- With the new 1.19 Cubecraft EggWars Update, the entire community is in ruins. A majority of players say this is the end of EggWars and even Cubecraft as we know it. Is the update really that bad?!?

The reason why I liked the old eggwars so much was because how fast pace the start of games were. You get a stack of blocks almost instantly and get to middle and quickly get diamonds. Or you could just quickly rush another team. The old overpower also made it so that you woundn't die in like 3 hits because of the prop 4. Another thing is that generators were so much faster making the progression faster. Thats what I liked about the old eggwars the most. This update just doesn't work for me. Its not entirely bad, but old eggwars was so much better for me. Their are still quite all lot of bugs in the new update like ghost blocks and other stuff and also LAG. They defeneitly rushed this update. In my opinion, they could have two different eggwars versions so that people can choose what they love and prefer. This might not be the best idea but its what I would suggest.
Thanks for the comment. I think this was necessary to balance out the update between old experienced players and new gen players. The slightly slower paced game and new damage values give the newer players slightly more of a chance. I think we just have to get used to the new damage values too, it’s a bit difficult since there is a much smaller margin for error, but definitely learnable.

I think the death persistent pickaxes are too much to deal with. Every time I squad wipe a team I gotta remind myself that until I get a diamond pickaxe and 9 blocks of ancient debris, they're just going to keep respawning and rushing with pickaxes until i leave the island or die.
as a player in 2019-2021 and not playing cubecraft for over 4 months, i think this update is absolutely horrible. the new items and mechanics just ruined the overall vibe of eggwars. the old emerald update in 2020 was way better and i’d rather have that than this. i didn’t even know this update came out until watching this video. after seeing discounts and removing food for potions, i just gave up on this game. after watching i will not be playing eggwars ever again🤗
They removed food for potions only in hardcore mode and not for normal or overpowered

Now that a lot of OP's issues are fixed, I think EggWars is the most fun it's ever been. I LOVE just playing casually now, because there's so much more depth to long games then 'who can get the best gear the fastest", which was incredibly boring. Now it's "who's going to spend their emeralds wisely", or "who's gonna be the guy with the trident and who's gonna be the one who focuses on getting the most OP armor", and whatnot. I'm not a huge fan of Hardcore yet, but it'll grow on me. My main issue was that speedrunning was virtually impossible, but that's fixed now, too. Overall, I think once all the bugs are ironed out, Cubecraft is gonna see the revival it's wanted for quite a while.

I still think speedrunning is slightly ruined. I took it out of the video, but essentially 6 iron rushes and all known rush strats have been badly nerfed or made impossible. Apart from that, I agree with what you wrote

I think they should make a mix of the two (S1 and S2) because, fine. it can't stay the same forever. My idea is for them to keep the whole idea of emeralds and some other stuff that the community likes from the new update and bring back the good stuff from s1. I don't know how exactly they would do it, but you get the idea

In my opinion, the best part of the update was the new blocks and their cost as before, it felt bland as obsidian and terracotta were the only blocks often used in egg defence and by late you would have to cover it in chests to make it somewhat of a challenge to get through. The new system is loads better as there is more block variety and obsidian is costly and effective enough to make it a late game item!

Think the easiest way to describe the update was in the line "we wanted to lower the skill gap". That's fine if that's what the majority of the community wanted it, however it really isn't. Whilst the casual playerbase does likely make up the majority of the playerbase, the skill gap should still exist. Instead of adding new-player-friendly features, it may have been smarter to create a ranked version for the competitive players, eliminating that feeling of being so horrible from the newer/casual players. This goes for all other modes too (mainly skywars). I speak as someone who has both players this game very competitively as well as someone who enjoys the casual side. All competitive games need a high skill ceiling, because as bad as it is for new players to quit, a game will succeed more when there is more to do and improve. Looking at a game like rocket league, who has a skill ceiling so high not even pros have reached it, it is the only reason for it's success. Cubecraft will do better of financially and also will have more loyal players by having a skill ceiling, and their slowly shrinking playerbase is mainly due to a loss of interest in minecraft, meaning the current playerbase are more likely to be people who have played for a while, so why they chose to try to exclude them makes no sense to me.
the problem was that the skill gap was so high that the average casual just ended up dying instantly to some grinder or speedrunner. Also: eggwars, out of all games, isn't one I'd call "competitive". CSGO and Rocket League are esports, they are famously played competitively for large amounts of money and in big tournaments. Meanwhile, "competitive eggwars" is pretty much just a d*ck measuring contest with win streaks and win counts, and only very small tournaments noones ever heard of (I only discovered they exist because of a google search, coz I was about to say there weren't any).
Csgo and rocket league have skill based matchmaking, which, depsite the high skill gap, allows worse players and casuals to keep up much more easily and still have fun. Eggwars doesn't have that, a completely new players gets thrown in the same lobbies as a player with 2000 wins. Games without sbmm CAN'T afford a high skill gap if they intend on keeping players and staying in business, so cubecraft did the right thing by just not bothering with that.
Not sure how exactly how cubecraft will do better financially with a high skill gap. High skill gap means less players, as was proven by the eggwars player counts before the update (for context: before the update, at 10k players online, you'd have 1200-1500 players on eggwars, now its almost half of all the players online at any given time). Less players means less potential buyers of the eggwars rank for example. Less potential buyers means less money. I didn't think I'd have to explain that in business, ALL that matters are the numbers. And a high skill gap, without skill based matchmaking, is very bad for business.
I agree tbh, I’ve been saying the thing for a while if they had to add a ranked mode it’ll make the game a lot better while still accommodating for all skill levels of players. The new update is a perfect example of trying to make the game easy for casual players at the expense of us older players. The damage changes especially ruin the game in my opinion and games now come down to who has the better gear.

I honestly wish cubecraft hosted their servers better as the new update had made my performance terrible as well as the pvp itself was just laggy and disgusting. I still dont understand why they changed the kb as that did not need change. I created a forum saying how they could fix the update and it got many views and likes but they deleted it which definitely had me pissed. I really did not play bedrock because normal queues were just unchallenging so all I played cubecraft for was for scrims. I had no reason to stay with cubecraft either because I play hyperlands and hive scrims as well. Cubecraft unfortunatly changed a gamemode that was somewhat nostalgic and definitely made it ugly. For all those who say "you are just allergic to change," I am not, I just prefer to play other servers with gamemodes that are structured rather than the mess that eggwars is right now. We tried to make it work for scrims but we could never get a good ruleset that would make it fun. I also am high ping and that plus input delay just does not make their case any better. I also get a ton of ghost blocks now and overall I lost interest in the server. It does not bother me too much as I had already stopped playing as much due to my job and school but it was still fun and it is annoying looking back at my old cc clips seeing how much fun it was. Now in my free time I play hive and hyper scrims and I do not see myself playing Cubecraft again unless they have some major fixes.
Yeah I understand that. Kb definitely didn’t need change honestly. Hopefully they find a way to improve performance, cause I see a lot of people complaining about it too. I still think scrims are possible, but we’ll need new metas or to completely reimagine it.

So um a random thought came to my mind and I don’t know if you’ll ever do it or not although it would be awesome to see you do it and why not ask. What if you played egg wars but the hole server was against you and only you and you had to destroy every egg without losing your egg I unfortunately don’t know how to set this up but mabey you can it’s just an idea I really wanted to share and at least see if someone will do it. Most good players in Cubecraft eggwars are switching there favorite game mode from eggwars to skywars and a lot of the Good players also change From Cubecraft To Hive, nowadays when i go to eggwars i see most of the players are nons, they also didn't add Season 2 Leaderboard, and speedrunning is ruined if they can add a 1.19 section for speedrunning it will make more players interested in eggwars again!

I can see why they wanted to refresh the game. The last major update was in 2021, and eggwars was kinda getting dry.
That's about it though. The "we want to give newer players a chance, and make games for experienced players slower" is probably the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. We all started as nons, and eventually climbed up the skill ladder.
I dont know, it just feels rushed and unpolished. Thing is, many of us have barely been playing recently. Many of the old gens have already kinda 'quit' and when they come back to this, combined with the fact that x86 is unsupported, many of them are gonna be like 'I'm not sure if this is worth it anymore'
Dont get me wrong, Im not tryna hate on the devs, just being brutally honest. The update wouldnt be that bad if they make a few changes though, (especially) revert armor back.

I started playing eggwars with this new update now they just updated again with new level of the same pickaxes and swords I thought I hated it but now it doesn’t bother me so much.. still my fav game.
I think the worst part about the update is the new cost to pickaxes. Wish they just kept the same amount for blocks and pickaxes. Netherite is way to hard to mine with iron. I liked the fact that with 5 gold you could counter obsidian. If they just removed wooden pickaxes and set stone to like 10 iron diamond pic 8 gold and netherite 8 diamonds

I don’t like their explanation of balancing for new players. When I was new I started from scratch. Watched your videos to learn how to play better and after a couple months I had improved enough to flawless rush. I met plenty of friends including leaderboard players who are really nice and would teach me anything if I asked. I don’t mind if they keep this game mode in the game but after pouring many hours and money to play eggwars I want to be able to play it and not some shitty version of it.
Side note this is what fortnite did. They added stuff that most of the community hated and it killed the game because they didn’t listen to the community.
This was also terrible timing for the update. “The Pack” recently came back on TH-cam and they were some of the reason eggwars exploded in the first place, and they’re the reason me and some of my friends started playing. Many have been asking them to go back to eggwars but I doubt they will due to the unnecessary complete overwork to eggwars. Eggwars could’ve got a massive player boost and cc would be the most played on bedrock. Instead they turned their back on most of the community and changed something that didn’t need changing
The main thing I don’t like about the update is that in eggwars and even more in skywars the fights are so quick making it seem less about how good you are bc if I hit trade with someone like 3 times and they have a little bit better stuff than I do I’m already dead.

thb they have fixed eggwars a lot since it has come out but i'm still not pleased i still feel as if the game is to appeal to nons and not the actual community the talk in the discords do the events and suport the server with how the game is WAAAAAY to slow and if u don't have shop discounts or not good ones its soooooo hard to rush until u clear at least 4 to 5 bases idk what my recommendation would be i guess if i had to say it would be don't cater the update to just nons they are annoying and have a medium where rushin and what ever the poop nons do can be in the same game or BETTER idea just have the ability to send players back to eggwars season 1 so you can enjoy the game people loved

I was litteraly IN LOVE with the old update. But some changes, just made me quit. For example, a match now takes around 40 minutes in teams of 4, while it once was like a few minutes or something. I just find the update and some changes so frustrating. I'm now only playing Survival Games, that gamemode is acctualy really good right now...

I had an initially negative feedback to the update, until I realised ultimately it did make things more fair with regards to really good players not instantly winning in the first 5 minutes. so good job for fixing that I guess? otherwise it is nice to get a block refresh and stuff.
Ever since the removal of 1.8 cubecraft has been killing itself.
I just hope they add a skill base match-making. It will work like the xp bar, for every game you win you gain xp and for every game you lose you lose xp and also if you didnt finish in top three but you are in the top 50% you neither lose or gain xp.
But then once you get in the higher levels, it will be really hard to find games. I do think there should be more balancing so new players don’t verse sweats, but I think it’s fine if a casual player verses a high level player.

could the devs fix the elytra cause after one use it breaks, idea, give it a reduced durability also could add firework costing one emerald to encourage rushing and overall faster gameplay
The update now is ok. Few tweaks and bugs but they are mostly fixed out. Id like to see a better and faster pick with a relatively lower price. I like how gems give players a reward for actually trying to win the game but you still encounter a team that will rush gold for ancient block and then just sit forever.....yes it means you have to change tactics and i dont mind a longer game but sometimes they can now last 20 mins with that sort of team! It was so bad when it launched i considered quitting but now im ok with it. I would like to see a bit more consitent KB and fixing the fall damage but ill still play and enjoy.

I played the update when it first came out. I absolutely hated it, but after this video I’ll I think I’ll give it one more chance
Great video. Although 3:05 has confirmed many things that especially (Although I shouldn't say since the mods will ignore the rest of my comment) realjaycg has been saying. Cube has now been proved to try and disadvantage skilled players and buff worse players, which fun fact, the update isn't entirely a whole lot slower to speedrun overall, which means that it doesn't really solve the issue they wanted to fix while at the same time making any player who plays the game often hate the game. My list of things Cube should've and should do instead includes
1: QOL fixes (Including bug fixes), including but not limited to downward KB and server lag (Particularly in duels) and health of the winner in chat after they win in a duels game just to name a few easy fixes
2: KB tweaks. Cube KB was fine previously, but a little more vertical would be appreciated by a large majority of the community I'd say. This would not be an issue to the existing community while at the same time attracting players from every other bedrock server which as more vertical KB to at least give CC a shot.
3: Better optimized maps. As amazing as having flowers everywhere is on the outside view of some duels maps, it isn't as amazing for player's FPS, particularly ones already on poor devices. Removing hard to see glass on buildings outside of the map or removing a large majority of unnecessary flowers, grass and water outside of the map could help these players greatly.
4: Private games. Literally been played before on bedrock. I've seen messages from mods say that they didn't want to add them yet because they wanted private games to be highly customizable and unique, but no one really cares. Most people using private games are likely going to use them for competitive reasons and use rule sets that would be based off of obtainable items in a public eggwars game. No one is going to complain that private games were released without some weird items that no one asked for.
5: Fixing the current crit system. Damage is completely broken, especially in OP Warrior kit which is the main kit that was used for raw PVP due to it being a lengthier kit than tank while also not having any blocks or projectiles to any player's disposal. OP Warrior now pretty much feels like tank, which completely defeats the point.
Just some of the ideas for the staff team to hopefully see and consider. I'd also like to add, admittedly removing a better player's ability to win easier is absolutely irrational. There is no point of rebranding the largest game on the largest server on bedrock (previous to the update) because some people simply aren't skilled enough to win. Realistically, most games are maxed out with players who aren't exactly the best at the game, so this update only really takes away the fun from better players and gives players who would play eggwars regardless of the update because they play completely casually a campy game. It's also important to note that known players (Being players in the scrim comm) are going to make videos and advertise the server to larger audiences when they play, as they do with Hive scrims. Making an unsolicited update which is quite clearly disliked by the community will draw away any attraction towards this server in the slightest to any good/competitive players. I know players who I've helped get into the community decide to turn away from starting to play cube because the new update was THAT bad. If any mod is reading this and decides to respond, please do not speak to me about player counts and me being wrong about player counts dropping and how you have heard good feedback from a group of people about the update, either label good and bad parts about my argument and explain why, or message me further at RaisinForABrain#9397 on discord about any of my feedback. 1. 100% this update needs some bug fixes asap, and no temporary fixes, I want to see the big bugs you mentioned GONE for GOOD.
2. KB should not have changed at all. I'm a little upset that it is new again. I was slowly getting better at the kb, and now I've been set back a bit again. Oh well.
3. 100%, with the removal of non-renderdragon support, even PC/laptop players can suffer from performance now.
4. I am not sure why they even promised these "customizable games" because they clearly were never worked on nor exist, yet they released the normal private games to partners again? Idk.
5. Crits are stupid OP yeah. The damage def needs some getting used to or tweaking.
It's too bad that in order to appeal to new players, the good players had to take the fall. I do believe that the game is a big learning curve for people just starting, but if they actually wanted to, anyone can become a pro at EggWars. Just play and watch more eggwars. I even made tutorials recently (that already need to be reworked lol) on how to win for newgens. Thanks for your comment raisin
@@related_noobs Commenting on the last paragraph (since we agree on pretty much everything), becoming a “pro” is pretty much down to being able to jump bridge. Let’s be honest, even with poor pvp, being able to move around the map and catch people off guard early when they don’t have gear is going to win you games guaranteed. Cube needs to realise that people already can become good, they just don’t know how because they lack advice. And np, hopefully my comment gets staff attention and gets forwarded somewhere significant enough to make at least half of the changes

I personally agree with everything said in this video. Currently we are on Season Two of Eggwars. Like Marta and Related said if we ask for different things and there is enough hype for it, it could be reworked.
The main change I don’t like about Eggwars now is the shop prices and how you can get 1.20 items.
The changes they have done to a new player would be amazing, but for a player grinding Eggwars leaderboards, not so much. Like I said in paragraph two, the shop prices make it feel weird.
Then there is the lobby. I know a lot of people love the lobby, but it’s just to dark now. I feel like they added the newer blocks… just to add the newer blocks. I see this done in other maps/lobby’s done, for example Skywars.
Now my question is, could we make a better update? Like Marta said, it’s what we wanted. Here is what I would want to see for Season Three of Eggwars:
1: The old shop prices back, or at least them very similar.
2: Less 1.20+ Items, they added way too many just to add way to many.
3: Remove ancient deberse, who came up with this?
4: Make matches more skilled base instead of input based.
5: Add a leveling up system that could be shown above a players head (If they were to equip it)
6: Make it so we can go back to the top of the frame that is right behind the spawn with the launcher (That’s the best way I can explain it lol)

They need to remove iron costing only 10 iron in overpower, for me it killed overpowered, whenever i see people voting overpowered I immediately leave the game, and other than that i like the update at solo mode (only solo mode)
but then the next tier is diamond, then netherite. It's still balanced.
@@related_noobs if my opponent has netherite armor and i have diamond armor, iam basically screwed, i won’t be able to kill him at all from how op the armor is and when i get near killing him he run away take a golden apple and after that I won’t be able to do anything, it makes the game take much more time and most of the time is gathering resources, currently my strat is getting 16 iron and destroy the first egg and get 7 gold and get an armor and some blocks and going to the next base and after that getting 16 gold and getting an iron armor but the start at overpowered doesn’t work good at all because of how OP it is
you should be able to use your shop discounts to get the gear way faster if you've been rushing the whole game@@Gamedx01
@@related_noobs thats a good point because i got my 50% shop discount and got the armor to be around 60 diamonds, and thinking about it again there is no other way of making it overpowered thats the only way, maybe if they return the protection 4 and sharpness at swords but nothing will really change, i just dont like duos idk why ngl, but it feels slow and the maps feel slow, if they add more maps thats about rush i will like the game more, and if they make more solo maps it will be better
I don’t think this update was good because ever since cubecraft started changing eggwars so much the player count has dropped so much, used to be 30k+ nowadays barely 20k
As a person who start play eggwars on 2019-2020 at first I do get kill like other but I start getting better and better until I am good at the game I noice all the change like the lobby when it’s still just a portal I like the old one more I mean I like the way all item are enchant for old one cuz it’s easier and also they do remove hay bale and I cannot clutch with it also the red stone I mean I do like new one a bit but if they want to keep new egg wars Atleast I want them to made a mode like “Old egg wars” like that cuz I already quit egg wars
