I’m so old that when I was a kid, we had to drive to LV in the middle of the night because you would have to turn off the air con so your car wouldn’t over heat…

Good memories on the Buffalo bill coaster. My parents would buy us kids the wrist band to ride all of the rides all day while they gambled. We rode that roller coaster so MANY times!! It is a lot of fun!

I lived in Las Vegas for a year back in '82. It would get over 120 degrees. It was a dry heat though so I kind of liked it. It was pretty sketchy back then. I would never go anywhere by myself even during the day. It looks so different now, in a good way 😊

Cars do overheat and you don't want to be stranded out there! it was sooo cool to see David and Liz driving next to you on the road- I don't know why but it made me feel like they are just regular people like myself! haha when you are such a fan of someone its funny how you see them. Welcome to Vegas!! If you guys get tired of the strip head to Henderson and visit the Lion Habitat Ranch. You will now only get to see the lions from the MGM but also Nevada’s only giraffe Ozzie. The best part is Ozzie paints. It’s awesome to see in person. Have fun!!

Recently stayed at South Point for a bowling tournament. Wearing a mask actually helped from all the smoke from the casino floor on the way in haha. That smoke is always such a pain to deal with. Vegas is a lot longer drive from the bay area, so I usually end up flying. Maybe next year I'll road trip it :D

My best time from Vegas to home in brea was 3 hours and 20 minutes that was after a mint 400 race weekend. Back in the 70s and 80s. Have fun. Bye from Oregon

We were at Vegas last week. Stayed at New York New York and had a great time. It was exactly today that we went there, LOL.
Seems like Las Vegas can be a Very long drive from where I live at in Riverside California but all what people do is drive through a lots of deserts on the way to Vegas now it’s been 26 years since I went to Vegas when I was 3 years old wow that long!

The temperature sensor in most cars is located somewhere near the radiator in the front grills.

My guess is the 4 lines in between the thermometer is by 2 degrees so 105 plus 2 lines will be 109 degrees, Spencer & Katie.

I remember driving through Death Valley as a kid ( I am 55) and someone on the radio that was walking through Death Valley must of been a radio bit ???. We couldn’t run our air conditioner back then at the time it would freeze up...... we could watch back to the future over and over and also loved Alf ! We are from the Midwest about 20 yeas ago hubby and me flew in to LA to visit famil and drove to Las Vegas a few days. Drove through there during a heavy rain... that was very scary. We understand how people get caught in floods out there. Even parts of Las Vegas was flooded
We understand that reference Spencer.. Evil did do that jump over those fountains and introduced us in the Midwest to Las Vegas after of course The King ... Ellllllll-vis ... Great vlog as always... that reminds me,, KT I have 1 of those Alf hand puppet dolls that Burger King put out years ago, it was Chef Alf

We do that too!! Every time we take a trip to Disneyland (8 to 10 hour drive) we play Disney songs...I bought the Disneyland park soundtrack as well....and this year we are going up to the mountains to a cabin built in the 70's so we made a playlist of all old 60's and 70's rock songs.....you are so my people :D
That Desperado coaster literally ruined me for rollercoasters when we went on it years ago. Have fun in Vegas!

That was a very nice ride to Vegas and how fun to see Liz and David at the stop with the big Thermarator. Katie I forgot to comment on the shirt you had on the one that said the Great Mouse Detective I really Mary really likes that movie. We have not seen it for awhile. Back to you Vegas trip. Try and stay a little cool. I'm surprised you do not have your little fan around your neck the one you use for Disneyland. Have fun
I didn’t realize the casino was smoke free that’s awesome! Part of why I dislike Vegas is feel ill half the time from all the cigarettes and cigars 😵💫

Our drive to Vegas was 33hrs, we took Route 66 from Ontario Canada. looking forward to some Vegas, have you guys ever been to 'Battista's Hole in the Wall' restaurant its behind the Flamingo.
Man I miss Vegas! Having two babies back to back is not conducive to going out to Vegas. Someday soon!
At the 7:50 mark you can see my house to the right. The temperature marks go up every two degrees but the actual reading you see is the actual temperature. My personal hottest I have seen Baker is 131

Hubby and I are renewing our vows (20 years) at the Little Chapel of the West where Elvis married Ann Margret in Viva Las Vegas!

Wow, you were talking about *Lake Delores* - I went a few times in the mid 80s and yes it was very dangerous there. They had nothing *steel slides* and I was seemed to get road rash from riding a ,lot of their slides. I heard they were talking about bringing it back, but from what I saw as you you driving by it, I want to say *nope.* BTW seeing the Dorks (aka FB) I can not to see you and them and the videos to come from Vegas.
I live in Barstow and se to go to Lake Delores all the time and send family to the new park that was there later years. very cool
