Tiffany is the queen of improving. Back in the ol' snsd days she got several vocal cord surgery due to straining her vocal when singing high notes, and she got bashed a lot. But after she went back to the US she worked on her vocals with the people she's comfortable with and know her voice better, her technic is skyrocketing, and her experience with chicago the musical helped her a lot too in terms of performance, attitude and also her vocal. She's now in ease to sing whatever notes she wants. She understands her voice now.
Oh wow, I had no idea she had went through all of that! I'm glad she was able to overcome all of that and find the method that worked for her, because she definitely has a beautiful voice as I'm now realizing.
@@CericcReacts yes her tone is the most distinctive in SNSD, esp her lower-mid register, she's got that huskiness and power in her voice, she got that influence from US pop divas back in the 90's-early 00's. So her approach in style of singing is very different compared to those who grew up in korea.

The thing about SNSD is that there are too many good vocalists that you really might miss out on the others. Tiffany has her own charms when singing and you can really see her improvement even after 10-15 years of her career. I'm happy you appreciate her, she's definitely one of the less appreciated vocalists in the group along with Sunny. There's also the intro to TTS's song called Dear Santa with this really nice harmonization. 😊
That's definitely true! The member I focus on changes often, even back when I was working through their MVs. I'm surprised Tiffany is one of the less appreciated in the group. I can definitely see her improvement look back now, but she never had bad vocals. She's definitely showcasing her vocals here though. And I do love that intro! I'm ready to listen to "Dear Santa" again, but I'm trying to hold off until December lol.
I think for this one, they were going for a completely natural acoustic vibe. They didn't want the vocals to sound processed at all so had them basically singing w/o mics (though they were recording and probably had mics nearby). I do think it makes the vocals sound a bit off, especially since the room they were in probably wasn't the best suited for hearing their vocals, but I get what they were going for. You bring up good points. I guess the more mics you have, the more mixing you have to do, if for nothing else, to level the volume. The room would definitely benefit from some acoustic sound panels.
