Of the 1000's of "Watch me act like I'm fixing this" videos, this one is by far the most comprehensive and in-depth one. Thanks

Not only is the content of this video a great resource, but the description and times stamps should be a TH-cam standard. I don't watch these videos to get out of the Sun. I watch them to find out what I need to do to get "Back out into the Sun"! Thanks for saving me a bunch of time. GREAT WORK!!!

Yeah! Just like other people have said; comprehensive explanations of how to go through a mower, or any small gas motor. Thanks!! I have a 25 yr old murray, 4.5 hp briggs, left outside, rusty deck( still safe) but still runs great because of folks like you. Still starts with 1 pull. Gotta find a deck somewhere soon. Any how, my son says “ just get a new mower?!” I’m like, “ you kidding me! Fix something once, you get hooked! “ I’ll try to keep this thing running until it falls apart. Haha. Thanks again!

Dude, this is by far the best lawnmower repair video in all of TH-cam. You pretty much troubleshooted every part of the machine and fixed it one by one. I just fixed my lawnmower myself yesterday (nothing big, just the carburetor) and it felt great, especially knowing that I saved myself $85 dollars from repair shop. I'm a do-it-yourself kind a guy and I love learning how to fix stuff. I sure did learn a lot from your video. Excellent job!

I have been looking for a TH-cam video that would help me fix my Briggs and Stratton mower. I've looked at a bunch but my friend you have the best repair video out there. Thanks for providing such detail and pauses for clarification. I was about to throw my mower in the trash because I had tried everything. But because of your video I decided to try something you suggested. No one I mean no one has a video about looking into a sheared key on the flywheel. When took it apart sure enough half of the key was in the flywheel and half was left on the shaft. Changed the key out and it started up like New. Hallelujah! Thank you very much and I have shared this video with numerous friends. Tremendous help.

That was fantastic. Thank you so much for making this video. My boys have their own lawn care business and they need to keep knowing how to service their lawn mowers. They are only 13 and 11 years old but they are really good kids. This will really help them to make sure they diagnose and repair their mowers. Once again thank you so much for the in-depth coverage on how to.

My Dude!!! Luck would have it I own the exact same mower and your little fix it guide will get me up and mowing in no time. Had to do some part number research but helpful doesn't scratch the surface of what this vid does. I appreciate you talking like, (and to) an adult not spending 5 minutes explaining the function of a screwdriver and the righty tighty rule. One more thing I KNEW IT!!! I bought mine used as well and thought it was odd there was no throttle cable, huh!!! It'll have one today I'll tell ya! THANK YOU!

Excellent attention to detail. Now let me tell you something. I love my electric lawn mower. Thing is great.
It's as light as a kids plastic push toy. So you don't need no power assistance. I think even an old grandma could push it. No noisy engine. Just a sweet whirr. If I feel like stopping and doing something else-no problem. Just let go of the handle. To start just push the button and grab the handle.
No struggling to start the thing EVER-NEVER-EVER.
And the coolest thing of all is the smell. Nothing but sweet smelling grass smell. You really got to experience the way it smells. It makes you want to mow the lawn even more.
The only fall back is the dang electric chord. It's easy to get a rhythm. Even when going around trees etc. You just work each section in squares. Go back and forth and don't go backwards.
I had one many years ago but I made the mistake and sold it. Now I got one for $60 at flea market from friend.
If I don't sell it, it will probably last the rest of my life.

Hands down 1 of the best how to videos on youtube. 2 small oversights that I saw. There is a washer that goes inside the starter cup and it makes a difference on how it goes in. It has a small curve to it and it goes down. It locks the cup to the flywheel and won't spin when you tighten the nut. When securing the nut you showed the coil instead of the blade brake looking for the correct depth so to speak for the flywheel to seat on the shaft. The coil should never rub on the flywheel.. Thats it for me, from 1 wrencher to another, outstanding video and you set the bar very high 👍

I just wish I could have lived near you and your family . I would have really enjoyed seeing you and picking your brains of every little detail. Thank you for this video. It is very through and detailed. I learned a lot watching this video. Gave me somethings to look in to on mine. I have a Troy-Bilt 34345 with B&S 6HP from 1998 it still runs and looks new. It stalled out on me while mowing and I think the ignition system is at fault. I am waiting for my parts to arrive to further troubleshoot. I just want to say thank you, I wish I found this years ago!

Thanks, I have this same B & S engine. Running ethanol laced gasoline, even running with Sta-Bil all the time, I know I will be rehabbing the carb some day. I bought the carb rebuild parts, a lacking inline fuel filter ( clippings always manage to get into the tank ), extra replacement primer bulbs and a few other upgrade and maintenance parts from B & S online when the mower was new. LOL, 12th year and I am still waiting.

This should be required viewing for anyone posting a "how to" video on youtube: No BS, no kids interrupting the video, no "um, um, um, um, um", he fast forwards through the tedious parts like taking out the screws and bolts. Clear, concise, to the point and quickly to the point. Furthermore, it is a complete diagnostic journey. I can't tell you how many "how to" videos i've seen where I shut them off 2 minutes in because they are unbearable and the poster spends 10 minutes explaining what could take 1 minute. To "familytime" send me your postal address and i'll mail you a T-handle for your tap as a thank you!

Hi There, You Done A Good Job. One Thing Everyone Should Do Is Put A bit Of Never seize On The Crankshaft Where The Blade Adapter Goes On. It Will Save You A Lot Of Problems In The Future If You Need To Remove It Again. If You Wash Your Deck Underneath ,Water will Get Into Everything. Moisture From Wet Grass Left On The Underneath will Cause RUST. I'm Not Knocking Your Video By Any Means. I Noticed a Lot Of Oil Under The Deck, Which Will Make Your Drive Belt Slip, It Could Have Been Cleaned with Some Degreaser. The Oil Leak Could Be A Bad Oil Seal On The Bottom Of The Motor Or They Have Spilt Oil On The Mower and It Has Run Down And The Blade Has Spread it as It is Going Around. The Engine Sounded as If It Was Surging a bit. ( Not Getting Enough Fuel ) Other Then That You Done A Great Job, Thanks For The Video

Super amazing effort on this production. I've got an old high performance mower that I spent all day on, getting nowhere trying to start it. I treat all my equipment like gold. I didn't know about the "key" thing under the pull cord. Then I remember, I have loaned it out a couple of times. Maybe somebody hit something. I'm gonna check that tomorrow, and hopefully the "timing" thing is it. If not, thank you anyway. Very helpful and useful information presented so well.

Wow..I am not into motors and don't even have the proper tools to fix the machine. I came to this video because my lawn mower is hard to start (it does start after a few tries) but the engine keeps cutting for a fraction of a second until it dies. Then I need to wait for the machine to cool down until it starts again.
Anyway, this is the most thorough troubleshooting video I have ever seen. Excellent...and you are a great mechanic whoever you are.
Gave me a few tips to try it on my lawn mower tomorrow.
    Thanks.

Most helpful video on fixing lawnmower engines/small engines. My son bought a cheap Honda G150 second hand and he is trying to fix it up, hopefully this video has a few tips and tricks that he could use.

Great video my man. Very informative. I have worked on lawn mowers a lot of years having to learn all this the hard way, but the way you break this info down, I believe a beginner can troubleshoot one after watching this. Good job dude!

Mine was driving me nuts. Took it apart 6 times and replaced almost everything. Still couldn't figure out why it was running so poorly. After watching your video I saw mine had the same problem as yours, the flywheel key was sheared. Thanks to your video it runs like new.

Thank you so much for this video, I needed a detailed video and spent two days reading and browsing. This should be at the top of trouble shooting lawn mowers!
The thing that really makes this video exceptional is "what could be wrong" when you are explaining things. Love it! Exactly the info I need and want!

Very good video. Perfect for a guy like me who just wants to fix his own machines 'cause he does. I'm sure there's all kind of weird problems and little finesses that an experienced small-engine mechanic must know, but this gets me well-started. Thank you.

Hey Mon Ami here is a little trick for you , I use charcoal lighter fluid cans for adding gas in a carb. I put gas in them and just squirt a lil in the carb.
Way better than using starting fluid.
I have one for 2 strokes and one for Lawn mowers .

You have those videos that say "it's the spark plug." Then you have people that take 40 minutes out of their life to help people that need to fix their equipment. Most in-depth video on this topic I've seen.

When a briggs key is nicked even a small amount they will be out of time.... I used to use a large screwdriver under the edge of the flywheel and apply pressure against it upward push screwdriver downward then sharp tap on end of drive shaft will usually pop the flywheel off... be careful and don't beat the end of the shaft into a mushroom...get a new key where you buy your parts...a n original part key is soft to allow for shearing, to protect the engine... if you put in a steel key you defeat the purpose
