Two of the most influential musicians of a generation playing around a relatively simple riff ... so beautiful ... i want to cry for all the right reasons ...
Omar should definitely get involved in some of john's new solo stuff somehow. They're playing works so well together. If you don't know, John plays on loads of songs on the Mars Volta album, deloused in the comatorium. check it out, this video introduced me to the mars volta and I'm now a massive fan :)
After listening to Mars Volta as often as i do you begin too pick up where Fruciante is ripping Solos just cause his style is so much more Flowing, Omars more about randomness and fitting as many awesome effects in as possible
yeah, i get goosebumps. Probably since it's cold in my house! Honestly, though, besides cold there those goosebumps i get when listening to JF and ORL!
i saw a video where the intro to one of their concerts was the trumpet score from one of clint eastwoods movies: A FIst Full oof Dollars. so he definat;ly gets influence from clint eastwood movies.nice catch man.
Got the album on my new ipod, its excellent to work with at school - currently were reading a book - so i just put on this album and im able to concentrate! Thats some very constructive of use of music, thanks John and Omar youre helping me with school ^^
i loooooooooooooooooooooove so much this song, the feeeling oh god! so nice somehow this amazing musicians got together espontaneously and make this beautiful art for my emotions! ok i love the song! hahahaha
i self tabbed the song up to about 3:56 Both guitars go off in a beautiful tone and its like idk wat tuh concentrate on.. guys try self tabbing it, gives you more expirience and it helps you be creative while trying to self tab this song, love this song, love the guitarist. i want omar ridriguez new album (xenophanes) that comes out on tuesday!!!
@magicbag6790 John is definitely playing electric too. there are a bunch of different electrics on this track. He plays some lines that are obviously his style
@goldgretch to be an audience is the choice of the viewer, none is shoving this down your throat. Every record is not meant to please the audience. respect an artists right to expression. Specially these 2, they earned it.
Gitara to najbardziej wrażliwy instrument. Gdyby miała oczy to na pewno często by płakała, a Fruscinate to jeden z tych, którzy ją uwielbialiby najbardziej to tego doprowadzać.
@TheGroumpfy i read somewhere john said that he played on most of the mars volta's albums as the guitarist that played the rythyn parts and parts that were written out... so im guessing tha john is on accoustic. but i could be wrong.
You guys talking about who's better. That isn't what matters, neither are. They are both just different people, they are both great musicians because they play from the heart and share the same passion and viewpoint about making music, and hence why they are good friends.
the first time i heard this i didn't even know who was playing and i asked if it was frusciante... i agree, there's a lot of frusciante's work although omar's signature is everywhere also
Who gives a shit about who is better, no one should be categorized like that anyway. Even if you didn't know who wrote/played this song it would still be fucking amazing. I can't stop listening to it.
@rooky2222 Your wrong about that because he is not playing any "wrong" notes at all assuming you mean in the traditional sense that he's playing notes within a scale that fits with the chords. The song is in D flat minor and he is playing in D flat minor mode. What is unusual is the way he bends the notes a little out of tune and then brings them back in. I like it.
The tabs for the more complex part are as follows...For acoustic guitar: C#m, E (on 7th fret), B, F#. For the electric guitar: e-G#-G, C#-G#-G, C#-F#-E, B-F#-E...Uhhh, I think. Please correct if needed and email me the corrections!
Sometimes I love Facebook memories. It reminded me that I posted this track on Facebook almost 9 years ago - and I haven't heard it since. Oh my.
Translation: *I POSTED THIS BEFORE YOUUUUU*
Same here
Omar and John together, if only jimi was alive to see this
It's amazing how they both have their own, recognizable style of playing.

The best melodic chords ever, C#m, E, B chord
@goldgretch to be an audience is the choice of the viewer, none is shoving this down your throat. Every record is not meant to please the audience. respect an artists right to expression. Specially these 2, they earned it.

Gitara to najbardziej wrażliwy instrument. Gdyby miała oczy to na pewno często by płakała, a Fruscinate to jeden z tych, którzy ją uwielbialiby najbardziej to tego doprowadzać.
MUY MUY BUENO!!!!
@tischcouch these are close, no capo on 4th fret, so its Dbm (bar 4th fret), E(bar 4th fret, B, and then F#/Gb.
this is just boss.
omar is godly.
yesss!
Light overdrive, and a pedal that adds octaves/harmonies, like a whammy or POG. A wah pedal, and maybe some kind of delay. Also sounds like a phaser
perfect
wow! great
Yum yum yum!
this song gives you a really weird bad ass feeling. :) peacfull:) mellow..

Someone PLEASE has to make a 10 hour vid with this!!!!!!

@Carnane I couldn't disagree less. They merely go about expressing that soul in different ways. I've been brought to my knees by both of them.
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEE :-))))
@0:29 John is a cool as Mother...... Kida like James Dean in th 50s. Rock on John and Omar.........

holy crap that's an old picture of omar. awesome shirt though!

IF anybody has heard of John Fruciante's DC EP, John uses similar licks from the song "Dissolve"
Is that the album with Joe Lally(Fugazi)?
@ginty019 100,000 only from me ! haha .. thanks for sharing this song :D :D
amazing! *-*
It's a Vox AC30, a widely regarded as being awesome amp. Brian May from Queen uses them almost exclusively.
They make guitars become alive
These are two people I'd definitely want to hang out with, let alone to jam with them.
You would want to be ready to do a lot of heroin, because that's their thing. Both of them.
@@tehschkott What are you even saying, John had sobered up by the time him and Omar met.
Theyre both playing at the same time for the duration of the song.
the first time i heard this i didn't even know who was playing and i asked if it was frusciante... i agree, there's a lot of frusciante's work although omar's signature is everywhere also
ok man, you know that you must share it with the world! PLEASE! haha
one fill the other is amazing, could you guys imagine them workin' on his own project together?
Bangin'
they never released it under their names. this and 0=2 came out on the GSL special 12 singles series. its on itunes tho:)
2:54 is that Omar having breakfast with what appears to be an amp? Awesome. I would have never thought that i would be jealous of an amp in my life.
@snackhappypappy I do man, this is just amazing
