The solvents in that spray can are very similar to acetone or could contain acetone. Although a bit more difficult to obtain a 2 part polyurethane clearcoat will not dissolve the ink/toner.
You managed to get the paper off of the ink/toner much better than I can. Nice job.

Maybe I can answer some of your questions:-)
    1) What material you try to use as a front does not matter as long it can handle the heat you have to apply. It can be metal, plastic or many other material's.
    2) The best paper you can use is paper with a high gloss like magazine paper, laser photo paper and others so long the paper also can withstand high heat so dont use inject photo paper. For best result try to find some paper that also takes water wary well so it get soaked easy.
    3) You have to use a laser printer because it melts your motive on top of the paper.
    4) How much heat then? You have to apply so much heat that the laser "ink" remelts and sticks to the surface of plastic or metal you want to decorate. Try from 200C / 400F and go up.
    5) When you want to remove the paper you just have to soak the paper in water for 5-10 minuts and carefully remove the paper with your hand or a cloth.
    7) Last try to search for "making circuit bord" or making PCB" there are a lot of great info you may can use.

Did you know there is a drill attachment that nibbles out shapes? One hole and with a template guide away you go, smooth finish within minutes for plastic, aluminium, and mild steel up to 1.5 mm thick..

Any material can be used. The point is to find the suitable iron temperature for your target material through trial and error. After toner transfer, soak the paper with warm water and wait till it disintegrates easily.

    Hi
    Thank you for the video.
One question : is this method working on a Teko aluminium box ?
    Thank you

Wait, a few questions about the first step (or before it). You used a laser printer on what material? Is it proper for this type of job? What is its name? And the most important question, if you want white text and indications on a black chassis / box, what do you do; I have some old synths with white letters and lines worn-out. Thanks

You must use a laser printer (LED toner transfer printer) since toner is actually a thermoplastic powder that melts onto the surface. You can use glossy magazine paper for the transder, most works. You can also buy special PCB toner transfer paper.
Transfer can be done onto most materials. Here it's an ABS enclosure. Polystyrene, polycarbonate, aluminium, stainless steel i believe have all been used with toner transfer.
It is possible to buy white toner powder for laser printer (ghost toner). I cannot promise you that it works!
You may be able to use drag knife cut PVC foil to restore white lettering and graphics on your equipment. You can get the cuts done at every custom T-shirt shop in the city. Then you apply transfer film, use transfer film to apply the cut design to the item, weed out the lettering and graphics to retain the mask, and paint it in. If you can use alkyd resin paint (model "enamel" paint), it takes a few days to final cure but it's going to be robust and is never coming off, but it can be difficult since it likes coming on thick. If you don't have an airbrush and aren't confident in your thinning and brush craft, spray paint acrylic gives a good outcome in a pinch, but isn't as long term durable.
T-shirt shops might give you other ideas as well, they might have multicolour transfer print machines of different kinds. Talk to them.

Nice work! But I was really scared for your fingers when you were drilling. Is there a proper setup to maintain the plastic box while drilling?

WAIT ! You printed on magazine paper, ironed the backside (for heat) and then you were able to leave the laser print behind by washing the paper with warm water ? Really ? No special decal paper ? Wow

So how can you relabel the front of an old vintage halicrafters communications receiver that has a metal case With what I’m assuming is painted on small lettering. The radio I’m working on needs to be repainted but naturally I will lose all the lettering when I sand and prep the face plate.

Use your words, not music. I don't need to see you tape and drill EACH hole. I get the idea. BTW, this is NOT a simple method.

He's from Russia or other Cyrillic alphabet country, you can see it in the newspaper.
So either he would speak his native language, or English with an obvious thicc accent.

Probably a re dubbed or modified text version. Or really bad accent you can't understand. Someone's repackaged version footage.
