I really like all your videos but I'm not sure I 100% agree with this one. When looking at the pros, and not normal high angles, but courtside angles, I was surprised to see how the difference is in the take back and not dropping the racquet to hit flatter. Once the racquet is below the contact point, open faced or closed faced doesn't really matter, you'll always be brushing up. Whereas I think the pros when hitting flatter don't drop the racquet nearly as much. The loop is a lot smaller and higher. This has helped me flatten out my shots more.
Very clear instructions on how to do this. Thanks Steve. We must practice this when I get back.
Thanks! Very informative. I'm going to try it!
You are correct again Coach in your analysis of Federer who Was a game changer in modern tennis.

Thank you, very good.
I take it that Master Federer has the same grip for both top spin and flat forehands. Is that the case, please?
Yes. It's the angle of the racket drop that changes. Federer always used an eastern forehand grip.
Glad your enjoying the channel
Please let me know how it goes?

I don't think about the backswing having the racket face closed or open abit for topspin or flat. Just swing more upwards for topspin and more forward for flat.

Nowadays flat hitting doesn't mean open racquet face. It is topspin as well with more forward momentum, aiming closer to the net...but not with open face. They hit with a lot of spin to bring the ball down into the court not into the fence.
terms can make confusion...
I've watched this guy steadily improve significantly for over a year now. But when you fake out Zeverev a full 8" taller, moreover you get into Djokovic's head the best returner in the game surely it has to be more than me that noticing. Again nothing revolutionary won this match. Just small incremental changes that Nole Djokovic simply had no answer for. Arguably the strongest mental game on tour for many years was flummoxed. Upshot here these small changes in your game can make huge changes to your outcome. th-cam.com/video/nbxvy7H72H4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qUOXDr7CSsRW5uko
