Just a year ago, I was coming out of a 2 year depression. Why is this song so calming yet so underrated?
I really love this song because, I struggle with my self-esteem and this song is about seeing the inner beauty of a woman and knowing she’s beautiful and I know people think this way about me but I tell myself “ No, they couldn’t think I’m beautiful they’re just saying that to make me feel better” and I’m just to blind to see that people love me and see my inner and outer beauty. This is a truly beautiful song with a very deep meaning & message. Its always important to see the beauty within a person. Its a problem that many have these days especially in relationships. We knock a person's flaws rather than embracing how they can make them a great person within. Then if you think of the spiritual message behind it you know that God loves us from within. I think the song is beautiful.My humble opinion is, if you dislike the song and are not for what Mali is doing then just pray for him and don't listen to the songs. But bashing him under his music will do nothing but tempt him to grow bitter toward Christians. If you feel deeply about your opinions just take them to God through prayer because that is initially the most impactful thing we can do. If prayer can move mountains, it can move hearts. Too many ignorant Christians on here, I could already tell by the dislikes. For those of you who complain about the video, you first have to understand that the video correlates with the lyrics of the song and the overall message. Second, she was about to get evicted from her house so she used her talent to earn money to keep her place, but then she quit. She didn't want to do it, but by circumstance that's what she has done and that represents some decision some people make to keep moving forward. Not all of us are fortunate to have the guidance or resources to get us where we need to go. And for any of you Christians who think this is inappropriate, newsflash; Mali Music is currently out of the gospel industry to go secular for reasons you are too narrow minded to understand. Going to the secular world reaches a far greater audience that needs the most attention and help as far as winning people over to Christ. Staying in the Gospel area is like advertising Vegetables to vegetarians: Vegetarians are already sold on eating vegetables so there's no urgency in trying to sell to them, however it would be beneficial to sell vegetables to non-vegetarians that way everybody can enjoy the life and the nourishment of vegetables and feel refreshed.

Forget the negativity. Why Mali left Christianity is his business. & I feel him because I left while he was still doing gospel. The comments is a good example why. There are popes and pastors molesting children and sleeping with the congregations that you're sitting in. Taking all of your profits and yet the needy is still needing. How is that happening? I wonder why everyone thinks that a Gospel song has to be all spiritual and deep. The anointing is not limited to making you feel good, or shaking, or quickening, etc... if you that's what it's ALL about, then you are wrong. It encourages, promotes love, happiness, peace and unity as well. The last time that I heard, the gospel promotes love, peace and harmony. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was based upon "love" (read the whole book of John, but chapter 17 was His prayer for the world, even now). The word gospel is defined as "good news" and this song is good news for the audience he speaks about in this song. He's grateful for the strength of others because it keeps him grounded, and he's thanking God for them. Just my thoughts....

Many of us Christians have the flaw of judging too quickly. I admit, when I saw the pole dancing scenes, I was a bit taken a-back BUT THEN I watched the whole video! He was trying to show how this girl didn't have the sense of self-worth enough to believe she could be better (in this case, be a ballerina). She was working at the strip club to make ends meet but at the end she gets a part in a play- which I am assuming is a paid production- so she doesn't have to work at the strip club. But whether she was a stripper or a ballerina, she was beautiful in God's eyes.
I havent judged quickly at all. He went from being a professing christian on his first album to not one mention of Jesus on this second album. I think alot of christians feel bitter and hold resentment at being used in order to get into the music industry. Hes not the first and he wont be the last....I hope he comes back to God before its too late.

Mali is such a breath of fresh air in the times we are living in. The way he's able to uplift, educate and convey Gods message through his music is a blessing. He's the definition of a man of God to me. You can feel the anointing in his music. Yahweh has gifted this man and he's walking in his purpose. I shed tears hearing his music. I love it.
