I thoroughly enjoyed the stories this year but not enough freedom, I genuinely don't know why they can't nail the storylines like they did 20 years ago. I guess ill spend some time in universe mode and fill in the blanks with imagination
Universe Mode is still the best mode imo you are the one in charge of creative and book the show as you want. I generally don't enjoy the career modes, as they quickly get boring when you keep playing the same character whose moveset you know inside out after 5 -10 matches.
in my opinion WWE 2k23 is a pretty good game to which I'm enjoying the Myrise storyline. I already finished the showcase mode which was a nice twist of playing as the opponents. After Myrise I'm going to try out GM mode

I feel like joining the Hurt Business gave The Lock a greater illusion of control. They made him feel like the leader until the very end. MVP also supported most of The Lock's decisions, unlike Randy who constantly criticized him.

Granted I didn't see 2k22's MyRise mode so I don't know if this game's MyRise mode is the same as that one.

I’m at the mart where I lost my title to the Priest and so far I hate my character. We got a. Good thing going and he insists on « proving I can do it on my own » 🙄 then why join a faction ? I swear the choices we make this year have little impact , feels like I’m just watching rather than playing (I miss the 2k19 story starting all the way back at BCW)
2k24 should give us more options to choose from especially for the factions; They should gives us Bloodline, Judgment Day, LWO, Evolution, Hurt Business, New Day, Legacy,etc.
I've finished "The Lock" with the Hurt Business as my faction, but is it worth to complete the entire mode again only as a part of the Evolution or is it not worth it?
What happens if you ignore the instructions that trigger a cut scene? For example, instead of climbing the top rope against Omos that triggers the loss, you just beat the hell out of him and pin him. Is there any way win?
I picked Randy but I’m curious if anyone is having an issue where you cannot perform a front running grapple while training. I keep doing it but it won’t say I completed the task

Yo, it won’t allow me to even get through the performance center. I’m doing every move correctly even how it’s telling me to do it. Also deleted and re-downloaded the game. It’s telling me to do a Running grabble. In one match I’ve done 10 and it won’t check it off the checklist or say it’s complete. What do you advise?
I’ve been wondering that for the last few games. Why keep putting storylines with evolution, if they’re not putting any of the evolution entrance stuff?
It will not let me processed when doing the running grapple, the objective is to hit a running grapple to set the tone, but it doesn’t work when I do it so now I’m forced to start all over with my character which I’m not going to do, if it’s anybody going through this and knows what to do please help me because if don’t get any help I probably won’t play this game ever again for a while, so for right now ima give wwe 2k23 a thumbs down! 👎🏾
Biggest problem with these career modes is that all the wrestlers act like everything is real. There's no kayfabe or friendliness backstage. The script is non-existent and that's just weird.
That's the thing, when we watch wrestling on tv we are supposed to suspend our disbelief that what we are watching is real. The backstage segments we see on the show falls into that category, it's called Kayfabe. That's the same logic that the career modes follow. I don't think the game would be that much fun if we see our players shooting the sh*t with their "enemies" backstage before the show or dealing with bad McManagement or dumb writers/bookers.
I’d always assumed these backstage segments were supposed to be on camera on the show, like this is a story being told on television. Unfortunately sometimes things happen backstage and the commentators are completely unaware of it, which muddles that idea a bit.
If you pick Evolution, then you get the stories "New to the Game," "The Evolution of Evolution," "Maximum Male Morons," "The Sound of Violence," "Mixed Martial Documentary," "Lazy Booking," and "Omos Famous."
If you pick Hurt Business, then you get the stories "Live Forever," "Game On," "Most Valuable Game Player," "Your Own Two Feet," "Anytime, Anywhere, Any Tom," "Still Hurting," and "Easy Championship Wrestling."
so dissapointing to see what a letdown myrise Lock is,like Legacy at least had likeable characters and the plot only got better with time while in lock it's just a revenge story that most of the story you spend in the indies scene

New Evolution/Legacy? Cody Rhodes win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, ultra good Face moment. Then at raw, Orton's Heel returns as mentor and turn of Cody as heel to and to look more dominant, add the United States champion Austin Theory. They would look great I think.
There is absolutely no difference at all. I tried both; they play out exactly the same; and none of your dialogue choices make any difference. The game mode is terrible and your character is a moronic jackass throughout the story. Very hard to enjoy it at all. And with the myuniverse in superstar mode being broken AF there really isn't a great mode for those that want something like a "my career" mode.

Feels like they went a step back and with the lack of player choices but still a solid story with long term booking all over it
They've never quite found the balance they used to have in the early smackdown vs raw games and prior. I don't know why since it seems pretty easy

Biggest problem with these career modes is that all the wrestlers act like everything is real. There's no kayfabe or friendliness backstage. The script is non-existent and that's just weird.
That's the thing, when we watch wrestling on tv we are supposed to suspend our disbelief that what we are watching is real. The backstage segments we see on the show falls into that category, it's called Kayfabe. That's the same logic that the career modes follow. I don't think the game would be that much fun if we see our players shooting the sh*t with their "enemies" backstage before the show or dealing with bad McManagement or dumb writers/bookers.
I’d always assumed these backstage segments were supposed to be on camera on the show, like this is a story being told on television. Unfortunately sometimes things happen backstage and the commentators are completely unaware of it, which muddles that idea a bit.
You get seven different stories depending on the faction you choose.
If you pick Evolution, then you get the stories "New to the Game," "The Evolution of Evolution," "Maximum Male Morons," "The Sound of Violence," "Mixed Martial Documentary," "Lazy Booking," and "Omos Famous."
If you pick Hurt Business, then you get the stories "Live Forever," "Game On," "Most Valuable Game Player," "Your Own Two Feet," "Anytime, Anywhere, Any Tom," "Still Hurting," and "Easy Championship Wrestling."
Is anyone else stuck on the running grab objective ?
so dissapointing to see what a letdown myrise Lock is,like Legacy at least had likeable characters and the plot only got better with time while in lock it's just a revenge story that most of the story you spend in the indies scene

Cody Rhodes win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, ultra good Face moment.
Then at raw, Orton's Heel returns as mentor and turn of Cody as heel to and to look more dominant, add the United States champion Austin Theory. They would look great I think.

There is absolutely no difference at all. I tried both; they play out exactly the same; and none of your dialogue choices make any difference. The game mode is terrible and your character is a moronic jackass throughout the story. Very hard to enjoy it at all.
And with the myuniverse in superstar mode being broken AF there really isn't a great mode for those that want something like a "my career" mode.
