  • Here are your corded lawn mower choices:
    Greenworks 20 inch Mower: amzn.to/2eDB1ia
    Greenworks 16 inch Mower: amzn.to/2ei4woQ
    Greenworks 14 inch Mower: amzn.to/2flleEM
    The Greenworks 21" corded electric lawn mower light weight and easy to use. It may take some time to get used to the cord but the review includes some tips on how to manage the electrical cord while mowing. Because this mower is corded, there are no batteries to recharge and the mower runs at full power with every use.

    I love my Greenworks 21" mower and have owned it since 2019. The mower is very easy to use and I clean the underside of the mower after every grass cutting and it will prevent the metal body of rusting. Would highly recommend this mower for people who have small to medium-sized yards!

    The cord holder didn't work well because you're using it wrong. Make a loop with the cord, push the loop through the circular opening in the cord holder, then hook the loop on the hook of the cord holder, and finally pull on the cord to tighten it. Now any strain on the cord is taken by the cord holder, not the power connector.

      I agree. You can test it by pulling the cord. If you hook it correctly, the lawn mower should be jerked (not the plug itself)

      I've found with my mower, if the velcro strap holding the power cord is attached at the middle of the handlebar and the power cord is allowed to trail back between my legs, I don't need to move the cord position at the end of each pass like the guy in the video is doing. The cord is already well out of the way for my next pass. Try it.

      It's also pretty standard procedure. I think I first learned how to do that when I was like eight years old.

      I've found it easier to tie the cord high up the handle, near your hands, so you can more easily grab the cord when you need to pull the cord out of the way. If you tie the cord mid way down the handle, you'll kill your back trying to reach over to grab the cord. I also like to pull the mower backwards...the key is if the design of the mower allows the cord not to be pull under the mower or block the discharge chute. My old 6.5 amp Black & Decker could be pulled backwards safely, but they discontinued it.

    I have one and it works great but if I had it to do over again I would buy a battery one because of fighting with the cord. It takes me about 45 minutes more to mow my lawn than it did with a gas mower. I quite using a gas mower because of a bad shoulder.

    I have one and I love it. I just have to figure how to make the opening larger where the grass catcher goes on after you open that door.

    I need some help.
    We found one at the side of the road, and it worked! However, I stopped for a minute when my in-laws came by, and then it wouldn't start up again. So I took the cover off the trigger/switch to look at it (where the on switch button is). Before I could even look at it to see what was going on, how it assembled, etc, my 8-year-old son came along and nosily pulled the bail switch (level on the handle), which caused a bunch of springs and stuff to come flying out (because the top cover was off and wasn't holding it in). I can't figure out how all the parts go back in. It appears that when you push the button, a metal level comes down and comes in contact with a metal piece (that had flung out of there). I want to make sure I put it together right because I don't want to electrocute myself or bypass the safety mechanism, etc.
    Do you think you could just take that cover off and show a picture?

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +tibzig1 It does make a fair amount of noise but I could really notice how quieter it was from a gas mower. The best part is not having to smell exhaust fumes. And it is really light weight. You can push it around quite easily compared to a gas mower.

    I just bought this exact mower and noticed that it came with the mulch cover already installed. I'm trying to remove it but it seems very hard to remove and I don't want to break it. It says to pull at an angle, but still not having any luck with it. Any advice?

    • @bluefrog85

      Probably already got it but from what I understand you just wiggle it and pull. It doesn't have a latch or anything and you won't break it. It has to be snug or it wouldn't work right.

    Hi guys I am thinking about buying this lawnmower, for those of you have got it, does the bag hold up ok? I mean does a lot of dust come out of the bag as you mow?

    • @bluefrog85
      @bluefrog85 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      As with any mower with a bag i'm sure if you mow up a bunch of dirt, plenty of dust comes out. It's meant to catch grass not dust. The mower has great reviews though and amazon has good pricing on it with free shipping.. Its at the top of the list of mowers i'm looking at right now..

      bluefrog85 Kobalt makes one very similar to this. They also give you a 5 year warranty vs Greenworks 4 year. And if you care about color (i did) the black/blue color scheme is pretty nice. I should make a video review of it.

      I've never used the bag. I always mulch. You probably know, but don't try to cut wet or damp grass. I tried that once with a gas mower a couple years ago and had the problem you're describing.

    I've had my Greenworks 21" mower for three or four years now and what a blessing it is to walk out for the first cutting in the spring plug it in, push the button and hear it quietly purr. I haven't had a moments problem with it and to be honest I haven't really taken near as good care of it as I should have. I have a fairly large yard and the cord does still get a bit aggravating from time to time, but overall I am more than happy with this mower. It is light-weight, durable, and most of all reliable. I would recommend this mower to anyone who has an average size or smaller yard. I would buy it above a gas mower every time.

  • @jamesdewer
    @jamesdewer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    FYI, do not rinse your mower with water after use. It will rot the motor bearings, The next time you use it the motor/blade will not turn. To verify this has happened. Unplug it and manually try to rotate the blade. It won't budge. I tried soaking the motor bearings in Break-Free corrosion remover and was marginally able to get it started. Regardless, once the motor heated it froze again. So, I bought another one and it's lasted more than the one season of the one I thought I was properly maintaining. Of course this is mentioned in the owners manual but who reads that!!!! It's the best out there for the price. Just keep it dry!

    • @TheRenderQ

      Thanks for the tip! I occasionally spray the underside of my Greenworks mower to clear out stuck grass but in the back of my mind I'm thinking I probably shouldn't do that! But mine is still working after about 3-4 years now.

    • @jmccoppen
      @jmccoppen 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRenderQ Actually it only says not to spray water on the motor cover in the manual, and it recommends keeping the underside clean. I'm sure a quick rinse on the underside occasionally won't hurt anything.

    Has anyone changed the blade on this and then the bolt AND nut spin so you cannot tighten the blade down, nor remove it? I wouldn't think there would be too much of a trick to taking a nut off and putting a nut back on other than lining up that spacer. My mower is rendered useless until I can get this fixed.

  • @Clavenov74
    @Clavenov74 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just as an FYI, the cord holder is there for safety purposes and is supposed to be looped in from the back so if there is pressure on the cord it doesn't pull out. Almost all corded mowers will have something like this.

    I just picked up one of these on Ebay new for $190 with shipping. You can still get it new from WalMart for $200. Ive been very happy with it. It feels almost as powerful as my old toro 21" push gas mower. I love the 1 lever height adjustment and with a 150' 12 gage cord it can reach everywhere on my property from 1 outdoor outlet. My biggest suprise was the bag. It can hold alot. I was gonna go battery but theyre super $ and theyre weak. They dont post the wattage but the math is there. Watts=voltsxamps and amps can be taken from the amp hours vs runtime and hp=watts/746. They literally only put out 1-1.5 hp max while this puts out 2.

    I just bought my greenworks mower two weeks ago, no gas fumes emissions, no more running to the gas station to fill up on gas and their hiking prices, no problems with pushing this light weight piece of machinery around and it doesn't tire me out....I luv the grass catcher also because it saves me time from having to rake up the back yard to pull all my stuff together into a bag...it makes it so much more easier and I cut my yard in 15 minutes versus the 1 1/2hr to keep stopping to refill gas.
