A sales pitch? I use this product every day. So do ten's of thousands of other photographers. If you don't want to improve your images, fine... don't. In fact, don't subscribe. Leave and don't come back.
@@GIMPTUT Fair point, don't like it? don't watch it. But the channel is literally called "Gimp Tut[orial]" with a video title of "in GIMP", so don't go defensive mode if people felt that this third-party product was a bit out of the blue.
Thanks for this comment. Was brought here when googling how to improve image quality in gimp. Old boy got defensive cause he knows exactly what he's doing.
This is a trash response@@GIMPTUT . This video is in fact clickbait. People clicked the video because they were looking to sharpen an image in GIMP and not the overpriced junk app youre pushing. If someone points this out, they're not wrong.
we need those wonderful people over at GNU to start working on something like sharpen AI so we can all benefit from it. I am not paying $160 for something I might use 2 or 3 times a year.
yes, you could just donate a fraction of that to Øyvind Kolås who raises funds for his work on GEGL, GIMP’s image processing core. Øyvind is GEGL maintainer and primary developer.
maybe you should rename your channel to CLICKBAIT TUT. if you put GIMP in the name of the video, i expect you to use GIMP if you dislike or don’t use GIMP you should tell people up front
Followed the link for the free trial, it installed, got the preview but wouldn't allow me to save the results without paying £159.00...not a free trial then is it 🤬
@@ParkerPhotographicSo are you saying free trials of software don't allow people to save their work!? 😢 That is normally part of it. There MIGHT be some advanced features blocked, but I've never heard of the basic save function being disabled.
I have a google picture of a Yugioh deck in a game. But the cards in that picture is all blurry. Is there a way to turn that pic clear? Idk if its possible coz its like the blurry is on the pixels that is blurry from the picture and I dont know how to make it look better. I can't see what the name says on the cards coz its too much pixels and not HD clear. But can I fix it?
Topaz would be great if I could do a sample image first, but I'm not spending $200 on a product I can't test first. Also I like the other videos by Gimp Tut but this is just a advertisement of Topaz via Sharpen AI.
I am very disappointed with what I conclude is a sales pitch. I am NOT a professional photographer although i have been shooting for 60 years. I cannot justify spending nearly $200 for somethingIi may use 3 times a year if that. Worse is what I have come to expect from your site and video tutorials has been destroyed. It has switched from educaton to help me use Gimp mor effetively to lining your pocket, unfortunately.
What I gathered from this. Is it possible to fix out of focus or blurry images in GIMP? No. Instead you need a third-party application to make it look smooth and not overly digital. Could've summed up the video in 10 seconds with that statement and then made a video talking about the two apps used instead.
Carlos... STOP misleading people with your false comments. 1. The title to this video is as follows: "Is it possible to fix out of focus or blurry images in GIMP?" 2. You go on to mislead by writing a title that doesn't match what I published. YOUR title "How to fix blurry images in GIMP." If that's what I wrote then yes it would be click bait. My title is a QUESTION!! Not a "how to" tutorial! I'm sorry you don't understand the difference.
A sales pitch for a third-party product (not gimp).
A sales pitch? I use this product every day. So do ten's of thousands of other photographers. If you don't want to improve your images, fine... don't. In fact, don't subscribe. Leave and don't come back.
I was wondering what kind of moron would make a video like this. Your comment has summed things up nicely.

There are a few free options - Chainner and Upscayl both work quite well.

No disrespect, but that was deceptive. I really was looking for a way to do this in Gimp. Is there a way?
GIMP offers a selective blur/sharpen tool (applied by brush) and masks, so it could work a similar way like the other app :)
Wow, I really learned so much about how to troll GIMP users, thanks a million!
You're welcome.
i thought we’re talkin about gimp.
Darktable is also an option for Linux users. In the sharpen effect you can apply a mask on the part of the image you want to apply the effect.
Under the name of GIMP you made Topaz advertisement.

You got to try it and see the results for yourself. So yes it's a free trial.
Make sure you give him a thumb down guys.

A BIG WASTE OF MY TIME.
So the answer is no. Ok.
The answer according to this guy: No. Took some time to get it out, but it effectively wasted 5 minutes of my time.
Wow I watched all that just to get to a f*cking AD
Or…. Hear me out now hear me out… Capture a sharp image from the start and ditch the cartoon looking AI.
Oh... Oh!!! Let me bow down before the Almighty. the ONE that never makes a mistake. Your are the PERFECT Almighty after all.
This is just a advertising video to make money for the presenter. He doesn't really do anything other than try to tell you which software to buy.
Ty for waisting my time
You're welcome
Not useful, this is not a tutorial for using GIMP
Half of the videos in the gimp beginners tutorial have nothing to do with teaching gimp skills
Very bad, so misleading

What about LERN how to shoot properly in stead of stupidify yourself?
A lot of us are genuine photographers who use gimp; not point-and-click amateurs who use AI bullshit.
you have tried the threshold before spending hundreds on topaz mr. shill
lol good thing I read the comments first

Your thumbnail for this video is dishonest. The original photo of your daughter was not as out of focus as it appears in the thumbnail.
Boom! Totally useless NOT Gimp tutorial.

Wtf was this nonsense.
🙏
How to fix blurry images in Gimp? Immediately proceeds to fix them on another program. Clickbait much? 😂

TLDR; if you want quality image edits, don't use gimp.
i guess the answer to the video title is: NO
btw one free open source software capable of ai upscaling is realesrgan
Boooo! You offered no GIMP solutions other than to pitch another product.
useless
I unsubscribed at this point.
