Thanks to Ian and Matt for visiting ACCRA HQ this week, we had a blast! Quit honestly, I could talk to Ian for hours.......I hope we were able to pass on some insight into the inner working of ACCRA. I know I learn something with every conversation I have with Ian and this platform for Ian and Matt to share their knowledge is a benefit to the golf industry. Thanks guys!
TXG fitted me into Accra iSeries shafts for my Ping G400 hybrids. It was a really organic process, a bit like finding the right key for a lock. I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Just found this video. I bought a 3 club set of PXG wedges (50,54 & 58) about 6 months ago. They had these Accra 80i shafts in them that I had never heard of. Was gonna pull them. 3 rounds later and I would have killed the fool who touched them. They’re unbelievable.
Cool to know they work specifically with club fitters. I got fitted for one at hot stix and it has been amazing. Big fan of the company the more I learn
Just when you think the golf industry has reached the limits of its R&D, fitting knowledge, and product potential. BOOM! you then realize we are just beginning to comprehend how to Taylor a club fitting and maximize its ability to truly address a players needs independently from the next!. I think it's this knowledge that TXG is bringing to the table at a premium. Very informative. #TXG. #POWERFUL!
The UST white/grey ACCRA shaft was the best shaft I have ever played. 2.5* of torque in the days where most shafts were well over 4*. I played them in my driver, fw wood, and rescue. Played them until the fibers began to delaminate at the hosel. This shaft was a decade ahead of it's time.
I tell you !! i have now used accra shaft in my driver & 3 wood!! Man Love It!!! longer & straighter, stability , you can load and just rip it!!!:) very happy Bubba!
Can hardly wait to see some more of this road trip Accra adventure, just seeing how pumped up Ian looked was great! Enjoyed watching this you must have burned the midnight oil editing the footage to get this one out today, thanks appreciated.
Gawain personally reached out to me when I had an Accra shaft issue once. Who else does that? Above and beyond integrity and quality. I'll play their stuff for life
Excellent vid Ian! I loved hitting the Zx465 at your place, it felt really nice. Stable but never felt boardy at all. Right up there with the VA composite stuff.
what is the difference between the original fx and the fx 2.0? i’ve been enjoying the original fx you fit me into at the orlando sessions. wondering if a 2.0 would be good in a new head i recently acquired.
Hi Ian, I bought an older 52i M4 driver shaft to try. playing length is 44.5" feels really good. But unsure of the weight of it. Can you help with this please. Many thanks Ian
I went for a fitting the other day for an Accra shaft in calgary must say I was disappointed when the fitter refused to fit me into one as he said the numbers the stock shaft gave were good not to sure how he figured a smash factor of 1.39 was good but I do know straight and and 2,200 -2,400 is good.
Not sure I understand why the shafts couldn’t be available via regular and fitting centers. The price of the shaft shouldn’t be affected. Interesting video!!
That’s true but some people live so far from a quality fitter and they should still have the choice and responsibility to buy what they think will work for them. I do agree with you in principle though!!
Mike Cook, I understand your point, but, as Gawain said in the video, the concern is bad word-of-mouth if someone chooses the wrong shaft and then blames the shaft and the manufacturer, instead of the fit.
I understand but just still feel I should be responsible for the choice “I” make and not blame someone else!! Just old school I guess, thanks for the input!!!
@@mikecook8059 Hi Mike, I appreciate your concerns and we try to address that through some certified fitters that fit those in remote areas, I'm quite sure TXG could find a way to help you out.
Very interesting insight to the shaft world..... 2 quest if I may Do Tour pros have shaft contracts ... And this one on a separate topic are lie boards accurate and if not why do Ping and Callaway use them in there fitting process.
Definitely no contracts for shafts, and lie boards are not the best way of assessing lie angle any more - dynamic lie measurements like GC Quad provides are far superior. You'll see that the industry moving away from lie board use.
Hitting board's are a way for less experienced club fitters to navigate identifying the correct lie angle, definitely NOT the ideal way to establish the correct lie angle though.
Thank you for your honest reply..... Someone should tell Ping and Callaway thus information... When Mike Newton waa fitted by ping I asked him why he didn't ask the fitter why they were still using lie boards over more accurate GcQuad his lame answer was he didn't think of it ... Same question was put to James Robinson and he said he would ask but now he just dodges the question, and thsts why I believe TXG are the most honest and trusted golf fitting and information source on you tube ...... Thank for all the work you put in ....
Terrific video! Nice to see a Canadian company impacting golf internationally. The amount of options available to consumers and fitters is astounding. The industry continues to evolve. There was a time when the golfer had to optimize the equipment available while now technology seems to be optimizing the golfer. At a certain level of golf, it seems it would be virtually impossible to compete with contemporaries without being professionally fit. Questions: 1. With the evolution of materials made available, for example shafts with less resin, does this primarily provide the golfer with graphite a level of stability approaching that of steel shafts? If not just stability, what are the other advantages to the player through these new offerings? 2. Is there any room for me at TXG or Accra?
I think the stability question will be answered in the next instalment so I don’t want to spoil it for you. 😉. When you say is there in room at TXG or Accra, do you mean for a fitting? If that’s what you’re asking then there definitely is room for you to be fit by either company.
@@ianfraser3194 Thanks for the reply Ian! Well, the second question was a bit of joke as I would love to work for either company. Great content and products delivered by both! Cheers!
@@thomasveal3351 Hi Thomas, you are more than welcome to visit either TXG or ACCRA anytime :-) We can now achieve lower torque than steel at about half of the weight......so stability is significant. But, just as importantly, recovery, energy transfer and the ability to manipulate profiles.....all give graphite significant benefits! thanks for the questions....

Awesome video.
Superb interview and dialogue between the two of you
If you are spending the extra money for an after market shaft, is it worth the extra $10 or so to get each shaft pured?
Tremendous concept With this line of videos. Looking forward to future installments.

Depends on your swing Victor, we strongly recommend getting fit

@@rodneygreenwell7620, I think most golfers would choose a free fitting using a lie board over paying for a club fitting using a more advanced method.
