I didn't get to see any proper Santa Lucia "parade" this year, just in the distance... Maybe I'll get to bake Lucia saffron buns next year? I don't eat cinnamon buns myself.
By the Middle Ages the Julian calendar, then in use, had the Winter Solstice on December 13th, so it was the longest night of the year. Thus a lot of scary forces were around, which led to a lot of tradition, many now altered or forgotten.
@LunaciaBooks not really , after tomorrow I have the 18th and 22nd plus Xmas day and boxing day, and I will have NY day off as well. I have booked annual leave from January 5th-13th though, I don't work my birthday 🤣
Not working on your birthday sounds good. I have taken Monday off, as I'm heading to Oslo tomorrow. I have 24th - 27th off, work on the 28th - 30th, then 31st -1st off.
Lovely to hear about other holiday traditions. Those buns look delicious!
St. Lucia tradition is so sweet! I need to make some cinnamon rolls now. Hope the new book is lovely.

The Lucia dolls are so charming.
It was the only photo of a Lucia "parade" I could find on Pixabay, LOL.

@@HS-su3cf That makes sense!
I think today has been my most chill day of the month so far, although I am still struggling to read atm
Do you have any time off for Christmas?
