Thanks for watching!
I never thought about putting the Mandarin Blueprint stories into LingQ. Off to do that! Thanks for the idea!
No problem! Happy studies!
great progress bro, i recommend you pay extra attention to memorizing the correct tones of the characters, the earlier you learn them the more opportunities you'll have to reinforce the knowledge when you read them out loud with the correct tones. i feel like that is the most common obstacle for english speakers learning chinese and the most important aspect to sounding like a native speaker.
The mnemonics within Mandarin Blueprint teaches you the tone. So i for sure am!
Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much friend. Hope you’re alright!
Awesome
Thanks!
加油! I'm curious: it seems like you've fallen into the 拼音 pronunciation trap... are you pronouncing the letters the 'english' way or the 'chinese' way? For example, d t n l are all made with a flat tongue in English, but with the tip of the tongue touching the back of the top teeth in Chinese.
No clue. I practice pronunciation with tips through Chinese speakers. They correct me, I carry on.
I realize that response may have sounded super short and I didn't mean that! Thanks for letting me know, I am working on my pronunciation and appreciate the tips!
@@SeaboltSpeaks Gotcha, since they don't learn Chinese pronunciation through pinyin, they tend to be oblivious to what's going on. They'll think your tones are off, but it's actually that you can't produce the tones accurately without the proper phonetics. For example, try to say the word '得到‘ the way your used to and and then with the tip of the tongue touching the back of the top teeth. Any difference?
@SeaboltSpeaks don't know if you've tested it or not but I actually got into MB through the pronounciation mastery course and it's a pretty great complete guide, and I think I paid $97 for it. I can never find the direct link though so probably best to email support to ask for it
Do you plan to take the Mandarin Chinese HSK test eventually? If so, which level? If not, why not?
As of now, no. I don't have any specific reason to take it. I suppose the biggest thing would be to tell people an approximate level I am. I may change my mind, but i've just never really been a huge test taking fan. I'm not fully against it though. We shall see
Thats too bad they don't offer a monthly subscription Mandarin Blueprint looks like a good way to learn.
Actually, they are changing the model for subscription.
They are changing the pricing model. So maybe soon :)
even though 对 could mean correct, the 对 in "对手" means opposite
对手 means opponent
This is how learners get confused. Strictly speaking, the character 对 does not mean correct, as it always has the meaning of 'facing (toward)' . The person you are facing off against, 对手, is your opponent. "Facing (the right direction)" evolved to become the expression for correct in modern Mandarin.
It’s great if you find it helpful but when I looked at Mandarin blueprint I thought it looked pretty scammy and way overpriced for what you get not to mention I’ve seen others say the same thing. Also the way they teach doesn’t make sense to me but glad to see it’s helping you. 加油哦👍
Weird. It teaches mandarin, not sure why people think it’s scammy. But I guess people like different things. And that’s okay.
@@theojpofficial7770 how is it a scam? It teaches Mandarin by teaching you how to read and write it to learn Mandarin.
Well for one it’s insane that people think they have to spent hundreds of dollars on it when there is literally an endless supply of great content on TH-cam, you can use LingQ for way cheaper and you can make your own Anki cards if you like. The guys who made it sound like used care salesmen in addition to the their method just sounds very forced with the whole prop movie thing. At the end of the day the way I feel is that learning a language shouldn’t cost this much money. I got to a C1 level in Japanese by reading Japanese light novels and watching Japanese vlogs so when I see these new services popup charging this much for something you don’t need it just doesn’t make to me personally but if some people think they need it then good for them if it helps them achieve their goals.
