      @@aSoldierOfJesus that's cause you dont have brains enough to hide during daytime and dont have a silencer, night sights and night vision, If you have to fire more than 100 rds of 223, 200 rds of subsonic 22lr, or 20 rds of 9mm, the first year of shtf, you're doing so much wrong that you'll never make it. In a year, 99% will be dead, ,and the game long gone, so WHAT will you shoot at, hmm? Can't practice, cause ammo will be too precisious. @@WarFighterClipz put 1k rounds in a backpack by itself and walk around with it for a few hours. Then load out fully and do the same. Then ask yourself if you genuinely think the average American can walk around with 2k rounds of ammo plus a ruck full of essentials? I'm at 300rnd of primary plus 150rnd of secondary. With a minimal ruck because I'm confident in my bush skills. And it's around a hundred pounds on my body after the plate carrier. It's taxing even for someone who is in shape. The average American is out of shape.
      People have a misconception of how things will go. This has traditionally, for me anyways, be countered by people who have seen actual combat. One more little thing to think about. If I think you have a cache of resources in your house. And the S has already HTF. I didn't need to enter your home to clear the house. I can pew right through the walls and stop the resistance before I ever kick a door in. And that's exactly what any scavenger group will do.
      Don't use peace time strategies to plan for war time events. Good luck brother. We're all gonna need it.

    For me I keep around 500 rounds of 9mm 115 grain fmj and 100 rounds of Hornady black xtp 124 grain. 5.56 m193 ball ammo I keep around a thousand rounds. I keep probably 4-500 rounds of .22 long rifle. I rotate it by purchasing 100-200 rnds and then shooting that amount out of my stock. The only reason that I stock ammo in those amounts is because of the uncertainty of the future. We've been through too many scenarios where the ammo dries up and gets really expensive. I am under no illusion that I will be in any gunfights, especially prolonged gun fights.

    there's practice ammo (or reloading components and scrap lead) which you should store-up in case it becomes super-expensive again, and there's actual shtf, ammo. They are not the same thing. You need 1000 rds of 223 per year, 5000 rds of 22lr and 3000 rds of 9mm, just to maintain a decent skill level. It takes twice that much to ATTAIN that skill-level You want 60 gr Nosler Partition softpoint ammo for the 223 and 50 gr, 2000 fps, solid copper Liberty Arms ammo for the pocket 9mm, which is best for both shtf and EDC CCW. Practice with normal 22lr ammo. I once went thru 120,000 rds in 3 years of IPSC competition/training, half of it cast bullet .45 ACP reloads and half thru 22lr conversion unit on a 1911. I wasnt really that much better than I am now, shooting 90% less (thru the pistol)

You can't carry thousands of rounds on your back and still move effectively. Everything you leave behind arms your enemies. Be smart, not a hoarder."

    Shot placement is great for game that is not moving. DO NOT RELY ON SHOT PLACEMENT with an underpowered round in a COMBAT situation. You are trying NOT to get shot and so is the other person. Armor may also be a factor. Sometimes shot placement means aiming center mass and hitting anywhere on the target. Especially when you are being shot at and the target is trying to hit YOU. That heart or head shot ain’t going to happen. Even experienced snipers know after that first shot followup shots will be much harder. Most of us are nowhere near shooting a heart from far enough away to not get shot back at accurately. Relying on shot placement will get most people killed.

    I have the components needed to reload 12,000 rds of 9mm ( I cast the bullets from scrap lead) 3000 rds of 223 and I have 15k rds of 22lr. I"m ok for practicing until the US falls-apart (ie, 3 years or less). this is 2024. You'll see.

    I understand the trying to conserve ammo and save money but shooting a .22 to replace a 556 is not good practice there completely different animals that’s in my opinion not good practice

    • @FrontClipz
      @FrontClipz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It’s for manipulating the weapon platform not for recoil replication necessarily it’s still better than practicing zero marksmanship but obviously I would not train somebody on an Ar15 by only shooting 22lr

    You all need to stop buying cheap fmj and buy defensive more expensive ammunition.

      Not everyone is a millionaire, go ask anyone who’s been combat how well FMJ worked on insurgents. Shot placement matters more than the type of bullet you’re using. You can just say you wanna sound like a tough guy without saying it.

    • @oneslackr
      @oneslackr 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sure buy all the expensive ammo you want, store thousands of rounds, have all kinds firearms & gear/accessories, & tons of supplies blah, blah, blah. None of it will do you a bit of good when some clown who looks harmless in a tank top & flip-flops walks up behind you when you're not paying attention & puts one in the back of your head & takes all of your stuff.
