Can you post a link for the products you used?

@joeschmo8115 I currently use cabelas or bass pro shops Advance Angler pressure lock snap with weight because it not only works better but is cheaper than the setup I used in video. Thanks for watching, see ya on the water!

Not really, at the speeds were trolling 1.5/2.2mph with roughly 80' of line out the lures don't tend to pull up bad but when the fish are deeper than you can get your spread down to this technique is highly effective and cost merely pennies compared to a downrigger. How it works is a weight is attached to the clip. You let your line out 10' or so while trolling then attach the clip with weight onto your line. The attached weight is significantly heavier than lures being trolled which brings the lures down to whatever depth your targeting. I typically use this technique trolling for striped bass in winter months. Hope this helps you out. Let me know how it works! Thanks for watching.

It’s not downrigger - you don’t know the the depth it’s at unless you have a line counter on the reel or metered trolling line. Walleye fishermen have been using snap weights for years.

Your correct it's not a downrigger, That's why it's called a poor man's downrigger. I personally don't have several hundreds or more to spend on downriggers. I acquire my depth and use a judgment on how deep I drop snap weight. I've never fished for walleye or watched videos relating to such so I wouldn't know, but your more than welcome to spend your $$$ on an expensive setup while I keep filling up the live well my way. Good day sir, Tight lines and I'll see you on the water.
