    Just installed this kit on my 22 Northstar Ultimate. I did not get the ride command because of supply chain issues and needed a stereo. I took my time and got it installed in about 6 hours. Rockford made it so simple with everything being plug and play and this video was a tremendous help. It’s sounds better than I could ever imagine and blows everything else away- ear numbing loud. I’m glad I went with RF, it looks like a factory installed system and fits perfect.

    I just installed the Stage 6 kit on a 2023 Crew Ultimate. Although RF don't list 23's fitment yet, this kit does work. A few screw sizes were different than listed in the video. Also, there is a HF Antennae mounted where the AMP goes under the hood. After removing the brackets, I had to relocate the HF Antennae and "cut out" the mounting location it was screwed to (plastic). It wasn't very difficult to do, but did take 7-8ish hours install time.

      I removed the old bracket screws and put the RF bracket on top of the old brackets as a spacer. It fits well enough and I didn’t have to cut the plastic under the hood.

    Just installed this kit on my 22 NorthStar Premium. I found the video extremely helpful and it had very few (minor) inconsistencies with actual installation experience. Easy installation but time consuming; took approximately 7 hours and 5 Coronas to complete. Sound quality exceeds expectations and fit/finish is flawless. One recommendation for RF: throw in some double sided tape for the Ride Command STG6 packages since users need to move the RC GPS unit off to the side to install the AMP in its place, and there is not an easy way to screw the GPS unit down without disassembling the headlights and fenders; double sided tape should suffice. Throwing in a couple extra push pins wouldn't hurt either in case installers drop them into unreachable spots :).

      We really appreciate your feedback Joe! You’re right, a few extra pieces should would help in case something accidentally falls into the dual intake ports located under the hood… not that I would know anything about doing something like that! I mean, who doesn’t want to spend an extra 40 mins recovering a push pin that’s rattling inside an intake tube, right?

    Got mine installed last night. The cable for the sub is long enough to mount it under the rear seat, which puts it completely out of the way. It sounds as good as having under the front seat. I turned the system on and it sounded much better than the factory speakers - then I turned off the factory preset on the amp and did some tweaking, and NOW it sounds really good. I did have to call RF tech support with some questions since the 2023 model has changed a few things, and they were native English speaking people - I actually spoke with the guy that’s in charge of the install manual (what manual?) just before his meeting about having an available print manual. I thought the video was great, but I like having a manual I can look through, Etsy’s watching the same video segment 15 times to figure out what to do.

      Glad you're enjoying the system and appreciate for your feedback. For others reading this, we use the PRESET switch on the amplifier to use Rockford Fosgate's internally configured Gain Overlap for SXS systems, providing the best performance output (loudness) combined with long-term speaker reliability. If there are any sections of our instructional videos that were not clear, we're always happy to read feedback so we can make continual improvements to them. -Eric

    Amplifier Bracket install mine looks different I have Ride Command and there is GPS with a decal this side towards sky where the amp goes?
    Haven’t started the install yet.

      You'll want to move the GPS receiver over to the right and tape it or velcro it down. Rough-in the new bracket and amplifier to make sure the new GPS receiver doesn't interfere.

    Do you have a video of how it sounds and also how do you compare it to the stage 4 that comes from factory?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  ปีที่แล้ว

      These are High Performance audio systems and turning on the system and walking away doesn't convey the Sound Quality and Loudness when many are listening on tiny laptop speakers or mobile devices. These are also totally different from the Factory Equipped Systems, as we pick-up at Stage-4 where the factory system leaves off. The factory system features a 400W amplifier, whereas the aftermarket Stage-4/5/6 all include a 1,500W amplifier.

    Kit looks sick! Will you guys be up in NH This August for the Journey to Jericho event? Same location as Camp RZR East a couple years back . You guys had a killer booth setup there last time. We would love to install this kit on our 2022 Polaris North Star Ultimate Trail Boss!

      We currently don't have Jericho on the event calendar but our team in marketing is always looking at events where we can interface with fanatics! Does Dirt Exhibition have a Ranger? What Year/Model?

    I got my kit a while ago and just got my 23’ Northstar trailboss. Just unboxed the kit and I never got the provided rubber grommets or hole saw bit? Am I missing this or is it not provided anymore?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @lau2306, did you find the hole-saw and grommet in the woofer enclosure package? If not, I have a replacement hole-saw available to ship you. The grommet required is 1.75" diameter cutout. If you need the hole-saw, please send me an email to ce@rockfordcorp.com with your shipping address. - Eric

    Is a 2 seat and 4 seat ranger the same Stage 6 kit? Also can you add a 2nd subwoofer under the rear seat using the same amp to power both? Seen it comes with leads for both front and rear seat installations with verbiage of future upgrade. What is the part number for the sub only to add the 2nd sub woofer or is there a kit with 2 ? Thank you

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the same STG6 kit can be used on 2-seat and 4-seat Rangers. You can see the compatibility chart here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/rngr18-stg6/
      Yes, the same amplifier can be used to power 2 subwoofers. The M5-1500X5 amplifier has a dedicated sub channel, so when you wire both subs to a 2Ω load, it creates a 1Ω amplifier load. You can find more info on the subwoofer add-on here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/rngr18-fwe/

      So with two M2D4-10IB set both subs to 2ohm not 8ohm?

  • @gem1n12

    Do you remove the factory amp that came with the ranger? My Northstar came with an amp and I’m only seeing amp 2 and subwoofer factory pigtails.

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can leave the amplifier in the Ranger. I mention how systems with factory amplifiers have only 2 connectors at timecode 09:00 "Ride Command Factory Amplifier Notes" and it shows how to connect them. The amplifier INPUT SWITCH is already defaulted to "2CH", so this will allow the AMP2 connector to feed all 4 channels of the amplifier, while the SUB input sends signal to the SUBWOOFER channel.

      I have the same, but when plugged into amp 1 it only has sound from the front speakers.

    Can you install the sub under the rear seat instead of the front seat?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can. The harness is designed to connect a subwoofer in both the front and rear, so if you're using one, you can choose the location.

    I'm not really interested in the color optix feature. In fact, that feature is the only reason I'm hesitant to purchase this system. Can I simply leave out the color optix controller to not use this feature, or do you have a plug and play system like this without color optix? Thanks

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can actually either turn the Brightness on the App to 0 (zero) that effectively turns the LEDs off, or just don’t connect power to the Color Optix module.

      So I can estimate installation time? It would be about 4x the real world estimate due to camera setups, lighting, etc..
