No autotune, just pure raw talent. They were song writers extraordinaire...and easy on the eyes 😂
Very easy on the eyes
Yep, auto tune was not even invented yet!
Barry Gibb has been married to his wife since 1970 and still married.
A lot of people don't realise that the *Bee Gees* were *British* born (Isle of Man. UK.)
The most famous *falsetto* singers on the planet.
i am born and bred manchester uk and i think two were born here ,,, there mother and father were from here too the local cemetery has quite a few graves are gibb relatives going back generations
Actually ....Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons were into the falsetto 2 decades before the BeeGees , with hits like Sherry , Sherry , Big Girls don't cry , Walk Like a Man , Candy Girl , Dawn , GoAway .......Rag Doll and others .
@@broadband01 older sister Lesley and younger brother Andy born in Manchester. Barry, Robin and Mo on Isle of Man
@@jimmythetout109 Correct, but the Bee Gees sang a much
harder version of falsetto! Power falsetto!
As big of a heartthrob as Barry was, he’s been married to the same woman over 50 years.
It's awesome to sit back and watch the younger people make remarks like wow you know that Berry had All the girls not knowing how true he's been to his wife for so many years!!! I love it!!!!
@@jonnyzabel3651 There are some good artists nowadays. Adele & James Blunt are 2 that I like. But as a time period, there are no better time periods than the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. The story telling. The voices (without auto tune.) The passion. Making the music for music & not primarily for money. I’m glad that I was born in 1969 & was able to experience so much of that music firsthand!
You know why us Boomers say, we lived through the best generation of music ever!
It's just a fact, the 70s sold more records than any other decade! I think the climax of musical expression was between 1965 and 1979, you will find 95% of the greatest songs between those years.
And Gen X, don't forget us😂
@@tonya6107Gen X here. Born 1970. I’d add the 80s as part of the pinnacle. 1965 - 1989.
The Bee Gees are so much more than people know from Stayin Alive. They reinvented themselves several times and always put out superb music. Also wrote most of their own music and composed hits for other artists like Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick etc. So many great songs. In the late sixties and early seventies they were more folk rock oriented and Robin sang lead more often songs to check out from that era are To Love Sombody, Massachusetts, I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You, and I Started a Joke. In the mid seventies they began to take a more R&B style check out Fanny Be Tender With My Love, Jive Talking, Nights on Broadway. By the end of the seventies they were the Kings of Disco with Stayin Alive, Night Fever, How Deep is Your Love , and More Than a Woman. Had a dry spell when disco became poison on the charts but wrote great songs for other artists. Then came back again in the 80s and 90s with still a different sound. a from the later era try Alone, Fir whom the Bell Tolls or a very interesting cover of Carole King’s Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.
Check out an early T.V. appearance in Australia in Black and white called "Spicks and Specks".
Also wrote the biggest selling country song ever with Islands in the stream!
Superb band ! Sadly only Barry Gibb is alive now :( Little bit of pointless info ..Maurice Gibb was married to the Scottish Singer Lulu ! Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers Barry, Robin & Maurice lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England, until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, later to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart successes in Australia as the Bee Gees, they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year.
Congratulations you know all about them.
Great !!!
yes i watch documentaries about different types of bands ,and i seem to store this information :) @@jaumepiquebernaus1853
What is your specialist subject? @@jaumepiquebernaus1853
@jaumepiquebernaus1853 I learned a couple of things I didn't know, so I enjoyed the info gave.
There was also a forth 'Gibb brother". Andy Gibb (3/5/1958 - 3/10/1988) by what I read Maurice, Robin and Barry had invited him to the Bee Gees but, he preferred to pursue a solo career.
Seriously? You've never heard this song? This group is epic. Their talent spans across decades. They are mostly known for their disco era however if you listen to pre- disco BeeGee music you would discover major talent. They wrote for other artists also. It's sad that Barry is the only survivor. There will never be another group like these brothers.
They were famous long before disco. They had a "Best of" album nearly a decade prior to disco.
No group can ever beat the Bee Gees. They were fantastic. Barry performs with his children and grandchildren. Barry is still really great.
Jackson 5 .....
@@richardhltrp1791 Lol.
Some more info on the Bee Gees. They had hits in the 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s and 2000’s and not only for themselves. They wrote songs for most of the top artists such as Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Elvis, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John, Yvonne Elliman, Tavares, Frankie Valli, Jimmy Ruffin and Dionne Warwick to name but a few. They wrote over 1,000 songs are in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Bee Gees were the greatest. They sound exactly like that in person. They were perfection.
Yes they do. Cannot agree more with you.
They wrote this song and two others (tragedy and shadoe dancing for their brother Andy) in ine afternoon and all three became #1 hits. This song was donated by them to UNICEF, getting over 12 millions dollars!
The Bee Gees were the greatest ever! Their music touches your heart and soul!!
The Bee Gee's ...There music is just "Pure", and always makes you feel good.
Beautiful
There was a 4th brother, Andy, who was also a talented singer and had his own singing (and teenage idol hearthrob) career. Sadly, he passed away at 30 years old in the late 80s. Such a talented family.
the greatest harmonies in the history of music! three careers and 300 million records sold over 6 decades and still selling records! pre disco, disco era and after disco. the brothers Gibb were pure artists. when your music outlives your body you are a pure artist. RIP MAURICE AND ROBIN!
Even their early work, "How can you men a broken heart" will tear you apart. Robin, (hands on hips) has a lovely singing voice, can & has taken the lead. He sings their massive hit "I started a joke" Barry's work with Barbra Streisand in the album "Guilty" was incredibly. "What kind of fool" & "I am a woman in love" will shock you. If you don't know Streisand this will display her talent. But the Bee Gees are not to be under rated. They are among the greatest groups of the era rivaling the Beatles, Elvis & MJ.
They have been singing in harmony since childhood. Barry, the lead singer, has been married to his love for many years.
3 brothers, 1 microphone, no autotune, only talent and harmony. Barry, in the middle, is the last from the Bee Gees.
Not only are they brothers but the two on the end are fraternal twins. Barry the oldest in the middle was 12 and the twins were 9 when they started singing 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's. The wrote for others and sang more than 1000 songs. Check out Dolly Pardon and Kenny Roger's, Island in the Stream or Celine Deion Immortality. One of my very favorite Bee Gee records was released Nov 1993, For Whom the Bell Tolls. They were the Greatest ever.
Fun fact. The iconic falsetto way they sang started as a joke. Berry Gibb did it while goofing around during a recording session when they were teenagers and the producers was like, '....do that again.' Then he had them do it for the whole song and, well the rest is history.
You should hear "To Love Somebody" from the 1967 time frame. It's on a lower register and demonstrates their talent.
We took this amazing talent for granted in the 70's, thinking music would only get better! Ha! No.
Robin and Maurice were twins even deepening that magic vocal sync
When their brother Andy sang with them, boy they had such a beautiful harmony that was out of this world.
The magic of talent.
💯
Their harmony, range and song writing skills are second to none. The Brothers Brilliant never disappoint. True talent. They donated all of the proceeds from this song to UNICEF. Lovely men inside and out. ❤ FYI: it is spelled Maurice, but pronounced Morris.
Im 62 and still love this song. I just want to say that I love watching the younger generation react to the music I've enjoyed for so many years!!! Love it!! ❤
61 here, and what a buzz it is to see youngens discover pre video clip music. :)
Great singing voices the Bee Gees had and beautiful harmonies. Great album Saturday Night Fever. The Bee Gees had 6 straight number 1 hits. Only other group to do that was the Beatles. Thank you for the great memories Bee Gees.👍👍
The Brothers Gibb... the B G's. Bee Gees. My mother was a big fan of them, when I was a small child.
Harmonies do not get any better than this. Perfection!
Barry is pouring his heart out telling his wife how in love he's in with her.
don't mess with sibling harmony.. they are perfect and also the best song writers I think of the 70's..the Jackson's and Osmond's also had great harmonies.. again.. sibling harmonies.. can't touch it.
1970's
No cable, no electronics,
Radio and Walkman were all people has, cable was not in our cities was back then,
We brought revors, listeria to Bb Gees, Too Much Heaven over and over were indeed Heaven❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bee Gees used horns in about everything. I can't think of anything specifically they didn't use horns in. At the ages of 5 and 8 their mom went to their room to have them turn down the radio and found it was her son's singing in perfect three part harmony. They started performing when they were 6 and 9.
Fanny Be Tender.
Nights On Broadway.
Love You Inside Out.
@kath...
Yup. That was a special guesting of the Chicago horn section in the intro of the song:
Chicago horn section. Lee Loughnane-trumpet, James Pankow-trombone, Walter Parazaider-saxophone.
The band was recording that time with their album "Alive Again" at Criteria Studios were The Gibbs were recording their "Spirits" album.
Barry returned the favor by appearing on the Chicago song "Little Miss Lovin'" with his yah-yahs falsetto ad libs and some velvetty subtle background ahhhss... at the fade section of "No Tell Lover".
The Chicago horn section appeared more full blast on the song STOP! Think Again with Barry's predominant ballad falsetto.
I just received a Jukebox for Christmas from my grown children. It's filled with all 70s music that I love, And this song is the first one I played, I love it !!
No way!!! Incredible gift.
bee gees love you inside out
Yes the older classics are really the best. PLEASE look into more of them, there are hundreds of them and you'd love them.
There is another brother Andy Gibb that was a singer by himself. Barry Gibb wrote a lot of his music and would be a music producer too. Andy died around 30 years old because of drugs.
Three brothers with stunning voices!
What could go wrong
Global superstars in their prime
But they had hits in four different decades
I’ve been listening to these Bee Gee’s reactions for the last month and yours was the best! I’m “86” years old they were in my time and it was the best time thank you 👍🤗
Unchained melody with the Righteous Brothers has a fantastic orchestra arrangement and the horns are very prominent in the later part of the song.
While I'm not a super-fan, I DO think this trio has/had the best falsetto harmonies EVER! I think they were also VERY adept at choosing good backing instrumentalists. Great reaction!!
Really first time not knowing
I feel honored to have known
Twins to boot, Many great songs written by them unknown !! danny
Amazing Voices Amazing Song Amazing Bee Gees. Thats wy I love the Bee Gees ❤❤❤
I was blessed to see them perform live in 1976! They were more than awesome! The disco stuff was just beginning and Nights On Broadway was their big disco hit at the time. So they performed mostly their older hits which are what made me fall in love with them way before I got to see them in concert! One of my strongest and most beautiful memories of my college years! 😊 💞
Bit of Trivia: The Bee Gees wrote MANY songs for themselves and others, including Islands In The Stream which was a big hit for the duet of Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers! 💖
Grandma and grandpa already knew what was good.
It's nice that people like you make sure she isn't forgotten.
Barry Gibb is the only surviving member! Both Maurice and Robin were twins and have passed away!
Actually Barry is'nt with us any longer...In the last few months
Godley heavenly anjelic heartfelt smooth great music from my time 😊
They where so talanted and had such beautiful voices.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) is my fav.
Great reaction. Bee Gees are legends. Didn't realize how diverse they are /were when I was younger. They have so many great songs. Try "Love You Inside Out" and " You Should Be Dancing"
If you likr Horns, TOTO and Chicago are great!
Barrys Falsetto and thise beautiful harmonies with Robin and Maurice making my head tingle for 20 years! Thus song is so beautiful. A small piece of heaven. So happy to have grown up with such great music like tge Brothers Gibb! They are one of a kind and sadley we will never hear those heavenly harmonies again. ❤❤❤❤❤❤Love the Gibbs.
I found your channel looking for Bee gees reactions. The Bee Gees are my favorite group and Elvis my favorite Singer. I am 59 years old.
I love to watch the reaction of various ethic groups to this love song both the lyrics and harmonize.
They were and still are the best. Before you talk about someone and their music. Make sure you do your homework. You don't seem to know them at all. Barry you may be the last but I will never forget you or the three brothers. I love you.❤❤
Amazing bang and history - i hope you go on this journey
This song was from 1979, after the Brothers Gibb (B G's, get it) hit it big with Saturday Night Fever. There were four, Barry, and the twins Robin and Maurice (Morris). Andy Gibb was their younger brother who hit it big as a solo artist but alas passed away. young
Tonight, Dec 27, Sir Barry Gibb will be one of the Kennedy Center honorees, broadcast at 8:00 I believe. He is the last brother still with us. RIP Andy, Maurice & Robin❤❤❤❤
If you leave me now by Chicago. If you like a love song with a horn, you'll love this song.
A little background:
Love your Bee Gee reactions of the brothers (Barry - the tallest with the beard, Robin, no beard, & Maurice, the shortest with beard - Gibb) who wrote the words & music to all their songs, as well as songs for other artists. They were also Producers and played instruments on their records!
They had hits in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, for a 5 decade career!
You can find videos of them performing on TV as early as 1960 when they were just children.
Barry, the oldest, is the only one still alive today. He's living in Miami with his wife, Linda, of over 53 years!
They also had a younger brother, Andy Gibb, who had a great solo career. He worked closely with his brothers (particularly Barry) in writing, producing, and doing background on many of Andy's songs! Andy also passed.

Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung) -- alone or with his brothers (Robin & Maurice Gibb):
If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman)
Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and Barry did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs.
Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD with Barry doing a lot of background vocals.
Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals.
Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals.
Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent!

Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it.
Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli)

Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb
A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)
Great Voices!! Great Band! Great Track! Great Reaction!!!! Thank You so Much ✌✌✌ 🇦🇺

All you had to do was listen to these songs, close your eyes and dream
Barry is the lead. The other two are twins, Robin on the left with his hands on his hips. Maurice (pronounced Morris commonly known as Mo) is on the right in the black shirt. Maurice died in 2003 of intestinal problems and Robin in 2012 from cancer. Younger brother Andy died in 1998 from myocarditis probably made worse from years of drug abuse. It technically was not a drug overdose. Hate that that is the reason most people believe. Barry is still alive at age 77. Sir Barry was knighted in 2018 by then Prince Charles. He just became a Kennedy Center Honoree. You should try to watch a video of each one singing lead. Their voices are so different to harmonize so well. They can all sing falsetto, but Barry usually does it.
Robin was a marvelous lead, as well.
You can really see these guys singing their hearts out.
Barry please stay healthy. I obviously had albums but these guys were grown men to me and I didn't even know the title of this song yet heard it hundreds of times. These brothers were God's gift to wholesome ✨️ music in the 70s! Their lyrics ars so beautiful 😍
This song, about the difficulty of finding then retaining love is juxtaposed to Stevie Wonder's great and lush ballad "Overjoyed", about unrequited love. Give that a listen
He's still married to the same woman that he was when he wrote/performed this song! He is selling it, but he clearly meant it too. I could recommend several Bee Gees songs, but I know others will. Instead -- and based on what you liked in this song -- please let me suggest Spandau Ballet's True (1985 #1 hit).
Chicago will excite you with their horns. Please listen to their music. They are the best.
Also add Blood, Sweat, and Tears to your short list of bands with great horn sections!
They are an awesome group the best group ever! Barry really did it Justice! They did the best harmonies. They wrote their own songs and! The osmands are another boy band but I think the BeeGees are the best! And I’m glad 🙂 Barry is keeping the group’s songs still playing and that we can see them and hear them! Barry put s his feelings out there…….😊🥰
Loved the BeeGees as a teenager. Maybe you could look at The Walker Brothers The Sun ain’t gonna Shine Anymore or The Everly Brothers All I Have to do is Dream
I suggest you listen to inside and out if you want to hear a heartbreaking song and here the amazing harmony of these three brothers the one and only Bee Gees
the authenticity behind your words reacting to this wonderful classic is amazing. One day, a producer told Barry to try falsetto, he did; and the rest is history

All three great singers. Listen to their brother Andy. Written so many songs which have been performed by so many different artists.
It's kinda funny to hear a young person talk about The Bee Gees. Growing up in the '50's and '60's, this old man enjoys their music through the '80's and beyond.
Bee Gees are the best & lovin' your "vibe" (as you call it!) as well! You're hearing & eyeing Sir Barry Gibb! Please consider reacting to How Deep Is Your Love or Fanny.🎶
This song was written by the lead singer for his now wife Linda. Barry Gibb is still married to her to this day. This song came out in 1978 and was recorded in one take, the live performance you're watching
Ooo the BeeGees, I remember them well! Not usually on my radar for anything but curiosity! My favourite track of theirs was Massachusetts. It was a really cool song, there’s an acoustic version out there somewhere which was amazing!
More please!
Yes so fun!!
They put out the greatest movie sound track of all time Saturday night Fever many #1 Hits!
The song was part of unicef fundraising that helped to make 10 million dollars.. Barry is the oldest brother. Robin and Maurice are twins and they had a young brother called Andy.
You are so pretty. It is really awesome that u actually did a reaction,, thank you
One in the middle is Barry Gibb. He is lone Bee Gee. Barry and his brothers sing together since 1958. Besides singing, Brothers Gibb has written over 1,000 songs for other artists such as Kenny Rogers and Barbara Streisand.
During the 60's they did have some hits singing in a lower register(Robin singing "I Started a Joke ",Barry(clean shaven)singing
This is the song we slow danced to in my high school prom. So many memories.
I was a teenager during this time period. Some popular groups who were comprised of siblings: Bee Gees (Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb), The Jackson 5 (Michael Jackson and 4 of his brothers), The Osmonds (5 brothers), The Beach Boys (Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson), The Carpenters (Richard and Karen Carpenter), AC/DC (Angus and Malcom Young), Van Halen (Eddie and Alex Van Halen), Heart (Ann and Nancy Wilson). Those are some of the ones off of the top of my head.
It’s an amazing thing that you mentioned about families singing together. I’m 56 and have been playing in bands since I was 17 and my son is 28 and his band recently won the New Zealand battle of the bands competition. But we have a side hustle where we play cafes, breweries, restaurants with acoustic numbers and I find it so much easier to sing with him than anyone in all my years of being a musician. We seem to just know the notes instinctively and only need a quick glance if we need to communicate something. I’m not comparing us with the Gibb brothers for one moment but just wanted to mention that what you say is 100% bang on
Unbelievable your analysis was , you added so much more to this, than I ve heard. Fantastic job!! A real pleasure to watch this with the accuracy and depth you brought to it!! ❤

"Too Much Heaven" is a Bee Gees classic
probably one of his most famous songs worldwide
worldwide success between 1978/1979
Although it is a very beautiful song
I have other songs by them that I like much more.
generally the oldest, such as
Massachusetts (1967)
Lamplight (1969)
My world (1972)
Mr Natural (1974)
and after them
For Whom the Bells Toll (1993)
They complete my Top5 of the Bee Gees
I suggest any of these for future reactions.
In addition to his greatest successes
Bee Gees donate royalties from "Too Much Heaven" to UNICEF
His Manager organized a historic Concert at the United Nations, exactly 45 years ago, on January 9, 1979.
Several artists were invited, who performed songs and donated royalties to UNICEF
Americans also participated
Rita Coolidge
Kris Kristofferson
Donna Summer
John Denver
Earth Wind & Fire
also the British
Andy Gibb (younger brother of the Bee Gees)
Olivia Newton-John (british/australian)
Rod Stewart
and the only non-English speakers:
the Swedish quartet ABBA
"That guy is selling it for me..." This was Barry's signature song, IMO. Robin and Maurice were just there to accompany him.
They were singing together, since Barry, the middle singer, was 8 years old, and Maurice and Robin were 5 years old.
Idk but the title of the song being too much heaven screams love song to me. I wouldn’t have expected anything other than a love song. That just goes to show how subjective this all is.
Barry just got inducted into the class of 2023 Kennedy Center Honors, aired a couple of days ago. They also wrote many songs for barbara Streisand, kenny roger, dolly parton, dione warrick, sound tracks for Grease, Saturday Night Fever
Thanks, K - those Gibb boys... lol ... hope you get around to some more.. especially those featuring Robin (my personal favorite...).. appreciate your reaction to this... (p.s. they were singing together as young children.... Barry is a few years older, and Robin and Mo are twins... )
Truly enjoy checking out your reactions. Here is a suggestion that I am sure that you and your listeners will enjoy.

You deserve a love like that, girl.❤
BOTH MUST HEAR Classics,, The Bee Gees "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" & "I Started A Joke" ❤
KOALITY, YOU HAVE GIVEN THE BEST EXPLANATION OF THE LYRICS I HAVE HEARD TO DATE.
I grew up on these songs and while iliked 90s music too there was something very charming about these older songs. I may be old fashioned but i never cared for songs that just made women sex objects and the song was just about getting it on. Songs like this are a lost art and add alot more polish to the song. It has alot more sawg then those "lets get it on" songs. It makes me happy to see I'm not alone and a new generation of women feel the same way and still enjoy a love song. Sometimes just saying how you feel is the best way to her heart along with a little tune.
