    I appreciate your narration of the thought process as you decided on color choice, and adapted to weather, foul hooking fish, etc. Thanks Ethan!

    My hope is that you don’t give up on catching that 10” Gill this season. By the way, you do a great job of Narrating.

      Are you the fella with the cool boat? If so, we should fish one of these days! Maybe we can even have a friendly bass fishing 1 on 1. Loser brings the beer :)

    Solid tips for set up. I have been using a medium fast for my jerkbait too, but a shorter rod since I’m a short guy.

    Hey Ethan! Loved the content today! Finally got out with the new Mule Minnows and had a day and a half of just lights out action with the 2.2 in several colors. Caught Green Sunfish, Red Breast Sunfish, Bluegill, Crappie and Bass! Love the Minnows and will be order more very soon! Thanks for all you do Ethan! Tight lines my friend.

      It seems pretty solid! I think I will like it a lot for crankbaits!

    I am with you on jerkbait rod selection. I prefer a moderate fast or fast tip on jerkbaits. You have to have the tip to snap that bait. In fact I have a Shimano Itenza as well haha. I don't use it frequently because it's a 7' 6" and it's a bit unwieldy for bank and kayak angling for me. I also agree again with the higher speed reel, since we are moving the bait almost exclusively with the rod and not the reel. The higher speed helps us take up slack quicker. Now I just need to get my cadence down.

      Darn right Tim! Sounds like we have similar taste. Don't overthink the cadence. Focus more so on the pauses and being patient. Keep that bait in the strike zone!

    Another great video and great fish catching right there. So my question is this, is it a lot more easier to do trout fishing than it is bass fishing or is it the other way around. Don't get me wrong here, I do enjoy trout fishing a lot but in a way I'm start getting tired of it. I've been trout fishing since I was 7 years old I'm going to be 52 and I want to try something different this time. I was thinking about bass fishing, i never fished for them, I want to start.

    • @FishAnything

      They are very similar in some ways but totally different in others. I think that both are similar in difficulty depending on where you live/what you're used to. That said, I bet you can start catching a lot of bass if you upsize some of your typical trout techniques and fish the same way in bass waters.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE these! Getting some jerk baits to give it a shot! If you can only buy two...should I go with the flashy gold and one that resembles bluegill? (our main baitfish here in Nebraska)

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since you likely fish a lot of wind and stained water, I would probably get a gold/black back like the one I used and something that is more of a shad pattern. But if you don't feel like shad patterns work well, a natural bluegill color could be good too. Can't go wrong with the KVD jerkbaits for the price. Good luck Justin!

    do you run a snap or tie direct to the jerkbait?

    • @garywest2250
      @garywest2250 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      also, I love the yozuri hybrid line -- I've flipped with it, swam a jig, chatterbait and thrown a buzzbait on it. Good deal.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tie directly to the jerkbait's split ring! Yeah the hybrid seems pretty solid. The only reason I prefer fluoro is that it is a bit more dense and sinks better. Doesn't lift my jerkbait when it needs to suspend.
