Slap a fancy label on something (wine, clothing, jewelry, etc.), make it artificially scarce, and people will give you their life savings for it just to feel special
The way I see it, despite not by experience (I'm more of a beer guy myself), wine pricing is not correlated with flavor. There were instances when enologists were fooled by switching labels between an expensive and a cheap wine, rating the latter as better because of the "pricey" label. A classic example of the Placebo Effect.
The one time I bought expensive French wine, I ended up hating it. It was way too dry and bitter for my taste. I like moderately dry wines, but this was too much.
@@FruityLittleBoy are you okay (This may be because I'm a lightweight) but there's drunk and then there's wine drunk. It's strong as hell and women drink it like Apple juice

Just buy locally made. People stake their name on the quality. Many many many wine dealers fake wine and these snobs, never notice tge difference until Customs and Excise and tell they've lost money.
Brand image, brand loyalty and brand awareness. Plus their a and b socio economic target demographic of system one thinkers means They can charge a high price.
Why would you want to reduce the tannin? My great-grandfather wrote a book on wine making, covering everything from washing the barrels, through picking the grapes to pressing and aging the juice. If you follow his advice you get 16% AbV tannic red wine that the Thracians were famous for back in the day.
I bought a lot of I guess cheap to midrange ($10-$25) wines. It’s all pretty much the same. Best bang for your buck is the bota box. I did drink some authentic Italian red wine. That stuff was good! Probably $10 a bottle in Italy. Had a friend in military. Had like 500 bottles shipped back home with him after his tour.
Like anything else, buying the cheapest available automatically causes low quality, but at more than about twice the el-cheapo price, you're just paying to show off, "hey look, I either am or am pretending to be rich!".
Fools and their money are easily parted, idiots will always pay those insanely extortionate prices so the prices will continue to rise, the wine itself will always remain the same.
Screw adding sugar into wine. in Georgia (Country) We have the most natural wine we have sweet grapes and we don’t add sugar or any other chemical. Plus we have on of the oldest history of winemaking. Oldest wine bottle ever found was found in Georgia. And also we donmt drink wine as any other country.
Is the regular Joe able to taste that vanilla, cherry or whatever flavors producers say their wine tastes of? I most certainly can't! How do you folks feel about this?
supply and demand decides the price of everything. if you want this explined better you need to know what increases and decreases supply and what increases and decreases demand
Why no one talks about Moldova it’s the fifth largest distributor in the whole world while having just 3 million people it also has some amazing and cheap wines
It's just a placebo effect. If you just tell wine experts "its expensive" they'll compliment it, even if it costed you two bucks. You really cant tell differences between regular and expensive
Something funny is going on here... I just found out about two buck Chuck from a Mashed video published yesterday. Here Chuck gets a mention as well, but I doubt it is undisclosed sponsoring since Infographics takes a long, long time to produce. Not sure what my point was, maybe I need a drink.
If you buy bottle of wine for 2 € or less in local store... you buy just water with all possible concentrates and no grapes. After this crap you will have next morning nasty headaches. After liter or two of good wine you will be next morning just thirsty.
Do you drink wine? Which is your favorite? When do you usually consume it?
Sangria
Anything red
I don't care for wine that much. I do enjoy a nice Moscato or Roscato.
0:48 $19,327 per bottle?

Evariste Galois 19,327$? That’s not enough to buy my fortnite account.

*How to make wine:*
1. Get some grapes
2. Do a surgery on a grape
3. Enjoy

I usually spend about $12-15 on a bottle of wine. A good wine is one that taste good!

This answered a question I never expected to aggressively wonder.
A customer gave me a 200$ bottle of wine for Christmas, I'm saving it for a special occasion
So did you drink it? How was it?
🍷 cheers...
Come live in Spain. You can get some real good bottles of wine for less that 10 euros or even 5. It's friggin ace!
I'll just add a few hundred nines in front of my bank account's value so I'll be able to afford that ;D

Been horking 20% fortified wines lately, tastes like Buckley's Mixture, but it works!
i like how wine slowly turned into "woyne"

Have you not heard of the country french and Italian in this video.....

I think you made mistake around 4:55 just listen to see if it makes sense.
Distributors mark it up so high because wine is a luxury item, so people are more likely to buy it the less "cheap" it is (to an extent of course)
I don’t pay more than $15 for wine 🍷
Stella Artois rules !!!!!!

the price of grapes decides the price of wine

Lucky Duck wine can be found for $2.99 at Walmart and is one of the best tastes I’ve found
In Malaysia... We have ketum (keratom)
Wouldn’t it just come down to the: company, the grapes, age, where and how its made, and where its sold??
Drinking to much wine can lead to pour decisions, such as crushing grapes but don’t worry because they just let out a little wine.
A liquor store with a 50% markup is making a killing. I do 25-35%
