- Mr. Henry Reed Jr. has a mission in life that is similar to the mission of the USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service. Just as the agency strives to “Help People, Help the Land,” Mr. Reed also helps people and helps the land in his hometown of Belzoni, Mississippi.

Founder of my faith is from Belzoni Mississippi. When he was a child he was mistreated by his family so he left the home and went and lived by the Yazoo river. This was back in the 1800s. He was born in 1877. His mother had a midwife & the midwife is the one who named him, she named him George Washington because she said he would one day be the leader of people. He traveled to Chicago in his later years and founded the Church I am in now. People talk about Dr. King and the civil rights movement, which is good...But my church was fully integrated well before the Civil rights movement. In fact it was the Caucasian parishioners who bought most of the land (They wouldn't sell to blacks) and turned it over to the church
Uncle Henry and aunt Clara. All my life!
