Sue and her team are marvelous, I hope they know how they have helped people, lots of which none of us will ever hear of. I watched the series on historical bodies, which was fascinating, I believe some are available on you tube
I'm a similar age to Sue, my grandparents were both laid out in the sitting room and the funeral was said in the house; as a young person dealing with their loss (my first experience of it) it was painful but they were with us at home so we could sit with them when we felt ready, much more comforting. My other granny was in a "chapel of rest", it was horribly like a cupboard and we had to make an appointment to see her, didn't like it. My sons' are in their 20s, when they were 7y and 9y they went to see their Grampy when he died, their cousins were not allowed in case it gave them nightmares?? We chatted about how peaceful he looked, that he was wearing his slippers and his favourite sweater, they have both said since that they're glad they saw him it helped them accept he'd gone.
