How many people were in love with this girl... I used to listen to this song and think of my girl friend at the time. I drove a truck at the time and was lonely on the road and she was in college. This was in 84 and we were married in 86 and still are here in 2024...
My wife and i got married 87 and we are still going strong up to now,,,i guess this song was instrumental me and my wife would sing it whenever its played in the house or in the car,,,cheers to all of us,,,
Fun fact, Vision Quest was released in the UK and Australia under the title "Crazy for You". Also, Modine and Fiorentino were 25 and 26 years old at the time of this movie.
Hmmm... but they really didnt look like highschoolers, perhaps bcs I was just 11 in 1985 and so I thought "they looked old" LOL - I didn't realize how beautiful Linda Fiorentino was (not until I watched the movie later in the 90s), and well Matthew Modine looked his age for sure... I am not sure why they never succeed much in their careers. Crazy for You and Gambler (well forgotten song) to me were the highlights...
@brianmcgee? Yeah thank you! Finally this makes sense… I’m an 80s historian and this solved one more piece of the puzzle … why don’t I remember the title … and what does “Vision Quest” mean anyway?
When this came out in the 80's, I had my then H S. boyfriend take me to see this movie only because I was such a Madonna fan, just wanted to see her part in the movie..totally worth it!! I still turn that volume up to this. Still a fan
Takes me back to my Navy days when I was so much younger. I believe I saw this movie before I got off active duty. At times I yearn to go back to my younger days. I am fortunate to have had so many memories that if I were to be frozen in time in one of them, I'd be happy!
Actually, I'm not a Madonna fan, but I love her debut album and this OST, produced by Jelly Bean Benitez, her then lover. I watched this video dozens of times on New York Hot Tracks in 1985,...and to my surprise... watching it again after almost 40 years,...and it's refreshing to see Madonna in that outfit back then....
Back then it seemed like the video came first and then the song. Madonna was just too much "pop" B.S. To me this song was raw. It was the real deal, as I envisioned her. There weren't a bunch of dancers, or outrageous costumes. It was just her, so very genuine. After this forget it. Everything seemed so fake, but not this, it captured the feeling I had of falling in love. Timing is everything.
Not true, listen to her Ray of Light album, which is more in line with something Kate Bush would release, it's very arty and deep or her politically charged American Life album, where she plays acoustic guitar on almost every song. Madonna is the most "diverse" pop artist around in terms of material and jumping from genre to genre. She also composes most of her material and has for other artists, over 1000 songs registered with her as the writer, she can even write musical notes
The 80's generation..so lucky we were to experience that era, those songs with soul and those movies - actors - the spirit , everything..

80s music and movies had so much meaning to them! We have lost that with computers and cell phones people! Human connection, you understand.
I was just being born in mid 80s. But i would have loved to experience that decade as a young adult.
It was a fantastic time.1980-1988 To me those were the golden years. Graduated high school 1985.. Great Music as well as MTV..

another great song of the 80s by Madonna
My favorite Madonna song
Lovely 💕
This was Madonna when she was still hungry to be great. This movie helped her become the material girl that spoiled her.
She was so hot back then too. 😍
Filmed in Spokane, WA. I was 13 at the time.. Madonna scene was at the Bigfoot Tavern on the Northside.
I love this song
💞
J O k E R
I love this song
Oh, I like this movie!
My fave love song ❤
The 80s was the bomb!
My man was a wrestler. He had a stroke at 17. Changed his life. I met him and he doesn’t challenge himself. He’s so much more
Jogging seemed so cool in the eighties.
from Rocky 3 and 4
Now we're in our 50s and our knees are destroyed from it
Epoca increíble, verdadera música con clase, excelente película.
The 1980’s when people were more authentic

Wandsworth common lying on the grass, bunk in off course and admiring the British girls sun bathing and hearing this song brings back memories.

🎵 1985: A música quando é boa, sempre será eterna! 🙂✌️🎼
Back when Madonna was halfway normal and beautiful...
Linda Fiorentino 😍
Totally agree
this woman is inmortal
They need to bring it full circle & have Linda Fiorentino in Stranger Things.
Just realized this lady was the coroner in Men in Black.
I just watched this again today because I just HAD to... Carla was only 21!! I thought she was like 24/25.
I really miss 1980's Madonna.
madonna ❤
In the 80’s, Every high school kid had a pic or ten of the gal from Vision Quest.
A teenage boy's fantasy come true...
Que mujer tan bella...

Boże jakie piękne
Stranger things setting is from the 80s and Papa is a star actor that time
