I saw them yesterday in concert in Madrid and when they played this song I really felt seduced by them. I was amazed by the energy each one of the Sons have. Like, I couldn't stop looking at Josh, Ezra or Lilah. I was hypnotized by this song and their rendition to it.

as someone who's a slight closeted freak, this remake of a song sung to death through auditions works for me, instead of it being cheerleader like this was more or less a sensual halloween fantasy feel. like im going through the woods alone in a romantic vampiric sort of dress unsure of where im going, but i hear this as the moon comes out, i come to a clearing in the forest and find all of you, some werewolves half way between changing, some dryads male and female, and other magical mythical creatures and humans mixed. and im approached by you three whom lead it all to join. and i let my movement follow the odd yet enticing sounds. i found this video fascinating. the choreography is very overtly erotic, almost pornographic, but all with a certain aware, almost mocking irony. the dancers sexualize themselves in both masculine-coded and feminine-coded ways, irrespective of the gender of the performer.
even their presentation itself (clothes, hair, makeup, etc) is genderfucked, but not in a whimsical glitter-beard way, rather in a tantalizing arousing tempting way. _aren't you just a _*_little_*_ curious what lies beyond the narrow box of sex/sexuality/gender you've identified yourself with_ it asks. and yes. yes we are.
I love this choreography for being so artistic and sensual at the same time, I don't know who this Bobbi Jene Smith is (who did the choreography) but I already loved his/her work
What's interesting to me is the original version was so clearly aimed at trying to tantalize men with female sexuality, just like basically every other song/ad/whatever that was trying to sell sex at the time. It was very representative of where sexuality was at during that time overall (2005). And this cover and video completely re-contextualize it for where we're at today.
