1953 Monterey shock upgrade

Swapping out KYB shocks with Gabriel 82026 Classic car shocks. This 1953 Mercury Monterey is running the Aerostar front coil springs Moog CC850, which lowers the car about 2 1/2".

So Dan. After you put the
Aerostar springs on how did you handle the alignment? Do you have a place locally or did you do do it yourself? Also, those hubcaps suck! The early ford restorer guys say the hubcaps creep so use meral valve stems to keep them from coming off. Lookin' good man!

I only set the toe with a tape. It drives real straight though 😂.

I sure like your Merc. I wonder if it has the same problem mine had. One of the rubber bump stops was missing from the top of the frame under the upper suspension arm. So when the shocks and springs pulled out full length the suspension arm was bottoming out right on the top of the frame. Made quite a noise. I was able to buy the new rubber stops at C&G and install one. th-cam.com/video/QDAU2xVcrYM/w-d-xo.html
