Rick the longer the better for the videos. Being handicapped I love watching you guys out doing the things I used to. I know how you feel about old vehicles. Right now I have a 41 plymouth business coup with about 80 thousand mi on it. My mother paid 40 dollars to a another nurse she worked with at the va in Reno. I used to lay on the shelf behind the seat and watch the drive in movie. I was 3 yrs old and I am now 64. I would not take any thing for that little car. Rick you and the little lady stay safe and please keep the videos comin. PS sorry about the length of this post.
+Randy Musick No need to apologize for the length of your comments my Friend. I read them all and I enjoy them all....well, unless someone is just having a bad day and using me as their batter-board. I totally understand your connection with your '41 Plymouth and don't blame you at all. Anyone who can trace their connection to a vehicle back 61 years has every right in the world to hang on to it. I'm glad you like the longer videos. With all the work we are trying to get done, it is easier for me to just compile all the footage into longer videos once every three or four days. Good news is I am trying to upload CTR 11 right now and it is one-hour and 40-minutes long. Bad news is that it blew up my computer while I was sleeping. I've cleared up some disc-space and am going to try to upload it again while I am out working on the new property today. Thanks Again Fer Watchin', -Rick
Rick, you made me sound old as dirt LOL. I have been in the wrecker business for 25 years, but it does feel like 60. I know you are busy. but if you get a few minutes search "Wrecker Built From Scrap Parts" on you tube for a video of the last wrecker I built. Glad to see you are getting everything moved, if I was close I would bring a few trucks and get everything hauled in a day. Thanks Jonathan
+Jonathan W That was some really nice work you did on that wrecker. I like the way you put all of that stuff together and made it look 'Factory-Built". Very nice work. Sure would be a handy piece of equipment for Classic Truck Rescue right now. Thank you Jonathan and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
'Make Do and Mend'. Lovely to see in today's throwaway society. Loving these videos, a little window on someone else's life 8000 miles away. You lovely people!
+Brian Damaged Thank you Brian. You are going to see us using 'A LOT" of what was destined to be thrown away. We aren't rich, but know what we need to do to get it done. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' my Friend. We think you are pretty darned Lovely too. -Rick
Yeah buddy! Homer gets some love, and a plethora of posts and wire!!! Lookin' good! Nice of the weather to cooperate too! Keep on keepin' on, CTR !! 8^}
+azautoxr We WILL keep on keepin' on my Friend. The weather sure isn't cooperating today, but that won't stop the progress. Heck, after dealing with those containers, what's a little rain, mud, snow, ice gonn'a do to stop us? Just kidding, we only have the rain and cold to contend with today. Thanks Again Fer Watchin'. -Rick
hey rick, great to see ya'll making more progress on gettin to your new home site and what a welcomed deal on all the fence post and wire.deals like that don't come along too often.glad to see everything comin together for you and jamie.
Wow Rick,,You really know how to Haul & Drop off a Heavy Load...lol ,,,& Im not talk'n about after eating Taco's from a paper bag.....LOL...Love seeing them ol trucks!!!
Thank you for the video. Like I say on all of em, i love watching these! Bully and homer really are a great team and did awesome moving that container! Hope you guys are doin alright! - Ben
Well Rick just got done watching ur video it's 2:00 am got to get some sleep going for more wood tomorrow morning will talk to later enjoyed ur video. Got to get some rest. Worked on getting my spares with some better tires on them.god bless to u and Jamie. Laters
+Patrick Salazar God Bless you also My Friend. Don't overdo it on the Firewood. that's some hard work. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you Patrick and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
+Classic Truck Rescue good morning Rick well I got up to where I was getting wood from and the forestry locked the gates to get into the forest. I need to find out how ur get so lucky my friend it send like I have the worst luck in the world. I like the way Jamie says that she should get Annabella to help u with the truck. ThT had me laughing for a few minutes. Yea it's a good thing u got under homer Man U could have dropped that drive line and it would have been like being on a bucking bronco man homers ass end would have jumped up in the air. Lmao yea those carrier bearings are not coming off when they have been on for as long as they have been on those driveline with out torching them off or a good press. The same thing happen to me on my 77 Chevy years ago. Yea u got a good luck with the fence and fence post I never have luck like that I'm glad u got everything u needed and plus more. Pass some of that luck down here to New Mexico.love the video I finally got my fix.lol god bless.
+Patrick Salazar I don't look at it as luck My Friend. I too have always had bad luck. I attribute my good fortune to God. I pray to Him daily and He Blesses me with what I need. The key for me is to try to make sure I pray for what I need more often than I pray for what I want. I am also glad the carrier bearing was noticed and dealt with before it did something amazing. that is the kind of amazing I don't like to have happen. As far as that good luck, best thing I can do for you is say "May God Bless you my Friend. Thank you, -Rick
+Patrick Harris We really are living the dream my Friend. We do thank God for the opportunity. I do need to use more knee and less back. God Bless you also Pat. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
it was a good thing that you found that bad berring and its good that you have homer back on the road to haul all them trucks to there new home looking good all the best big pete
+peter donaldson Yup, I'd hate to think what could've happened if that thing had let go while Homer was cruising along at 50 with a load on. Thank you Big Pete and Thanks Again Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Rick, your a lucky man my friend! A great woman, loving your life and living in a place with beautiful scenery! You are truly blessed! Keep up the great work, look forward to every video.
I have to say , you guys have an amazing life... My hats off to you both and wish U all the best . These You tube vids of restoring and finding old vehicles are absolutely amazing ...You collect GM trucks and American made vehicles , access them and make them available for people that would enjoy to own and restore.... That is a Good thing ... Cheers Alberta Dave
Ya outta tell Homer to stop flappin his fenders. LOL! Glad you found that drive shaft problem before it was too late. That could have ended badly. lol Which reminds me I should go and see how mine is under my 64 GMC! lol!
+Military Chevy Yeah, better crawl under there and "Check it before ya wreck it"...You are right though, that would have ended badly. And I DID tell Homer to stop flappin' his fenders. Thanks Again Fer Watchin'. My Friend. -Rick
Well Rick and Jamie I'm glad I got to know u guys as much as I could. I got my self in a bind so my phone will be turn off. I enjoyed watching u guys and wish u guys the best hope u guys get everything u want and keep the faith when I get out of this bind I'll be back. What sucks is it wasn't me who put myself in the bind I'm in family suck sometimes. Well may god bless u two take care of eachother. Thanks for everything my friends till I can get back on my feet again. Laters
+Patrick Salazar Sorry to hear you are in a bind right now my Friend. I will keep you in my prayers. Just remember to stay positive and do all you can to improve your situation. I have found that it really does help. We will miss you, so don't stay away long. Thank you, God Bless you, and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
You are sure getting a lot done. . That was sure a great deal on the fence post, if it is all going to the land fill out there, if it was me I would go back and get what ever I could, better to be used then fill a land fill with it.
+Ron Buskirk I wish we could've got more of the posts, but we actually spent a lot of time running back and forth to that place getting loads and the people who took over that place on the 1st of December weren't happy with the previous tenants and we kind of reached our drama-limit with the container fiasco, so we decided to just be thankful for what we DID get and start focusing on moving trucks. Thank you Ron and Thanks Again Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Great video Rick keep up the good work. It great to see someone fix things from what you have around the yard. Not everyone can run to the local store to pick a part up. Good job on Homer.
Not to bad of a repair on Homer/ Hardest working wreaker in show biz/ no joke. You've made a lot of progress in a short time. That fuel tank looked like it had always been on that truck.lol God bless.
Partway into that video I was ready to grab my overalls and mud boots and fly out there. You guys are so hard-working! Keep doing what you're doing. Bless you both, I guess I should say all three with father John. That power stroke sounds awesome.
+Hugh Jenlong Seems like muck boots are all I ever wear anymore...seriously. Good news is that the callouses I have on my fingers from lacing-up regular work boots have receded. Thank you for your support and God Bless you as well Hugh. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Dave Webster Jamie just comes up with stuff like that all the time. We do have a lot of friends in Canada. Always a good time when they come down to get a truck-load of parts and have a Barbecue with us. Cheers Dave. -Rick
+Robert Perrigo I know. Makes me cringe when I think about paying almost $8 a post at "Owe'm Depot" for those six posts that got smashed under the container. But then, it also made me aware of what a bargain-blessing the almost 1,000 I got from that old farm were. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Robert. -Rick
+Brid chvtruck It takes a little longer to get things done when I am "Pushing the rec button", but our viewers have been with us since "Day-1" on this project and I just feel like you guys are entitled to enjoy the whole ride. Lots of support and encouragement from our viewers the whole way. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin'. -Rick
+iamrichrocker She really IS cool. Jamie just says what she feels and I love it. She often sings old-school advertising jingles from commercials when a certain situation is fitting and it always makes me smile. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' my Friend. -Rick
Howdy Rick and Jamie....That was a real deal on them posts and wire, and they look like good posts. The Progress continues, along with all the hard work, but you guys are makeing it look easy. Are you guys going to be on the new property for Christmas? So many trucks, So little time....The smartest man I ever knew told me, " A man with a purpose, no matter how difficult, Is always happy" I think that is YOU. Looking forward to the next video, God is with you, And it shows.
+joel mccoin You kind of nailed it. What we are doing really is a lot of hard work, but it is work we are more than happy to do. We put a lot of work in to the place we are currently at because we were planning on being here for five years. Our lease being taken over behind our backs turned out to be a Blessing, because had that not happened, we never would've found our new property. Now the work we are doing is for us, not for someone else. Yes, we will be on the new property by Christmas, and a Merry Christmas it will be my Friend. thank you Joel, God Bless you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin'. -Rick
I'm thinking I'd have brought Punkin out there with forks on him, trailered behind Bullfrog, and just loaded up ALL of those fenceposts (no matter how many loads it took)! The ones I didn't need for fencing would have made for KILLER firewood!
Pretty sure that VW powered machine is an over the row fruit picking machine. Pretty amazing really I knew they used a lot of VW engines in industrial applications didn't realize they made it into agriculture too!
+MISTERComaToes It was pretty cool. You are right too. I talked to an old guy out there who said it was used for harvesting raspberries, which is probably also what our fence posts were used for. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
+Russ Newton I think you are right. I asked a guy out there about them and he said they were for harvesting raspberries, but I think they use them for grapes too. thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin' Russ. -Rick
wow i'm the 1st commentator. You are blessed to receive all those posts and wire for $350. not counting the fuel tank and water tank. Did you get the well pump. Also you are blessed that Jamie and Homer told you there was a problem with the carrier bearing. Keep being blessed brother and we'll see you on the next video.
+Glenn Bell I was unable to get the well pump. It was too heavy for 3-men to lift out. We looked above us and saw where a hole had been cut in the roof so it could be installed with a crane. Still happy for what we were able to get. You are right, it was a Blessing. Yes, glad I got the head's-up from Homer and Jamie about the carrier bearing. Could've been ugly. God Bless you as well Glenn and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Ryan Rawrgera I will when I can. It takes a very long time to make the longer videos, but I will do what I can. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Ryan. -Rick
One of the best videos from you guys! You really hit the jackpot with those fenceposts, wire, tank, partswasher and whatnot...but you totally deserve it. Happy movin, can't wait for the next vid...cheers!
Thanks for the Video again. And, I'm glad you was at home when you found the problem with 0l' Homer and ya got Him fixed. I'm think'in the Wheelie probably done that on the Drive line. Ya outta really check out the whole front end also that was awful hard on that to. You got a heck of a deal on the fence post & wire, and the rest of the Goodies you got out there. I can't wait til the next video ya'll put up for us. God Bless you Both.
+Danny Walker God Bless you also my Friend. Yeah..I think you're right about the carrier bearing being damaged by the container drama. Sometimes progress demands a price be paid. I'll try to get CTR 11 up tonight. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Danny. -Rick
No. Thank You Rick! I hope I don't come across as to sound like a "Know-it-All" I don't intend to at all. I've done alot of things in my 66 years of life and it been mostly with trucks and equipment doing Heavy Hauling and Construction stuff. Another thing is; I always try to help someone and Never-Never to Hurt someone. And, "IF" I can or see something that might help I'll just recommend it to "Try it Out" and maybe it will help You or someone else doing the same type of thing is all. Take Care My Friend, God Bless. = )
+pearsonba350 always makes me smile when I see that watching me work my tail off helps someone relax after working their tail off. Holy cow you work late on those planes. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
Those little home made trailers make good haulers for tires rims engines if they aren't too roached out and alot of other stuff I'm gonna have to get one for my truck
another great video and smart idea with the fuel tank my dad's has a 110 gallon tank in the bed of a pickup for probably 30 years it's saved a lot of time filling codtruction equipment by having it
+Mr2000f150 I agree 100%. It only makes sense. I will be adding an air compressor. generator and tool box to Old MacDonald as well. thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
looks like that tow truck and trailer have been one of the best things you've bought! cool old truck still doing its job. love these videos. good progress guys!
+nitrosport5 No doubt about it. They have already paid for themselves and earned their keep. Thank you for the encouragement once again and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
+richard Lees We will my Friend. Its going to be a Chevy-Hauling-Palooza out here for the next couple weeks. Thanks Again Richard and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Your old place is very nice but if you hadn't been kicked out of it you wouldn't be working on your Garden of Eden right now. If those fence posts are still there why not use the dump truck you could throw a bunch on and to unload them just put the PTO on and lift away. You guys are really getting a work out. There is a children's book it's called "Old Farm New Farm" My first library and it is a lot like what you and Jamie are doing. I read it to my kids and they loved it. The CTR Garden of Eden is looking very good blessings are coming to ya so keep on keeping on. PTL
+MostlymoparIH We actually headed out there in the dumptruck on the last day to get all the rest of them, but Bullfrog's headlights stopped working, so we went back and got the truck and trailer. We really were motivated to get more, but were also happy to get what we did. They really were a blessing. It really does feel like our "Garden of Eden" out there. God is Great. Thank you. -Rick
Rick, I ain't certain but I believe that piece of equipment may have been a cabbage harvesting machine. It would be nice if you had the sling setup for homer and it would go much quicker and easier for you to tow your trucks, but hey a man has to use what he has and you seem to be progressing rather well.We are enjoying watching your videos so keep up your efforts and don't overdo.God bless you.
+Roger Hall We found out that machine was used for harvesting raspberries on that old farm. I agree with you 100% on using the sling. I actually just picked it up from Intermountain Innovations (The Fab Shop we use) yesterday. They completely rebuilt it and it will be in my next video. Thank you Roger and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick
The blessings you've encountered are very inspirational. "I just quit my job makin' toothpicks out of logs" *I Don't Want It - classic Sammy Hagar/Montrose 1973. So cool to remember that, Jamie. Rock on!!! Rick, can you see Mt Rainier anywhere around your area? The view from Tacoma is really majestic. I was stationed there in the 70s.
+cinthb cinthb There is a place. I don't know what its called, but I do know how to get there. Its a place I ride my motorcycle to in the Columbia River gorge when I just feel the need to get away, where you can make a short hike up a trail and go to a lookout point and see five mountains at once and I believe Mount Rainier is one of them. Tacoma does have some majestic views also, I lived there for 8-years. Jamie is awesome. She will also belt out old jingles from commercials from time to time. She is a lot of fun to be around. Love that Woman. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Rick, I think that old piece of farm equipment was a grape harvester. I have no idea what brand but grapes are the only thing I can think of that grow in a single row that tall. Also I couldn't tell but that might have been a Corvair motor too. Unlikely but it's a possibility. Great job with the videos! God bless and keep the faith!
+Charles Lowry I was told it was used for harvesting Raspberries out there, but I think it was also capable of harvesting grapes. Sadly, corvair or vw, whatever it was is probably well on its way to becoming cheap, reproduction parts now. Thanks Charles and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
+Gildedminer22 Keep looking, they pop up once in a while. You'd be surprised how many people think a truck is ready for the scrap heap when all it is really ready for is to have the right guy come along and show it some love .Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Rick and Jamie Had to go before I finished ideas (Hate it when work interfers with watching CTR !) If you take some of the fence posts you can make like piling for the loading ramp itll be more secure If you added milk crate in that L on the fuel tank on old Mac you could carry xtra oil, tran antifreeze containers in them You could add a jumper battery and cables And a milk crate for lights grease gun etc It would gi ve you a site rig If you go to a transport truk chassis shop they could set you up with a hanger brg (nice repair with what you had to workwith )If you take the whole shaft they can replace all the U joint the brg and balance it . If you tell them who its for and you need it right away they probably get it done in a day There used to guys not having alot of down time A bearing from a 79 c30 looks right They dont change much Kids at the auto parts stores dont even know what a hanger brg is I know your like me when it comes to sending work out but they do shafts all day long and in the end there faster and cheaper. I sent one in and never did one myself again That took alot of convincing from my sons! Keep up the great work and Im not trying to be a know it all just sharing some Hard Knock Lessons with a fellow GMC guy! Jeff
+Jeff Pitman I'm taking your advice on the carrier bearing. Some things are just best left to the people who have the knowledge, experience and tools to get it done right. You'll see me making some additions to Old MacDonald in upcoming videos. I'm putting that old guy back to work too. No free rides at the new Classic Truck Ranch. If they're going to hang out, they have to earn their keep. Thanks Fer Watchin' Jeff. -Rick
I'm just amazed....Also, I'm always looking for Profit center opportunities! While watching tonite it hit me...I'm opening a refreshment counter in my kitchen. Pop Corn, Soda and Sandwiches! I'll be the only Customer, but hey, if I charge myself quadruple like at the theater, I'll soon be able to retire...in Style, this time!...I'm thinkin'...Post Hole Digger! Thanks for the Wednesday Night Movie Good Show!
+Richard Sigo No...don't do that! I'll be over to install the official Classic Truck rescue vending equipment as soon as I finish moving. Definitely looking for a Punkin' post-hole-digger attatchment. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer watchin' -Rick
It's getting to be where I can't wait to get home and see how progress is going. Power to you guys you keep on rolling. Happy holidays from the mile high city.
+Richard Mead Elderly Iron and Jeff Bradshaw are awesome...seriously. I have a lot of respect for Jeff. He is an honest, upstanding guy who truly loves old trucks. We aren't in Washington though. Jeff lives in Southern Oregon and I live in Northwest Oregon. He has given me a lot of advice and encouragement. Most importantly, He's a man of his word. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
nice job u guys great deal on fencing holy cow nice fix on homer too i would of done the same whatever keeps ya rollin and yes the longer the video the better love watchen em
+Sheri and Dan Hilker lately I've just been making the videos out of whatever footage I have compiled between episodes. Its kind of a balancing act. It takes a little longer to get the work done when I'm filming, but most of my viewers have been with us since we first found the new property, so I kind of feel like I need to keep them filled-in on the progress. Takes longer, but I also feel like I am more motivated to get a lot done because I have people counting on me to succeed. Also, my viewers really HAVE given me a ton of tips that have saved me a lot of time and work. One man does not know everything, but when you have almost 5,000 people's knowledge and experience to lend a hand...well, it is very helpful, trust me on that one. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Sheri and Dan. -Rick
I used to drive forklifts and a 966c Caterpillar wheel loader an any odd noises it pays to check them out pretty quickly it can save equipment and you're butt to from accident
on your trailer instead of chains for holding up the ramps you should take some pins and flat bar and make solid holders so the ramps don't bounce off your trucks when your hauling them, I did that on my trailer but I made mine adjustable.
+Jason Furness That is a very good idea. I also have some doubts every time I hook those chains. I know It would just mean a ramp dragging behind the trailer until I pulled over and re-hooked it, but who wants to wait until that happens? I will address that shortly after I get these trucks moved. Time is of the essence right now. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
Thanks for the great videos! Actually parts like that carrier bearing were used on those class of heavy trucks for many years and I bet a new or NOS one can be had. I see a deep attachment with your inventory of trucks and it probably feels like losing a friend when one sells. More to be had though!
+Lee Gathers Actually, one of my viewers sent me a new carrier bearing. I thought that was pretty cool of him. I do get attached to my trucks Lee, but I have learned that if I want to rescue classic trucks for a living, I have to be okay with letting them go to new homes. It is the only way I can go save others. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick
hi rick, dont go knocking yourself on the job you did on the recker,i think you did a great job in a pinch.as long as you keep it going.you did good rick keep the videos coming, hot rod trucks& cars forever, happy holidays from mike elcamino.
Hi Rick and Jamie Great work as usual Ihad an idea If you used Pumkin and some gravel could you build a loading ramp berm at the farm When your unloading still drop the ramps but if one came off the ramps it would land on the berm less unloading stress! Jeff
+motorhead Jamie and I actually discussed that today....well...she listened as I told her I could use my winch and pulley to unload....but then I showed her the 'Slow-down Blocks". Watch the next video. Thanks, -Rick
Rick , Chevy & GMC used the same drive shaft steady bearing from 1955-1996 . The SKF #HB88107A I just happened to be doing a ¨72¨ Chevy 1 ton , and had the book out .
+Dale Sakawsky Thanks, I actually wrote that part number down, (in a place where I can find it). Hope I don't have to find it before I get these trucks moved. I appreciate it Dale and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Score ! on the fence post, homer repair looks good from ga. can't ya drive some of them trucks so ya don't have ta load em a ll on homers ol lady ? member what i said bout the drive shaft comin outta my computer screen YIKES almost happen with Homer. keep up the pace you'll get er done.
+Charles Dyer Yeah, be careful what you say my Friend. Holy Cow, that would've left a mark if you know what I mean. Homer and Marge are doing great, spending some 'Quality Time" together. He tells her to "get off his back" and she tells him to "quit yankin' her around", Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Charles. -Rick
Years ago when I drove for a tow company, I'd get seized wheeled vehicles off my flatbed by chaining it to a tree or anchored object like a steel pipe at the yard and drive the flatbed out from under the trouble vehicle.
+HunterNugent Problem with that is that the ramps on my trailer, (Marge) weigh a ton. I think they would sink right into that gravel. I'm going to come up with some kind of arm and pulley for the back of the trailer and use the winch. Your idea does work in a pinch though, I've used that method several times with other trailers. Thanks Again My Friend. -Rick
One time I had nothing to anchor to, I used a snatch block hooked to the far back corner of my flatbed and ran the cable under the truck and thru the snatch block and hooked the winch cable hook to the front of the pickup truck I was trying to unload. I was able to winch it off the bed enough to pull the truck out from under. The flatbed has a support bar that hits the ground before the bed is fully lifted and extended and it drags when I pull the truck forward but that is the nature of doing this. Love your vids!
If no one has answered the question about the odd looking Volkswagen, it is a blueberry harvester. Looks like the place was a blueberry farm. They like to use those wooden posts in the rows of berries to build the trellis.
hey rick , it looks like you're making some progress . keep 'er goin' bud , i'm loving the videos . looks like a lot of hard work when you're trying to video and work at the same time ......... i love the trucks ........
+Lloyd .Haight I hate to copy and paste Lloyd, but I did just address the working and filming and this is how I see it. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Lloyd. -Rick
i agree rick , it's nice to have input from other people . there is a lot of knowledge out there and i commend you on the use of it . everyone has something to offer . i think it's great that you are keeping everyone up to date on the new location . thanks again for sharing your adventure and hard work with us .
Rick I hope you don't mind me making comments on these old videos, especially when I'm giving you a hard time. Keep at it Brother you and Jamie are an inspiration to many.
Before putting up the post apply roofing tar to the bottom of the post they last longer from rotting when buried under ground just make sure you have an inch of tar above ground level on the post...
+wgoldenny That is an excellent idea and one we will use. We actually saw a guy building a fence on our way to get the posts and noticed that he was dipping the bottoms of his in tar also. I think we will also put one shovel of gravel in the bottoms of the holes for drainage. Thank you and thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick
+C.C. Lapew You called that one right. I just picked up my sling from Intermountain Innovations yesterday. They are the Fab Shop that is building my "Boomer" monster truck project. They took the sling completely apart and rebuilt it, repairing rust and cracks and making all the pipes bigger. I will show it in my next video. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
my youngest daughter Izabayla has been crying alot lately and i just started letting her sit with me and watch you and jamie jet and anna and she litterally stopped crying and sits and watches you and complains when i watch something else so now lol
+Richard Mead I agree with you 100% on that. We are going to check on it the next time we are out that way. Thank you Richard and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Kit Callbeck There is flooding and washed-out roads all around us. So far the only surprise on the new property is that we have a new pond. Fortunately, it is not in an area we intend to use for anything. We are learning from this. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Garnett M. Possibly. I was told that it was used for harvesting Blueberries on that farm though. Guess I have a lot to learn about farming. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
Yeah, those carrier bearing rubbers go bad and fall away... and I have replaced many carrier bearings over the years and never was able to get an old one off without a torch! If I'm recalling right that same carrier bearing has been used in larger Chevy trucks for year and years. Pretty sure that a few measurements will easily net you one for pretty cheap.
+MISTERComaToes Yeah, glad I caught that one before it got all spectacular on me...if you know what I mean? I did get the part number from a viewer and will be ordering one up asap. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
+gbowne1 I actually DO have an early 50's tanker. We call it the 'Love Boat". You'll see video of it when I am moving the trucks. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick.
+Larry Kriete We found out it was used for harvesting Raspberry's. I guess that's what our fence posts were used for as well. Thank you Larry and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
I love seeing your CTR series it's always exciting to see that you have uploaded a new video, I do wish you the best luck to you and your new property and hopefully it will work perfectly. +1 Sub, +1 Like.
+57GMC Thank you for Subscribing. Looks like you have some pretty cool old trucks yourself my Friend. I'll try to get another video uploaded tonight. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
I just thought of someth'in. Since you are using those Wooden Fence Post......Please, Please, do this. To make them last A Lot Longer put an Tin Can over the end of each one when you get them in the Ground......Believe Me it Will Make them Last Many YEAR's Longer. I grew up on the farm...
Yeah, anything that has a Tin lid and will fit over the Post. That will keep the rain & snow out of the end of the post and keep it from rotting faster.....I should have explained this better the 1st. time. Sorry.
+Classic Truck Rescue the cans will also keep a horse from chewing on the post. I had one that would chew about 3 inch off the top of post for some odd reason.
One thing I did notice , when you were moving the last truck from the way back the ramps seem to hit the fenders, how about a couple of old tires ? Keep them in Homers bed so if you need them you have them and no or little chance of the ramps damaging a truck.
PS watch old rusty brake lines...I almost " bought the farm" when one blew and I had no brakes...International 2500 4×4 dually..drove into hedges to stop...just missed woman and kids in SUV who backed out without looking into a 40mph street...A lot of road salt in NY.
+Dave Lowell I know..huh? Wait 'til you see what happened today. It almost got ugly. Marge was pushin' Homer around it was almost a 911 situation. They got it straightened-out though. thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Classic Truck Rescue Rick, I can assure you that most of your viewers including myself have been in similar situations. Some of us can show you scars to prove it. Please be careful, we all enjoy your videos and don't want to see anyone get hurt. Take your time you'll make it.
+Dave Lowell We'll be careful my friend. Sometimes things do happen unexpectedly no matter how careful you are. Best we can do is be as careful as we can and be prepared to respond properly and effectively when something does go wrong. Thank you, I do appreciate it. -Rick
+mjmcomputers I know, just wrap the cable around the whole stack, right? Unfortunately, we didn't get the green light to 'Go for it" on the fenceposts until the last day and the wrecker and trailer were already loaded and down for repairs. We got what we could and are grateful to have them. Thank you and Thanks Fer watchin' -Rick
-Rick
Rick..ive bought stuff like that..bushhoged..rackedhay..raised cattle..what a deal.good post..and wire...good job...cowboy..
-Rick
That was a great idea for the repair on homer ,LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless Y'all and your critters
Thanks, you too!
Yeah buddy! Homer gets some love, and a plethora of posts and wire!!! Lookin' good! Nice of the weather to cooperate too! Keep on keepin' on, CTR !! 8^}
-Rick
nice deal on those posts and wire. love seeing all those stovebolts.thanks
+kbtruck65 Blair It really was fortunate that we were able to get such a good deal on them, Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
hey rick, great to see ya'll making more progress on gettin to your new home site and what a welcomed deal on all the fence post and wire.deals like that don't come along too often.glad to see everything comin together for you and jamie.
+everett thornton You are right, deals like that don't come along often. It was a Blessing for sure. Thank you Everett and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Wow Rick,,You really know how to Haul & Drop off a Heavy Load...lol ,,,& Im not talk'n about after eating Taco's from a paper bag.....LOL...Love seeing them ol trucks!!!
+daniel mcvey52ford I use the same method whether its tacos or trucks. Both work well. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
Thank you for the video. Like I say on all of em, i love watching these! Bully and homer really are a great team and did awesome moving that container! Hope you guys are doin alright! - Ben
+SlamzZ 240 Thank you. We do appreciate your positive input. We're doing alright, but it got a bit messy today. Thanks Again Fer watchin' -Rick
Hi Ric,Jamie and Anna Bella your living the dream which I envy. watch your back ric lift with your knees mate. God bless Pat from England
+Patrick Harris We really are living the dream my Friend. We do thank God for the opportunity. I do need to use more knee and less back. God Bless you also Pat. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
Wow Rick you scored on those fence posts and wire! Every time I see Homer I think that truck is Bad to the Bone! Thanks for the videos
+Romanm1957 I agree. We saved a lot of money there. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
it was a good thing that you found that bad berring and its good that you have homer back on the road to haul all them trucks to there new home looking good all the best big pete
+Earnharvick I AM truly Blessed. God is Great. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer watchin' -Rick
+Dave Webster Hey...I really appreciate that. You kind of summed-up our whole mission there. You get it. Thank you Dave and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
Cheers Rick ...Its great to see positive happenings , stay safe and thank you for posting all the fun happenings
Ya outta tell Homer to stop flappin his fenders. LOL! Glad you found that drive shaft problem before it was too late. That could have ended badly. lol Which reminds me I should go and see how mine is under my 64 GMC! lol!
+Military Chevy
Yeah ya should you don't wanna be like the drunk preacher that said
Do as I say not as I do!
Just funnin ya!
+Chris DiMase Yep, sometimes you just need to work with what you have on hand. Thank you Chris and Thanks Again Fer watchin' -Rick
Not to bad of a repair on Homer/ Hardest working wreaker in show biz/ no joke. You've made a lot of progress in a short time. That fuel tank looked like it had always been on that truck.lol God bless.
+TheRedneckRailRoad He does work pretty hard, doesn't he? God Bless you also My Friend. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer watchin' -Rick
Thanks for saving them trucs love them old trucks
Glad you like them!
If I get me some money up going to try buy me one somewhere like them C30 C60
At 5:31 I got a kick out of ...... Canada Geese do Not carry passports ....LOL .... You are way too cool.... Cheers from Alberta
+Dave Webster Jamie just comes up with stuff like that all the time. We do have a lot of friends in Canada. Always a good time when they come down to get a truck-load of parts and have a Barbecue with us. Cheers Dave. -Rick
Those post, would have came in handy to move the storage containers, Thumbs up on another great video.
-Rick
Love classic truck rescue nice indeed
Thanks 👍
thanks for pushing the rec button Rick. look forward to your videos see ya 😆
-Rick
Rick..Jamie was signing..Montrose song...."I Don't Want it"..hot dang...what a cool lady you have...Ronnie freakin montrose
+iamrichrocker She really IS cool. Jamie just says what she feels and I love it. She often sings old-school advertising jingles from commercials when a certain situation is fitting and it always makes me smile. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' my Friend. -Rick
Nice to See the truck moving video's, keep up the good job god bless you
+Iceman bone crusher Trust me. I am glad to see the trucks moving too. God Bless you also my Friend. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
-Rick
God is awesome Rick, see how everything is abundantly rolling in your favor even when you're not expecting it :)...It's a beautiful thing!!
+Nigel Wankel God Really IS Awesome my Friend! I cannot describe the gratitude I feel towards Him. Thank you Nigel, and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
I'm thinking I'd have brought Punkin out there with forks on him, trailered behind Bullfrog, and just loaded up ALL of those fenceposts (no matter how many loads it took)! The ones I didn't need for fencing would have made for KILLER firewood!
good luck with homer and the move. to the. new places
+Curtis Shafer Thank you Curtis and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
i love 1955-59 chevy trucks, but theirs a special space in my hearts for 3rd gen C/K trucks. great video
+SinatraGaming I like the 3rd gen Chevy and GMC trucks also. I also like the 4th Gen and have a couple of those. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
Rick..its perfect..a small auger..pto..leather gloves..wire hammer..its on...
I belive that machine is a grape harvester. Keep the videos coming!
I love these long video's! Another great watch.
+Ryan Rawrgera Well, I'm glad to hear that, because it gets really difficult to cut them down sometimes. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Classic Truck Rescue keep them long! lol I'll watch every minute. cheers
+Harry Ireland Cheers to you also Harry. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick.
+Danny Walker Sounds like a perfectly good attitude to have my friend, Thank you. I appreciate ALL tips, whether I use them or not. -Rick
You guys are putting a lot of hard work in, and the stuff you got from where you got the containers was the payment
+Fred Hopkins It certainly helps when you come across something like that. Thanks Fer Watchin' Fred. -Rick
HeHe... Crappy day at work building airplanes, had to work late, just got home (2am...), but there's a new CTR video! Today is now a good day!!!
-Rick
Good idea that will make stuff way easier
looks like that tow truck and trailer have been one of the best things you've bought! cool old truck still doing its job. love these videos. good progress guys!
+nitrosport5 No doubt about it. They have already paid for themselves and earned their keep. Thank you for the encouragement once again and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
keep halling those have chevy Rick geting the job done. nice one
Thank you. -Rick
+Classic Truck Rescue
:> )
"I just quit my job makin' toothpicks out of logs"
*I Don't Want It - classic Sammy Hagar/Montrose 1973.
-Rick
Enjoyed the video, as usual, love the interaction between you and Jamie and the progress you guys are making. You guys "keep on keeping on"
+Jim Krueger We will my Friend. Too be honest, I love our interaction too. Jamie is a lot of fun to work with. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Jim. -Rick
Another great video with lots of content, really enjoyed it.
+Ronald Crowl Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin' Ronald. We are trying to cover more aspects of what it takes to do all of this.-Rick
Wish i could find a steal like o'l mcdonald that would be and awesome toy to have, good find!
+Kit Callbeck we will keep on rolling. Happy Holidays to you also Kit and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Wasshington must be the treasure trove of old GM products. You and Elderly Iron are both from there.
+Michael Vecchiarelli Happy Holidays to you as well from the Classic Truck Rescue Team Mike. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer watchin' -Rick
keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos and your girl is a gem
+SurviventheOnslaught She really is a gem. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Hi Rick and Jamie Great work as usual Ihad an idea If you used Pumkin and some gravel could you build a loading ramp berm at the farm When your unloading still drop the ramps but if one came off the ramps it would land on the berm less unloading stress! Jeff
+Jeff Pitman This is a VERY good Idea Jeff. Watch for my response in an upcoming video. Thank you and Thanks Again Fer watchin' -Rick
Put a pulley block on back of trailer to pull trucks off with cable. We did that with boats when blocking them
+motorhead Jamie and I actually discussed that today....well...she listened as I told her I could use my winch and pulley to unload....but then I showed her the 'Slow-down Blocks".
-Rick
hey Rick, Probably when you yanked on container and homer was bouncing his frontend is when the center bearing departed! Love the video's
+HunterNugent I Think I can use a variation of that idea. Thank you.
That was great ya'll got that fuel tank and things , I'da been at it day and night too !!
If no one has answered the question about the odd looking Volkswagen, it is a blueberry harvester. Looks like the place was a blueberry farm. They like to use those wooden posts in the rows of berries to build the trellis.
+Jeremy Phillips You are correct on both points. I talked to an old guy out there who told me the same thing. Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Jeremy. -Rick
hey rick , it looks like you're making some progress . keep 'er goin' bud , i'm loving the videos . looks like a lot of hard work when you're trying to video and work at the same time ......... i love the trucks ........
+Lloyd .Haight I hate to copy and paste Lloyd, but I did just address the working and filming and this is how I see it.
You could make that a mobile service rig. Fuel, oil, tools and gas welder or what ever mobile service stuff you have.
+Ken Lee I think that is a very good idea Ken. I could also mount one of our generators on it. Very handy. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Rick I hope you don't mind me making comments on these old videos, especially when I'm giving you a hard time. Keep at it Brother you and Jamie are an inspiration to many.
OK I love your videos and I can wait just a couple days
+Joshua Murray Thank you Joshua, I'll try to keep them coming as often as I can. -Rick
OK thanks
Smart man.
Thank you and thanks Again Fer Watchin' -Rick
things will go faster when you start using the sling.... and parking the vehicles that you are moving will be a breeze....
-Rick
hey brother i would have brought bullfrog and got a load of the fence posts God is blessing you.
I know. We thought about that afterwards. That would have worked best.
my youngest daughter Izabayla has been crying alot lately and i just started letting her sit with me and watch you and jamie jet and anna and she litterally stopped crying and sits and watches you and complains when i watch something else so now lol
Glad we could help and tell Izabayla we said....Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
hey brother if you havnt placed your fence posts yet get a few buckets of tar dip the parts that will be in the ground they will last a little longer
Makes sense.
You need to get the bulldozer you saw...it would be helpful with the 48 ft boxes and modifying your land.
+Richard Mead I agree with you 100% on that. We are going to check on it the next time we are out that way. Thank you Richard and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
Holy moly, I hope you guys are not getting washed way out there. Looks like a lot of rain.
+Kit Callbeck There is flooding and washed-out roads all around us. So far the only surprise on the new property is that we have a new pond. Fortunately, it is not in an area we intend to use for anything. We are learning from this. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
looks like a post picker. to me!
+Caitlin Fraise Raspberries is what I've been told. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
That machine looks like a corncob husker removes the cobs from the plant ,
+Garnett M. Possibly. I was told that it was used for harvesting Blueberries on that farm though. Guess I have a lot to learn about farming. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Classic Truck Rescue I see this could be for blueberries it shakes them of them maybe gets vacuumed up .
Berry picker is the yellow piece of equipment.
+Drew6709 That's correct. raspberries. Thank you, -rick
Classic Truck Rescue What was the part number Rick, I might see if there is a cross reference to a cheap one. I enjoy researching stuff like that.
+MISTERComaToes Part number HB88107A. Thank you, -Rick
Do you have a PO box Rick?
+MISTERComaToes I do. It's P.O Box 1023, Molalla, Oregon 97038. Funny you should ask, We just got it yesterday afternoon. -Rick
me I would find a old late 50's early 60's fuel tanker, filler up with 100 gal.
+gbowne1 I actually DO have an early 50's tanker. We call it the 'Love Boat". You'll see video of it when I am moving the trucks. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick.
awesome.
+Kell Alexander Your positive input is what's awesome. thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
that yellow machine is for picking berries. it shacks the row of trees and the berries come out the back and you put them in crates.
+Tots Daniel that is correct. I've been told that particular machine was used to harvest raspberries. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
+Classic Truck Rescue thanks for those videos. keep them coming cause its always nice to see how your new ranch is coming along
+Tots Daniel I'll try to get another video uploaded tonight my Friend. Thank you, -Rick
That yellow machine might be a self propelled grape harvester. In the background there looks like remains of grape vines.
+Danny Walker Only if you find me a thousand cool cans.....and they have to match. Hmmm...old oil cans maybe? Thanks Again Fer Watchin' Danny. -Rick
Yeah, anything that has a Tin lid and will fit over the Post. That will keep the rain & snow out of the end of the post and keep it from rotting faster.....I should have explained this better the 1st. time. Sorry.
+Danny Walker No, it makes perfectly good sense my Friend. Thank you, -Rick
+Classic Truck Rescue the cans will also keep a horse from chewing on the post. I had one that would chew about 3 inch off the top of post for some odd reason.
+robert miller Oh man, That would be frustrating.
One thing I did notice , when you were moving the last truck from the way back the ramps seem to hit the fenders, how about a couple of old tires ? Keep them in Homers bed so if you need them you have them and no or little chance of the ramps damaging a truck.
+Jim Krueger Good Idea. I actually have some thick rubber strips I can toss back there. Thanks Jim. -Rick
hey can you do a walk around of all your trucks when you get em all moved also loved the vid
+Classic Truck Rescue cool thanks
PS watch old rusty brake lines...I almost " bought the farm" when one blew and I had no brakes...International 2500 4×4 dually..drove into hedges to stop...just missed woman and kids in SUV who backed out without looking into a 40mph street...A lot of road salt in NY.
+motorhead Yeah, watch wet leaves on fresh asphalt too, as you will see in the next video. Marge got a bit pushy....-Rick
old GM's rock
+Michael Brewer I agree 100%! They DO Rock. Thank You and Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick
hey rick, you need to make ol Mcdonald a service truck with air compressor tool box generator etc.
Man Rick, you guys are making me feel tired just watching ya.
-Rick
That yellow thing is a fence post loader.... Just kidding lol
+Classic Truck Rescue That is a good idea, but I was making a joke about that yellow thing with the VW motor.
+mjmcomputers Oh, sorry, I thought you were talking about Homer's Wife. -Rick
