made that table look simple. How about a part 2 of a table exploding?
Thanks! that wood be funny 🤣

I'm glad to hear that. No I haven't tried any benches yet, but thank you so much. It's nice to hear that people are making the stuff that I make.
I'm looking to build 10 of these - any pointers or measurements? looking to do 8' longs.
Thanks for the great video

Do you have a built plans? Great video!
No sorry, I don't know how to do that yet but thanks for watching 🙂
@@CraftedbyRayDid you ever make plans for this?

Yes I've made a bunch of these this is a 6' one I usually make them 8'
Thanks for watching 🙂
Legend! Thanks

Yes, one inch material would work. Just make sure you set your jig to the right depth.

Do you have a cost breakdown? I tried looking in the comments for it. Lol.
At the time it cost me about $80 dollars to make
This time I will do it manually with the help of Woodglut designs.
Thanks, I will check it out
I would love to build a table like this but I don’t have a biscuit joiner or planner.

I see these Tables, but no one ever weighs them.. What did this table weigh?
That is funny 😆 I don't know but it is heavy
Is there anyway I can get a list of material and measurements of the cuts needed
Yes, I will try to remember all that i used when I got off work today 😅
@@CraftedbyRay thank u sir
I could use some help on the measurements for the bolt holes. I’m building one and put the hole in the wrong spot and the leg won’t fully open.

What bolts did you use on the legs so they can move?
5/8 carriage bolts I like using carriage bolts because the square is kind of like a good counter sink And stops it from rotating

Hello, any chance you have plans you would sell?
Sorry I never made plans for this project
Those metal things are called joist hangers!
Thanks 😊
@CraftedbyRay No, thank you! I just built those legs you designed on a miniature skate park that I just built! You can see it on my page.
That is awesome I will subscribe and check it out
Do you sell the tables?
I did that one it was for a friend
What’s the measurements please
It was 6 feet long by 42 wide and 36 inches tall
The word is stretcher
Thanks 😊
