  • How to take sharp photo of the milky way?
    I love photography and my favorites are landscape and Astro, I don't normally stack my Astro images because I'm using a star tracker. But I did tried it in this video and the result is really great, I will try again with at least 10 or more images as I 'd only use 3 frames for this video demonstration.
    Check out my images on my website:

    Great video and the final result of the picture looks awesome! How large was the file size after you flattened the 3 images? And what are the specs of your computer?

      Thank you @Erry. I saved the file in .tiff which is usually 121 MB. I’m using a windows laptop with i7 (8th gen), 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GPU with additional 4GB RAM, 256 SSD internal storage + 2TB HDD.

    Very nicely explained. Good video.
    Is it possible to capture milky way/night sky/star photo without using a star tracker and avoiding star trailing. I do not have a tracker and I have tried several times to capture stars photos but always ended in star trails.

      Thank you for spending your time watching the video bro. Yup, it’s definitely possible, you just need to shorten your shutter speed (exposure). Would you be able to share your camera model and lens? I might give you the proper settings.

      @@OneRiley do you use a remote to take all your photos without moving the camera?

      Kia Ora @Jack, no I didn’t use any remote but the built-in 2 seconds timer on the camera. All the best

    Recently got a tracker. My pictures have improved a little bit (compared to untracked results) but are deffinitley not as sharp as yours and the details you have are incredible :D what do I do wrong I wonder.
    Maybe my lens is not suited for astro? It's Sigma 17-50 2.8. It was tracked perfectly on my nikon D5500. It's true that the stars are not perfect points like yours but did my best focusing to infinity.

    • @OneRiley
      @OneRiley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello @Josef, how long have you been using your tracker? Polar alignment is a bit tricky and still needs a lot of practice, some of the lens as well can capture pinpoint stars at the center but a little distorted at the edge.

    • @josefhrdlicka2251
      @josefhrdlicka2251 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OneRiley hi thanks for quick response, this was my 2nd time tracking. Did 10 light frames 2min each. The edges are blurry and I did step down a little to reduce the blurr effect. However when I preview the image it’s just not as detailed and sharp as your picture.

    • @OneRiley
      @OneRiley  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suspect that it might be the lens, but try another round and shorten the exposure to just 30 secs to 1 min. Maybe it’s slightly out of inifinity focus as well? Once you’ve got the right spot, it should be all good. Please feel free to comment anytime and I’ll try to respond as quickly as possible. All the best Josef. 😀

    This doesn't appear to work in PS 2024 unless I'm doing something wrong. I have 10 DNGs which are all the same in Lightroom Classic. After choosing panorama in PS at 4:01, and unchecking the "Blend Images Together" checkbox at 4:19, PS creates what looks like an actual panorama image where they are shown one below the other. They don't appear like yours do, where they take up the full canvas each.

      That’s sad to hear bro, can you try restarting your Pc and do ot again please? Not sure of the new AI thing on that version that hinders you to process it like the way on this video.
