    Just discovered you. Follow a couple of fb pages. You have a very unique opportunity with this kind of content. I’d love to learn more about these machines you make. Keep that camera rolling for us.

    Why lower timing?? Or is it about ignition timing?

    • @marthamryglod291
      @marthamryglod291 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It tends to move the power down the rpm range and that works better with the single speed, compared to cvt scooter transmissions

    Sir I have a question for you I live in Texas and I have a cast iron minaralli cylinder it's getting close to 340 degrees was told that is to hot so couldn't find any available answers so I purchased a athina cylinder do you think it will run cooler and in the cast iron minaralli I'm using a window piston was going to use the Reed valve just switch it over but the athina doesn't come with a window piston so I ordered a zada 47mm window piston will it work the cast iron and the athina look alike other than 1is aluminum and 1 is cast iron any assistance would be appreciated

      I haven't tried it yet but I wanted to make some diy air scoops out of aluminum for the head & maybe also cylinder sides to help with cooling...Years ago on air cooled dirt bikes, they'd use air scoops to help with cooling & they worked. Like Buell use an air scoop on their oil cooling radiator & I think an air scoop to get more airflow across the rear cylinder. On air cooled Harleys the rear cylinder always wears out faster than the front one/lack of air flow.

      The Athena sport kit comes with the piston u want to run, u don't need a windowed piston, get a minarelli reed block, an good luck, p.s. aluminum cylinder #1👽👍🚲💥💨💨🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴p.s. run the shit outta oil, I'm still using 5.2 onces/6 ounces to gallon, an she loves it, faster u go, more oil u need, 60+ mph🏁

      @@Op1zilla thanks for answering my question I think I found the problem with the 1 I Bought complete when I first put it together I noticed that the piston was lower than in my pk80 and she right to the top with a high performance compression head same thing I put on the cast iron minaralli I would get 55ish compression when I checked the minaralli the cast iron 1 I got like 26 psi I think that's what's making it run hot and spit and sputtering when your going around 20mph and around 25 to 30 she's gone I've had it up to 50 short rip but just cruising around 30 or even 20 after a few miles she's hot like redline for these engines 340 that's why I Bought the athina aluminum minaralli to hopefully run cooler and sir you just answered my question about what piston to use was kinda speculating about the 1 ring Italian piston even though when you measure it with a pair of calipers it's exactly 47mm a zada window piston isn't even that accurate there like 46.6mm anyway bro thanks for the info on the athina decision made easier stay safe

    Where can I get myself a custom exhaust made for my YD 100?

    • @marthamryglod291
      @marthamryglod291 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No one makes one specifically for the yd100. If we can get the port timing and exhaust ports length and dimensions, a specific pipe can be made for the motor. There's chainsaw guys on TH-cam that can make a pipe with the information given

    Very true, don't buy cheap Chinese junk and hope it's good. it only benefits the Chinese, not the consumers.
