S1 E3 First time crossing the Sarnia / Port Huron Border with an RV

- In this episode, I cross over into the US with a travel trailer in tow. Though I am familiar with this border crossing, I had never done so with an RV, and was a bit anxious about the process. Find out how the crossing went, and my first night on the road.

- iPhone 14 Pro
- DJI OSMO Action
- GoPro Hero 8 Black

Awesome. Few years ago I drove from Arizona all the may to Massachusetts and back to Ohio, and in another trip, drove from Arizona to SanFrnacisco and back on new years. Your videos are making me nostalgic. You chose the best month of the year for your adventure which is great, looking forward to the fall colors in Michigan etc, esp. on your way back, I hope fall colors will be at its peak then :) By the way, the best fall colors will be found in New England.....

Asher, usually the side view moves so fast, it does not look very good on video, unless you are in a vast open space. I will try it when we reach more open vistas out West 👍🏼

Thanks Absar, glad you are enjoying it. Illinois and Missouri are a bit uneventful, but then we will cross over to New Mexico and it gets very scenic from there on
I'm in no position at all to let you know what to carry or not (or don't know what you already have), however I'm just feeling compelled to jot down few items for your safety and convenience during your trip.
- Flashlight
- Headlamp
- Extra cable ties (different lengths)
- Multi-tool (like Swiss army knife)
- Satellite Communicator (like Garmin inReach mini - for no phone coverage zones)
- Downloaded offline maps (both regular and satellite view) for not only your destinations, but also for the interstate highways and roads.
- Topo maps
- Personal first aid kit
- Some sort of cord
Really appreciate all your efforts. The learning curve is pretty steep, and it must be really overwhelming, however believe me you're doing great.

Please do make a video on your cameras setup in the car... cameras you are using, their positioning, etc... Audio quality (surprisingly) is really good btw...
Thanks, I enhance the audio a bit in FCPX. As for cameras, I have started listing my gear in the video description. I will talk about placement in later videos some day 👍🏼
Its astonishing to see how easy it is to cross into another country. Liked the drone shot. I suggest putting a sticker mark/emblem on the RV to whichever place you go to symbolise your presence, just a thought if you like it. Happy travels.
Well Canadians can pass with ease, sitting in their cars. I have had European friends riding with me and while they dont need visas, they are stopped and processed in a side building.
And yes, I will add stickers to my RV 👍🏼

I will start doing the summary at the start. As for the goodbyes, I dont know where and when I will finish the video, so thats a bit harder to do. As for music, I prefer the original ambient sounds, but will consider using it in a few places, not every shot.

Irfan, the editing takes nust as much time, plus I have to travel, trouble shoot, plan, arrange … it will be too much for 3 episodes a week

As a Michigan resident I can understand your frustrations with our roads, hamari government bombs marnay pe paise ziada lagati hei instead of spending on infrastructure. Roads here are terrible indeed. I've also lived in toronto and didn't like the exuberant taxes on pay etc. I would take the bad roads and keep 80-90% of my paycheck :)

I have started to follow your journey closely and enjoying it vicariously through your informative and illustrative commentary and videos. I want to congratulate you on producing such a nice vlog. Thanks for the much-awaited drone shot as well. Since I share similar passions as yours, I understand how difficult and time consuming it is to document such travels in the form of photos and videos. I enjoy travelling and dabble in photography. I keep the dronography to stills only because video editing takes long time (so I exactly know how much effort you are putting into this venture).
