Don't buy an expensive reed valve kit when you only need 1 and you can make it for free in an hour using an old hose clamp and a file
Invent on
always drain the air out of an air compressor before taking it apart, NEVER TRY ANYTHING YOU SEE HERE IF YOUR NOT SURE OF YOURSELF COMPRESSED Air can 'KILL' you!!!

I just took apart my compressor as it wasnt going up to 10 x bar stopping at 6 x bar! and after i reassembled it it doesnt even go to 0 bar! CLARKE Has helped me with emails, but your video shows what i suspected as my metal plates have snapped off! so im glad to see your video :)

This is exactly what happened to mine. One of the reed valves broke in half and one half slid over the other. Replacement parts are about $6.50, if I order them.

Kudo's (good job). A feeler gauge for shim stock will work fine also. (about .014). I fixed our company H.P. with used stainless from an airplane firewall.

I'll remember this when I break down in the Mojave or Sahara .... but will the apprentice believe me when I tell him what to do ? I do carry files and hopefully would have some Jub Clips -and/or steel Packing tape ..... Thanks for pointing in the right direction. Bairn asks: Hey, how about Plastic packaging tape !

Just fixed mine used a feeler Guage you have a choice of thickness hope this helps.
