    I’m loving your workshop! You’ve done very well with your organization and creativity. I like how you use the French cleats in sections instead of plastering an entire wall with French cleats.

    Subscribed. The algorithm suggested you no doubt because of my recent binging of shop tours and shop org tips. (It’s time!) Appreciate the honesty about poor choices and tools you rarely use. You’ve given me some tasty food for thought about plywood storage and making use of the garage door. Thanks!

    My biggest space problem is still all the wood storage. I have almost the same dimensions shop, but one quarter is taken by wood. I will have to built another shed just for that.

    At the 4:45 mark: The company that makes your cyclone system is named for the Native Americans who were the original inhabitants of the Syracuse, NY area where the company is located. “Oneida” can be tricky to pronounce. While it looks like “One-ee-da”, it’s actually “Oh-NYE-da”. Thanks for a great shop tour vid; I am also fed up with my shop and on a mission to have a shop wherein I can walk up to what I need and not have to move anything to get to it… ;)

    Nice shop! When it comes to get better dustcollection on tablesaw it will need as much air coming in as going out so if you close it to much the suction will suffer. Iam pretty sure because I did exactly as you😊

    Great video. Genius CNC setup! Are there any downfalls or things to know about wall mounting that CNC? Curious of the pros and cons beyond the savings in floor space.

    • @UrbanShopWorks
      @UrbanShopWorks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cons are it’s really heavy getting it on the wall is a two person job. clamping can be an issue, I put dog holes in the waist board and use bench dogs for placement and to aid with holding. I also have a 2 kw water cooled spindle in my CNC which is not supported by the CNC manufacturer and the cons of this is the added weight to the Z and Y axis. It still works fine though in this orientation.

    I too LOVE the idea of machining! One day I hope to have to the time to learn it. I liked the "tent" wood storage. What part of the world are you in? We moved to the midwest and it's SUPER humid here and I would be afraid of my wood getting ruined being outside even if it's covered. 3: Remember, you have VERTICAL space too! You're lucky. Use it where you can.

Something a bit more heavy duty. Also, that piece about empty space is something i recently realize about my shop. I need more empty space. My shop is 19x20 and i wished i had built it bigger.
