We have several, three in Europe covering Amsterdam to the Black Sea. One with AMA the other 2 with Grand Circle. Grand Circle is not as fancy but the cost is $250 to $350 per day, so a cheaper option. We also have done Russia and the Nile.
We have done Viking and Ama and both were great. Seven days is probably good enough. Our first was two weeks and though it was great, aftter day after day of seeing Cathedrals in Germany and Austria, I think I do not have to go to Church again. Ama's cruises in Egypt and Paris were phenomenal. We did a Christmas cruise with Viking but really after the first one or two markets, you have seen it all. There are only so many ways to market gloves or tree ornaments and you can only drink so many hot wines or eat so many pretzels. Regardless of the cruise, you will be up at 6AM, breakfast at 7A, start excursion by 8A, back by 1 or 2 PM, free time until 4P, briefing/drinks until 5 or 6 P for dinner time, music/dancing at 9P, then repeat in a new city.
Awesome, thanks for all your feedback. Sounds like you had some great trips there! Glad you also got to experience a couple of different links to see the differences. They're all good - just some things are different.
Would love information on finding a travel ag for river cruisingent
We used this agency: www.affordabletours.com/rivers/

Those sound fantastic. Thanks for the suggestion on the more affordable option as well. You've done some great trips.
I'd be interested in learning about a river cruise travel agent.
We used these folks on our most recent two bookings: www.affordabletours.com/rivers/
We are planning a river cruise for 2026. If you can share a river cruise only travel agency, I appreciate that tip.
Sure we have used affordabletours for a couple of our river cruise bookings.
