In recent years remote-controlled destroyers with either knives or hammers have appeared. Their advantages are many, as they are operated remotely, giving the operator an extra safety. They have a low height and can move by mowing under trees or photovoltaic panels, but also on steep terrain.
In today's video I present you a remote controlled hybrid destroyer, the PANTHER AMD R120.
Its movement is made by crawlers, which in turn are driven by two 800 watt brushless electric motors with an integrated heavy-duty reducer.
The hammers are driven by a KOOP KD195FCE diesel engine with a power of 15 HP, and it also has a starter motor to start it. It has a cutting width of 120cm, ensuring a large cutting range for more efficient work.
The cutting height is manually adjustable in 7 positions, offering flexibility depending on the terrain morphology. It has two speeds of movement slow - fast, and the selection of the speed is done by the remote control.
Electrically weighted rotor for zero vibration, heavy-duty ball bearings, KEVLAR transmission belts as well as reinforced chassis in turn increase its reliability. The width of the machine is 147cm, its height is 75cm, its length is 165cm and its weight is 390kg.
The destroyer essentially moves electrically from the two electric motors it has, and for this reason we should always have its batteries charged with the charger it has.
But we should always use the destroyer with the engine running, as it also has a dynamo to keep the batteries charged. To activate the hammers, we will have to increase the engine revolutions to the maximum and then with the lever it has to activate them.
In the tests, grasses, small and large reeds were crushed as well as grasses with wadding at a height of almost two meters. The destroyer responded to all the cuts showing us that it has the required power to cope.
When we set the shredder height to the lowest setting, we are essentially making very low cuts, almost touching the ground.
If a branch of small diameter is found, it will be able to crush it as we saw in the video.
Personally, I will single it out for its reinforced chassis, for the fuel economy of the engine with a consumption of about two liters of oil per hour, for its efficiency, as well as its easy handling.
