did your freind experience their live performance at the Tokyo garden theater ? have you heard anything about the different in sound equipment from uk venues? the venues i experienced was like a wall of sound with tremendous sound pressure for band maid & nemophila😮
was it just me, Wave, or was this mix a bit lacking in the low end compared to a lot of their "live" mixes? Usually it's Kanami that is buried, but the drums and bass on this.. seemed less punchy than normal, to me. Still sounded great, but more Misa is never enough Misa, ya know?
I watched Akane the whole time at TGT, and she continuously looked at the big screen as soon as the split screen appeared for "Choose Me," I think, maybe even earlier. Her drumming was on muscle memory at that point, while her head was bobbing up (left and right) looking for her split screen, so that she could do some "hengao" faces to the camera, which she is known to do, lol!

Actually this is the Opening Song for the Anime " Platinum End " . People are selected by Angels to become the next God , and these Humans are supposed to kill each other to become God. In the MV there are white and black Feathers floating around as there are nice and very nasty Angels . Song Lyrics are related to the Show , if you have not watched it. Sorry being a smartass 😋 Not much personal contend BM wise in here.
Testament to how good they are live: my opinion of this song has gone way up after seeing it live in person, and in this cleaned up live version. It’s always been low on my list of their songs, but I certainly like it more now!
Lollapalooza in Chicago this summer will include Band-Maid. And also Babymetal has signed for Aftershock here in Sacramento this October. Interesting to note the Babymetal font is much larger on the Aftershock poster just released than it was the first time l saw them there. I have also seen Band-Maid there as well. Babymetal's font is now the same size as Megadeth's.

I think they will release 1 or 2 other live videos, but they obviously want people to buy the Blu-ray instead releasing half of it for free. You can be sure this is part of their marketingstrategy for their upcoming Blu-ray. I guess they might release more later in the year after the sales have settled.
I agree with you Wave, it seems that they've toned down Misa for some reason in this mix. I can't remember if it was like that in the original but I don't recall thinking that the bass was quiet at the time.
Thanks Wave. I loved the mix on this this. I know some people have complained, but for a live performance I thought it came across as a live perfomance and not a re-mixed studio version. I appreciate that. Also, it just shows another level of thinking genius on Miku's part to add in the Kanji's along with English knowing she can appeal to a wider audience by doing so. That is next level thinking.
@@technopsychobedlam It's what you are going to get on the Blu-ray/DVD so you will probably get used to it after a while. I think it sounds ok although I prefer their bass heavy mixes as a fan of the sound of a bass. But I think they took the complaints about their previous mixes being bass heavy and the lack of Kanami's guitar and made adjustments accordingly. They did probably add a bit too much reverb (like they did for the recent TV show as well), it makes it sound more "Live" but I agree that it also creates a bit too much echo. I will enjoy it regardless, but let's hope youtube's compression is changing the sound somewhat. I think Saiki's vocals sound really good though, they still sound live and not overly produced, which I personally prefer.
it's not a terrible mix, but they usually have a lot punchier low end, and for Misa/Akane fanatics like myself, it's noticable. Not the end of the world but most bands seem to mix out the bass, and one refereshign thing with most Band Maid lives is how prominent Misa is. Still a lot better than the studio mixes for World Domination and Conqueror though.
@@killerpeaches7 What is weird is the hollowness and echo were not there in the stream. It's weird that they have added processing to introduce artifacts that don't really sound great. And we lose the bottom end in the process.
@@technopsychobedlam They have always re-mixed/re-produced their concerts for their Blu-rays (the same goes for a lot of Japanese bands), it's not different for this one. I really like the sound on the old ones, but they are very far from a live sounding concert. This one actually sounds more live and raw compared to those and I'm not really sure why. I am relatively sure they pumped up Kanami and cut down on the lows because people always said you couldn't hear Kanami and the mix was "bass-y" (I actually prefer their bass-y mixes over the album mixes, but what can you do). I have no clue why they decided to add the reverb but they did the same thing on the TV show. It might have been done to obscure them fiddling with the sound, the only other thing I can think of is it might have been done to make it sound less like an album (like their previous Blu-rays did). I just wish they upped the bass and bass-drum a bit more, I can live with the reverb/echo as it's something you will only notice when you start listening to the liveset, but after a while you won't hear it any more.
I get you, but the Sense MV has 3.6 million views and has already surpassed some popular MV's that are way older, I can guarantee you that's exactly why they chose this track. They want more eyes on them and eyes on their upcoming Blu-ray. This was 100% a marketing decision (which is very understandable). It's probably the same reason why Gacharic Spin has released multiple live videos of MindSet and I Wish I.

Not to burst your bubble, but the lyrics here relate to the plot of the anime it written for (Platinum End). Yes, Miku is a talented enough lyricist to give them a more universal appeal. But in the end they all tie back to a badly written story.
The performance of the ladies is brilliant as per usual, no issues there, but if feel the mix of the ambient sound here (i.e. the audience) could have been done better. Too much separation between left, centre & right audience. At the start of the song the centre audience is cut off suddenly a second after 0:28 here, whilst the applause of the left & right audience keeps fading out for two more seconds. Not a major issue, as the mix of the song itself is OK~ish (good enough anyway), but for me it does impair the overall "live" feel of this video just a little bit.

It's the worst mix I have heard from them IMO. The bass is almost gone and the echo and hollowness were not there in the original stream.
