Paul McCartney was interviewed about Blackbird. He said it was a tribute to the American Civil Rights Movement. That was over a half century ago. Geoff did this one quietly at home when his son was supposed to be sleeping. Shortly he heard "Dad, is that Blackbird?" "Yes, now go to sleep or the Toilet Monster will get you." I love the tone of that piano he has. Just beautiful.
Remember that this wasn't done in one take. Geoff is a master of creating an arrangement and putting all his takes together into one masterpiece. He does that.
I think on some level we have perhaps subconscious "It's not fair!" moments with Geoff....they're usually synonymous with the conscious "Dang, he's wonderful!" moments. 💙
I love your reactions!! Especially since you and I feel the same way about Mr. Castellucci... talent and eye candy of such supernatural levels should not be placed in an individual person. 😁😁
I was fairly new to VoicePlay when Geoff started his solo channel, and this song really made me sit up and take notice of what a unique talent he is, both as a singer and an arranger. The fluttering "Fl-Fl-Flyyyy" like beating wings is such a clever choice for this song. Also, I don't know how you choose the songs for your VP & Friends polls, but you would love Geoff and friends singing "Grace Kelly" live. It's funny and amazing! I believe the video on TH-cam is called 'Toxic Audio performing "Grace Kelly" at LHP.'
Geoff provides such a beautifully reserved arrangement that it draws you in immediately. I think it's one of his most sensitive and gorgeous videos. The fly, fly, fly is like the fluttering of a bird's wings. The harmonies are so ethereal. His vocal control is on point.
I seriously love your reactions! Thank you. I believe this was the first "Piano Geoff" song. Still one of my all-time favorites from him, and I believe the 2nd Geoff solo song I ever heard after Misty Mountains Cold, which brought me (back) to VoicePlay after only having seen them in Oogie Boogie and idiotically not following them immediately. This man's talent is inspirational.
This song is so pretty and the Geoff version with its (screw it, stealing an early DJ-ism) "flippy-dippy" notes just makes me feel so many amazing things... Geoff is incredible always but this is just stunning... Thank you for picking this one DJ, it's so beautiful and I'm so glad you enjoyed it all... #HerdLove
This is Geoff's 2nd solo song and the one that made me fall in love with his music. Still one of my top 5 songs by him. So simple and so damn good! Just a man and his keyboard.
If you want a full acapella version that is pretty cool is by the King's Singers. They represent an older and more basic form of acapella music. For example there is no beat boxing in most of their catalog. You get a similar effect as Voctave but with only male voices. There was acapella in "classical" music dating back to before Bach.
You should watch voiceplay new video that came out is called classical Chaos. 😂Is a really funny video that I think you would like. And also you should watch one of geoff: a little bit about me videos is called (baby Lucci: our IVF journey) and I think you should watch it as well. But just to give you a little heads up about it… is a really painful feeling for what geoff wife kathy is going through.😔but is really a sweet video that I think you should watch.🥰
@@madisynphillips2005, at the beginning of this video, he said this was the winner of the Patreon VoicePlay & friends poll, and he’s sure we’re wondering how a Geoff solo could beat VoicePlay’s new video.
I love your Geoff and the Voiceplay reactions. However, something you said in this reaction triggered another artist you may want to look into at some point in the future. If you'd like to see someone else be able to sound like two completely different people in the same song, please go listen to either Nick Pitera or Marceleto Pomoy's version of The Prayer. Both versions are individual artists singing duets with themselves.
"Oh piss off!" 🤣 Best reaction

I am hoping you react to Classical Chaos because good lord man!! ❤😂❤ the amount of times you'll either say "sir" or "ma'am" will go off the charts

You getting all flustered at Geoff just made my day. Thank you. 😂
You should listen to him reading Jabberwocky......

As soon as you said that you expected him to switch things up and go high, I was ready with the popcorn!
The quietest "piss off"
DJ just love you and your reactions, I'M with you, when Geoff plays piano/keyboard I am mesmerized. He has such gorgeous hands. Thanks DJ
This is a beautiful song on its own, but geoffs version is just perfection 😊💜💜🦌
It's hard to find adjectives to describe Geoff because he doesn't seem real, but I agree with every word you said. ❤
Geoff likes to do "Scoops". Especially in this song. He starts a note or two below what was meant and does a glissando upwards

one of my favourites ❤ BTW you might not have to wait for too long for another Geoff 😉❤

I love it when Geoff breaks DJ. :)
Crunchie uppies? A new one from DJ.
I love how (for lack of a better term) AUSTRALIAN his reactions and new word combos are.

One of my favourite Beatles songs and Geoff adds SUCH beauty and grace to it - GORGEOUS
If you haven't done Geoff's cover of Chris Isaak's"Wicked Game"....go do it! Piano Geoff yet again.
Simply astounding... every time... 🎉❤

Bobby McFarren has a fantastic solo acapella cover!
My absolute favorite song from him, great. 🫶🫶💋
DJ-thanks for another great reaction to a video by an excellent singer.
💜💚

If you think about it, Gregorian chants are just medieval acapella.
Советую посмотреть новый саундтрек с Дианой Анкудиновой называется "В шторм" ✊
Just putting this out there. If you want to be left speechless listen to Jinjer Pisces live session .
I knew this one was going to rip you to shreds, but in a good way.
❤❤❤
Same, DJ, same.
Thanks DJ 😊
earlyyy 7th comment! i love your reactions and I also love voiceplay sm as a new fan of 2 months. :D

I’m pretty sure that’s the one he was talking about at the beginning that wasn’t included in the poll because he didn’t know about it yet.
@@DennisKovacich oooooh I didn’t know that thx you for that.
@@DennisKovacich and also in the beginning of what…was it in this video or in another video?

You mentioned that he sounded like to people. I get that, but maybe check out Marcelito Pomoy and his "female" voice
Listening to Geoff's version absolve you of the blasphemy of the Glee version .... maybe LOL!!!
Now go my son and sin no more. 😂😂😂
Went looking, but apparently you haven't done any reactions to Superfruit (-> Defying Gravity)
