Literally sets up the c-stand wrong after stating how to set it properly, then continues to set it backwards in nearly every set up after that. If you set c-stands like this guy on a professional film set, you will be replaced the next day. Take it from a grip that works with them nearly everyday.

You mention positioning the light so it will tighten the clamp, and the very next thing you show is a light that will loosen it.
