I've tried listening to it on here but I think they altered it in the actual episode because it has something about it that's lacking in the normal song.
I've woken up from dreams with music playing in the background and when I finally find the song it's a good and bad thing. Good because of the amazing music. But bad because it tugs at my heart strings until the tears start running so hard all I can taste is salt. 😔 😢 😭

Cause we can all sympathize, we've all experienced heartbreak before.
Because Planetina is prefect for Morty but he can't and doesn't want to control her evilness. Because he is understanding why women break his heart seeing himself in Planetina. Because he feels responsible for Planetina killing those people. Planetina even thought he would be cool with it. He killed to set her free. Because he still loves her but understands it to much for him to handle.

This episode was so masterfully crafted.
I am not gonna lie, the only time I was ever so emotionally moved was when Littlefoot's Mom died when I watched the Land Before Time circa 1990 in first grade, and when the Passion of the Christ Came out in 2004.
I did Cardiac Telemetry for nearly 7 years at the U of U, which monitors not just the Cardiac Unit, but Huntsman Cancer Center, along with all the rest of the non-ICU floors. 110 patients.
I had to record probably 4 digit number of deaths.
I had to hear the soul-wrenching caterwauls of an 18 year old girl as her 18 year old Boyfriend died in her arm, days away from getting a transplant.
I saw people die alone, not one person came to visit, not one person grieved. Cremated and forgotten.
The most impactful was when one had a wire pop off, everyone in the room to frantic to hear me asking them to fix it, as we had to record it all on the monitors, legal reasons. The other tech remained, I ran to fix it.
I got to the door, the patient looked at me, dead in the eyes...and died. That one haunts me.
Needless to say, such a job, while not removing empathy, made it so nothing stirred or shocked me.
About the Episode.
Morty consciously knows he is becoming more like Rick. A part of him embraces it, but a part of him also loathes it, knowing who Rick really is.
Enter Planetina. An antithesis to Rick.
Morty instantly fell in love because of this.
A beautiful (in his eyes) lady who isn't rooted in science as an icon of heroism and morality, essences absent with his relationship with Rick.
Planetina, on the other hand, discovered someone who didn't objectify her, someone who didn't care about her past or baggage and literally adored her for simply being who she was.
It broke down when she lost it and killed the miners. Morty was shatteted, not from a sense of morality, but because the illusions he created about her were shattered; There was no iconic hero of immutable morale, she was the same as Rick, the same thing as Morty.
A part of him loves her, but now a part loathes her, and the internal conflict tore him up so much that he had to let her go for both of their sanity's sake.
Planetina, when she said, "Fuck You!"...That actress, give her an Oscar.
So much emotion behind it. Love and Hate. The unquenchable passion of fire and the apathetic coldness of ice in two words. So raw.
Why it hits US so hard isn't because of illusions of reality.
Most, not all, have had break ups where we truly discarded our armor, revealed the most private parts of our soul, yet it never worked out.
We were left shattered, alone, weeping externally and internally as we are forced to pick up the remaining pieces.
What hurts so much about that, why this episode tugs even harder than the Vat of Acid Episode, is that we have been there.
I can't relate to losing a girl to a reality hopping remote being reset by my dad, but I can relate to feeling as if the Universe apathetically toyed with my life and heart, denying a love so desperately sought by both, yet would never be.
I have seen that twinkle of adoration in the eyes of one I adored.
I have watched the twinkle of adoration fade away due to my own callous decisions.
I shattered any possibility of love.
It is because Love is shattered.
Love, which is supposed to be eternal, transcend space and time, shattered like a column of ice that breaks away from your gutter and scatters across the cement with dust and shards.
It opens up wounds we thought healed over...but emotional wounds never heal...we just cope.
It reminds us of that.
It is for these reasons I applaud this episode and why it has hit me so hard. Along with the spot on music?
A psychological masterpiece.
What satire of science was presenting, what social agenda?
None.
A story of life.
If this episode didn't move you, then you have never loved or might be so egocentric that you became incapable of seeing love or letting love in, as Love requires one to love something or someone more than they love themselves.
As I said, I didn't lose empathy, working those years on a Cardiac Unit, it just raised the bar for what would jar me really high.

This seemed like the most loving relationship in the show. They seemed perfect together but it was extremely sat that Planetina did more harm than good and they broke up. I wish planetina tried to sympathise with Morty and and realise that the solution for Earth's pollution is to reinvent the system, not ruin the lives of innocent people just trying to get by in the broken system

But you also have to realize that Planetina has lived a very sheltered life because of her "kids" who didn't let her see how broken everything was. Morty discovering someone so pure and anti-Rick was as much of an awakening for him as Planetina's realization that the world ran on selfish people and cruelty was for her. Finding out how broken the system and the world was broke her. Her worldview was shattered piece by piece and she decided it was the only way to save the Earth.
Which left Morty hanging on to the person she was before the world destroyed her and she destroyed it.
Rick & Morty the only silly show that can make you both laugh like crazy and cry as if your own heart have been ripped out.

Dude it’s been 3 years or so and I’m still in pain, my mom knew about it as well but I didn’t really tell her. A year after we broke up I really really started to forget her but last 9 months has fucked me. I don’t know if I miss her or if I miss being in love. The problem with me now, is that I can’t be in a relationship with anyone no matter how much I try. Idk how to explain it dude, but everytime I get close to a female I never know if I like them or not but just overall I CANT be with a female. Which is odd because I have done lots of hook ups with females because I thought I could just do hook ups and stay single but I did not work and made me feel even worse. And after the sex I would just feel terrible and tell them to leave because it would remind me of me being so fucking alone.

My goodness, the Kishi Bashi song takes this episode from 9/10 to 11/10. I can't believe how hard that episode hit.
That she's the only one that ever made me feel like I belonged line is fucking crushing. I know it's fucking stupid but 3 years after a 5 month long relationship I still feel that shit. I've had one relationship since and shit lasted a month. And I know im the only thing holding me back from completely moving on and finding another relationship that's real but im so fucking lost and detached from who I want and used to be that I've pretty much given up I just do the bare minimum to keep going and im so lucky I have parents that support me even tho I don't support myself. But I really need to find that spark of motivation to get myself back on track. I hope that it will come magically at some point but I've been waiting 3 years so I doubt that it will happen. It's up to me to change my life. And I really hope I do.

"I loved her so much" the break up was tough and it was so brave of Morty. Then it broke me too from the thought of someone who left me hanging, he was coward. And for whatever reasons, I want to say sorry to him and he was really special to me too. I just really hope he was just brave as Morty. :)

They sadly arent really right for each other, morty saved her and she really helped with his confidence and self worth, but she would probably burn the entire world down for someone and if morty let it continue it would of been a classic villian story of too much passion i feel. Them getting back together might happen, but morty has changed and planetina would need to as well. side note, isnt it kind of funny they had a captain planet joke and it legit hurt my soul?

This was really a rough episode to get through. Especially after he seemingly lost Jessica.
When Morty says "She's gone mum. She is gone... I loved her so much!". I always cry. I hear the pain in his voice, the realization that she is inevitably lost. And feel that with every fibre of my being.
A part of me, a part that felt that it belonged, is forever with him.
I gifted him a part of me and it will be forever his. I will never be whole again.

I started watching this show as a joke and then they hit me with this episode. Planetina was designed to accomplish an impossible goal that eventually led her to a moral grayness that bordered a level of immorality that Morty couldn’t stomach. As funny as elbow boobs are, it’s hard to soften that blow even with those comedic breaks.
