OMG I almost cried watching this vlog (in a good way :). I fell in love with Iceland 5 years ago, and my 4th trip there ended couple weeks back. To bring the memories to this spectacular place back, I am now watching all recent Iceland vlogs. I know all the places from your video, and I absolutely love them. Been to Iceland three times now. You got super lucky with the weather. We had an entire week of sun two years ago in late May/early June. February and October trips were great, but much snow and rain. Glad to see you two lucked out!

Great VLog! Insane landscapes captured here. Have seen some nice Island VLogs before but this one was the best one yet! Almost as one gets a little bit jealous watching you having a nice bath in the temperate blueish water having a drink doing so. But one can manage it! The landscapes were passing by, great views of huge waterfalls (of a size I have rarely seen!), some volcanic shots with smoke coming up from the black lava underneath (this lava wasn't floating though!). Nice that you mix shots from the city Reykjavik and surrounding areas and shots of yourself talking into the camera to describe this trip more in detail. One could just guess you must have had a great time there! Nice dynamic with other travellers too in this video sometimes travellers just travel by themselves not so this time. - Good use of a moving camera closing in on the things most interesting to you. What captured my interest most in this VLog though was the sense experience of the feeling conveyed by the Island landscape. Island is unique for sure. Rarely do one get to see an almost sci-fi/fantasy setting still this is not a fictional film - perhaps some would suggest these landscapes *surpass* the visuals in many sci-fi/fantasy movies! You're really good at video editing using texts, sound and music to great effect to create a nice blend of live footage with personal reflections, some weird humour, great music with positive energy (which I really like!) making one inspired to go to Island some day! Great VLog! Loved the style of commentary and the 786213 hours of editing most definitely payed off! That said I've got a few things to say as a construction worker who worked on making the blue lagoon. The timing of visits to the blue lagoon make a big difference to your experience. Early morning, bad weather, late night etc will mean less people in it for sure. My main problem is with it's marketing is that nothing about it is natural no matter how hard they avoid the fact that it is geothermal wastewater. Nothing wrong with it, it just isn't the natural hot spring miracle they make it out to be. Tom Scott actually puts it quite well in his video on it.

A truly nice presentation of a truly nice country. Of course, there is a lot more to see than you had the time to cover, but the chunk you plated up is reasonably representative. I am a Swede and I have the good luck to have a son living in Iceland (in between Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, to be exact), and I visit him frequently. He is a hiking, canoeing and fishing guide so I get to see all those things that the middle of the road turist goes glip of. If you return to Iceland, you really should visit the Westfjords, a mindbogglingly stunning landscape. And while you are there, you should also see the waterfall that puts Skogafoss in the shade in terms of sheer beauty, Dynjandi.
Just stunning!!!!!!! Such a beautiful part of the world. And finally we get to almost meet the 'brains trust' Mrs Bell. C'mon Taylor Mom deserves a formal intro at least, and isn't she a dab hand with the camera - very impressive! For an 'on the spot' decision to go, certainly backed a winner. And yes once is never enough for a location such as this. Appreciate your efforts and how well you put it all together - good job!!
not sure what number Icelander I am watching this, but I really like it. You actually drove past my home town of Akranes when going north to go see Kirkjufell xd. Me personally love it when tourists try to pronounce Icelandic words tbh, makes me feel special being able to speak it :)

Well, seems to be a good idea that I stayed with photos mostly (ok, that does not pay off like youtube blogs) but seems to be less time consuming. :) Iceland is on my list of the contries where I plan to go in the near future.
Taylor: As a geologist I have seen a great deal of the world but have yet to explore Iceland. Love the glimpses of the geology and its unique land forms…that’s what I had my eyes mostly on in your wonderful video. Hope you read up a bit on the origins of Iceland. Rocks may seem boring to some but once you get familiar with them, they can tell amazing stories. We geologists in many ways are time travelers as we attempt to unravel the secrets of the earth’s past. Lovely job Taylor.

@@therapturedmichelle those and Spanish and German! Icelandic has some similarities with German but it’s still very different. There’s pretty much no reason to go ahead and learn it though, unless you’re planning on moving there or wanna read the Viking sagas in the original text hahahah
