- You've got your fire pit and you're ready to go camping. Then, you are confronted with the incident that the firewood you got at a home improvement store or a campsite is "too big. And the tragedy of not being able to light a fire. To solve this problem, we will demonstrate how to chop firewood.

片場鉈の万能型って、キャンピング用品コーナーで売られてますが、何故プロの方が進めない不向きな片刃を売っているのか？と思ったが、万能型って言うだけの事はあり、割れ方が違うだけで、違和感無く薪割りからフェザーなど万能だった。(笑)
初コメントです。キャンプ初心者です。斧やナタよりはモーラーナイフの方が軽くて安全でいいです。バトニングをする時はショックレスハンマーがいいです。
バトニングは斧等が無いときの緊急手段だと思ってるので斧や鉈を普通に振り下ろして割ってました。
実家の風呂がボイラーで

薪屋であえて太いのとか、玉のままの大体、楢売ってもらってフィスカースの斧でパッカンパッカン割ってキャンプ場で、使ってます。
下の台がない時はどうした良いのでしょう？
２０年前、誰も使い方を教えてくれなかったので、適当にやってたら鉈で手を怪我してしまいました。突然割けるとは知らなかったから。それでトラウマになって刃物で薪を割るのが怖くなり、もっぱら炭派＋ガスバーナー派の時期がかなりあり、その後バトニングナイフで薪を割ってたのですが、面倒臭くなってきて、今正しい方法を学び鉈に戻って来ています。遠回りしたけど鉈は良いよ。人類が発明した究極の道具だわ。
