  • Crantock is a village situated around a mile south-west of Newquay in Cornwall. It is located on the Gannel Estuary and is most famous for its beach, Crantock Beach, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
The village of Crantock itself is a typical village with a pub, shop, church, chapel, and a village hall. There are also a few thatched cottages in the village, something which is pretty rare in Cornish villages.
The name Crantock is named after Saint Carantoc, the patron saint of the village and who the village parish church is dedicated to.
The parish of Crantock is surrounded half by water (that of the sea and the River Gannel) and half by land. It is bordered by the parishes of Newquay and Cubert.

I used to holiday here as a child. Beautiful then and now. I haven't been back since I was 16. Must make it a priority before departing this realm. I can't believe the Albion pub is still there. The beach is gorgeous and used to walk up the Gannel at low tide. Wonderful memories. Thank you. From Sharon.

Quite a few are holiday homes according to Google Maps. Probably all owned by the same company.

Thanks for watching. That door is actually the entrance to a holy well, which would by far be the oldest thing in the village at approximately around 2,000 years old. The door is much more modern though, not sure when it dates from, but probably not extremely old.
