It was great for them. Ohio State didn't play great, because they are always trying to test new things. Nebraska will be pretty good while Raiola is there. They have to recruit better and get their NIL together. I don't see them being elite again. Geography still matters. They have to outbid other schools.
I would give our performance a B, simply because we didn’t capitalize on our red zone opportunities. If we score on those chances then we win the game comfortably. The process under Matt Rhule is fantastic. I truly believe years 3, 4, & beyond could be really special. Go big red! 🔴⚪️🌽🔥
I’m a massive Nebraska fan. Believe it or not, I was *very confident* going into that Ohio State game. I looked at that 3.4% “chance” the analytics were giving us to win, and actually laughed out loud. Matt Rhule is building something special in Lincoln. It’s only a matter of time before the results match the process, and the process is fantastic. Go big red! 🔴⚪️🔥🌽
@@ribble_wibble7478oh well you can’t give credit to a team because their defense forced turnovers, good thing nobody considers turnovers a real or important part of any game, solid point
I'd grade your call of that game a 9.5 because you caught even the small stuff. I'm not a fan of either team, but you and Gus are always entertaining and informative.
Spot on. In terms of Raiola, he's a true freshman who is learning that he can't get away with some of the things he did in high school. That's to be expected, but it is clear to see his upside. I would anticipate him to take a huge leap next season with a full year of game experience under his belt and a full offseason to work with the coaching staff on perfecting his game.
How should Nebraska fans feel after seeing some of the most blatantly biased officiating imaginable? Just another day in the Rigged Ten, right? Did you get reprimanded for calling out the lousy officiating live, on the air?
Gus and Joel were too busy in the booth with Eddie George. About four or five plays happened with no comment. But we all got to share in their reunion so that was good.
As Nebraska fans we have no choice to be hopeful.. Rhule is a slow burn developer and the players he has recruited are so very young and we are relying on Frosts recruits.
Nebraska is going to have to start stepping on the throat of their opponents, so much so that anything the refs try to pull, they won't be able to change the outcome of the game. It'll just be absolute dominance. It's blatantly obvious that B1G officials have been trying to undermine Nebraska football from the moment we joined the league. GBR!
Raiola’s a much better quarterback than we’ve had in years here and maybe our best passer ever, but he’s been really not good in the past 2.5 games. He just can’t seem to hit anything beyond 15 yards downfield and I think is way over-relying on screens is related to that. I don’t know if he’s hurt his throwing arm/shoulder or what but it’s a problem that really needs to be solved because our offensive line is not opening up options in the run game.
Game score is a B+. There is no A for effort. You need to win for an A or higher. But man that was the team I was expecting to show up to Indiana. It looks like there was a gameplan scenario that got Nebraska for the Indiana game. Both DC and OC misread what was important for that game. Somehow Tony White has our defense in blackshirt mode but Satterfield is selling the team on offense. I would say trust the process, but im tired of our offense being our limiting factor.
I thought the defense played their butts off and the offense did what they could. I felt the play calling on offense was questionable at times. B overall
Program: A system of football where hard work, discipline, execution and fundamentals result in wins. Season: A lottery where talent is recruited and sometimes wins only to be followed by a 2-10 season (see Florida State) Insanity: calling the same screen pass which requires a 175lb Wide Receiver to block a 225lb LB or DB for 4-5 seconds
93-97 big Red was the greatest ever.Sec fun and ole ball coach Fla,Nebraska 62 Fla 24.500 yds rush avg per game in 95 covered every spread by a bunch. Now if the lose to UCLA they lose out.
I *would* feel confident going forward, but there's only one thing we can be sure about with this team: they're inconsistent. Like... incredibly inconsistent. That Indiana/Ohio State stretch shows exactly how erratic their play can be. I won't feel good about this team until they can string three or four weeks in a row of the kind of energy and execution they showed at Ohio State. I've been fooled too many times.
Unfortunately close losses mean nothing, we’ve consistently lost close games for years. They are 5-3, prob should be 7-1 but they’re 5-3. Easily could lose all their remaining games.
if dylan’s relative wasn’t there he wouldn’t have gone there. but the freshman class is absolutely stacked, i don’t know what your son [Colin] is talking about “weak draft class” we have so many QBs upcoming dude doesn’t even know the potential of these guys. - Eli Holstein on UNDEFEATED Pittsburgh - Dylan Raiola - DJ Lagway on an AWFUL Florida team still putting up smashing numbers - Sam Leavitt out of Arizona State - Michael Van Buren Jr on an AWFUL Mississippi State team.
Yes, they played good enough to make it a game. Honestly it was a game OSU wasn’t invested in playing or over playing their hand, or opening the play book.
Nebraska has been close to beating OSU a few times in recent years. Doesn’t mean anything. Program still remains stagnant. This year they appear to have hope but they are starting to hit the meat and potato’s of their schedule now
A team who lost by fifty the week before played hard out of desperation, NOT as being a good team!!. OHIO STATE Coaching staff FAILED Ohio State Football team. Nebraska is NOT four point worst than OHIO state. Ohio State let them stick a around, I guarantee you Nebraska loses nexet time they play...
Horrible take but ok…we arguably have the best Run D in the big 10 and it showed…sure Ohio St didn’t play well but I’m still giving a lot of credit to our D

C+ is a horseshit grade. I bleed GBR and we have some dumb fans. I would give them a B- on x's and o's. But an A+ on effort, grit, and the grind.

@mattdavid716 not in a one off game. We don't judge teams on one game. You know that come on.

For my $, you’re the best in the biz at the moment. Really appreciate your insight and passion. Cheers and GBR!

2:03 we learned that the OC cannot do that during that game.

Hey klatt, can you explain to me why fox has to ruin pretty much all of Penn states big games by putting them at 11:00, why is this not a 6:30 game?

Based on your own ability to be a college/professional coach? Bwahahaha
