As Mr. Rogers used to say "I like you just the way you are." LOL, don't worry about smiling into the camera. What you're teaching us is what's important. ️ ❤️
I feel like I’m now part of a secret society, where the members have the guilty pleasure of laughing at your jokes and happily just watching you dig holes or throw weeds away . What a joy.
Well done, your grass ended up looking like it’s been there naturally. I have to say I like the looks of the gravel surrounding it. Those were some pretty dark clouds up above you. Thanks for sharing all your hard work and knowledge. 👍❤️😊
I just removed 75% of the sod in my backyard and brought in 4 tons of 3/8” gravel. I’m in love with it and slightly obsessed with ornamental grasses. I laughed to myself when I realized I removed grass to plant grass 😅 Thx for the entertaining video 🌿✌🏼
Been watching long enough to say "Hey - I remember when you planted that garden!". Love that. Planted some asclepias from seed last year, and had it flower this year. A real sense of accomplishment.
That was Grand! Bless your heart dear John. You are such a tonic with laughs on top. I have learned so much from watching and taking your advice. So many plants in my garden are a testament to that fact. Thank you.
Your the real deal John, great no nonsense gardener and so funny. I can often hear the guy who's filming you snigger! He does a great job filming you and keeping up with you!!
I've just been trimming Lavender, which would have been fine in that rich soil and gravel; a real pleasure vy seats too. 'lue Ice' a favourite, grows all the way on old wood and dense. Good to see you John!
Great stuff again! You should sell bags of The Best Soil in Ireland in the shop. Just plant your spaghetti, add a handful of the Best Soil, water well for the first fortnight, and bingo! You'll have your own Irish pasta tree - guaranteed!

Love watching a ‘real’ gardener with a sense of humour. Quite the planting project needing a pick axe!!
I agree. Love his sense of humor. "I forget the name of this one here. What's it called?" Hehehe. And he definitely is the real deal.
Hey Mr Lord and David you're spoiling us, so nice watching you while having a nice cuppa, a few laughs and learning from the expert 😀. 🏴
Love love love watching and learning from you.
I was going to attempt growing a spaghetti tree just to pasta time away 😉
I hope I will be able to visit Ireland one day and just stroll through your secret garden and say hello to you John…….

You've gotta love John! "No your honor, as far as I know it's always been there." 🤣
Just found your channel. Absolute gold. You're an amazing presenter, thanks for the great content!

Really rather nice gravel that.
Keep up the good work John, I’ve planted some of your recommendations this year, love my Persicaria amplexicaulis , and my Joe pye weed.

I love your energy! 🌿
No offense meant but I’d rather see the garden. John makes it look so easy. Experience really matters.
When digging a hole in summer use water to loosen the soil, makes the job so much easier!
I love your videos 😊
You should be on RTE ,,, learning gardening with a bit of craic the best way to learn....
Us home gardeners hate big pots for the same reason. I hesitate to buy a plant in anything bigger than a one gallon pot.
How do you keeps weeds out of the gravel?
Hi John
I like in my garden the Abelia grandiflora very much. Do you have this also and what do you think of this plant? Kind regards Jos
But you aren't actually planting in gravel, but soil.
John did you not put weed barrier under ?? if not why havent you got weeds !!! thank you x
How to keep it from seeding alloverJohn
It's called a Toi Toi in New Zealand. Also, the New Zealanders don't care if you look at the camera or not!
Too funny
How do you keep your gravel weed-free?
13:52 Is that a gardining glove? 🤣
Can anyone recommend a good hand garden fork mines always bending thanks
Oh I want to go to heaven but I’m always digging holes.
I’m very jealous of that gorgeous dark soil. We’ve added similar gravel on top of our heavy clay to remedy the mud after rainfall. 👍🏼🤍
