I like how the angle of the toilet is complementing the colors of the room on the other side of the door. Also, the lights are designed to reflect and give sence of calmness and happiness. Even while he is walking throught the area you can tell that the whole space gives you the sence of home. Well done designer. Great room!
This is virtually an Officer's Stateroom on any US Navy Ship. Nothing to complain about here and much better then any enlisted berthing on any U.S. Navy Or other Navy ship I have been on. We were there to work, just like this man, not be passengers.
+You have 2 cents, Chuck Norris has 1 cent. Chuck Norris has more money than you Hide behind your anonymity and take cheap shots while not even knowing what you talk about. +You have 2 cents, Chuck Norris has 1 cent. Chuck Norris has more money than you I stand by my original statement. You are to ignorant to have been a Sailor. Maybe a marine. But continue to hide behind your lack of name and take potshots at real Sailors. You would not make a pimple on the buttocks of a QM or BM let alone a Chief or Officer. IF you were in the Navy, it was obviously as a shore duty non-qual for your entire boot camp and then early discharge.
I have just returned from a med cruise on ms Noordam. This is luxury compared to the accommodation I had during my time in the navy during the 80s. We had 60 in our mess, where we could be at sea for months at a time. My cabin on Noordam would have housed 12 people during my days at sea.I would have loved a cabin like this.
Lets not compare this to the military, cruiseship are 100% buisness boat and people go there to work, not to be slave or live in $%?&*( condition. You can compare all the job to military task and say OMG your job is so easy compared to my 2 month training camp.... Military should not be seen as a standard to compare things, its for going to war. It's not like working for a millions dollars corporation that just want to make money.
that's not bad, in the U.S. navy we were stacked 3 high side by side in the same space 6 guys, coffin lockers, and a small stand up locker, in a room with dozens of noisy people with aircraft being launched nearly every minute, sometimes 24 hours a day.
I don't see "well that's the Navy" as a viable excuse. Just because it's the military doesn't mean something should suck. It's true, we do learn how to live with less but it isn't because life is meant to be worse. That's the shit people end up believing due to movies. Do things in the military suck often? Sure. But it's not because it's meant to.
Please don't give false and incorrect information out. Cabin size does NOT depend on your nationality at all. Just like this staff cabin shown in the video is the same size I got on Victory myself and i'm considered an officer. Entertainment staff are also considered "staff" like photographers and generally always get the same size cabins. "Crew" get slightly smaller with shared bathrooms - they are the tipping positions (of ALL nationalities).
I was Circle C Director on the Victory, and my cabin was the exact same (sans roommate, fortunately enough). Photographers, Spa, and Youth staff get these cabins on this ship, where as on other ships, the cabins for Youth staff are definitely bigger.
I work for Carnival Cruise Line from 1993 to 1998 as restaurant waiter the cabin crew is about the same. Older ship has a separate bathroom that we have to share up to 6 people outside our cabin. 1 year 1998 before i quit my job, we have a new ship carnival Destiny, crew cabin had a larger room and have a bathroom inside.
Staff cabin which is actually bigger than regular crew cabin which actually has carpet on the floor. Notice how quiet it is deck 0 and bellow cabinga are usually more noisy and hot!
@MegCruiselover5 Actually, this is the smallest cabin on ships. Yes, Americans can work there, too. I had very good friends from the US. And since you are american, definitely you'll get bigger cabin. :) Try it. It's fun...for a while. :)

@TheEmoRage I've never had problems with the food, but some of us had. You will eat more or less the same as the "crew", but in a nicer environment since you will belong to the "staff". I don't exactly know what kind of plugs you use in SA, but I had colleges from your country and they never complained about it. Most (or all) of the ships has "European" & "North American" socket,s as well, and if you will have any difficulties, you can buy plug adapters anywhere in the ports for 1 or 2 dollars.
@wolterpynaffit Yes, I was a photographer on the ship. We used D300 instead of D90. I just had the D90 with me for a while. For being a photographer on the ships you have to look for an agency which can help you to get in an interview. Just google it! Good luck! :)
The fare I pay to the cruise ship line is sky high. The cruise line could pay a living wage. The cruise lines take full advantage of the situation. The same with the airlines. The ship's crew should have better quarters. I can't tell you how many times I was offered overpriced drinks. The crew charged me for drinks I didn't order or consume.
HEY, it is a heckuva lot more living space than on a Coast Guard Cutter! Even when I was more senior I had a cozy 10.5 cubic feet of living space on a 210 ft WMEC!
@8stewiegriffin Thanks! No, I was there as a photographer. But not anymore. :) I was shocked also at the first time when I saw it, but actually I was in the cabin only when I wanted to sleep. So it was quite OK. :) Cheers!
@TheEmoRage One more advice: don't get frightened because of the amount of the working hours in the college. They will try to push you to your limits, but there is almost no chance to work on a ship where you have to work that much. At least this was the case when I was in the college. Good luck!!!!! :)

Thank you for posting this. I will be beginning my training for Carnival in 2 weeks. What position were you and is it safe to assume that the Entertainment Staff cabins are about the same?
@@tryan7 Not necessarily. I did a single contract as entertainment staff and my cabin was nearly identical to this. Granted this was over 10 years ago, at the time the only employees in the entertainment department who had better cabins than this were the singers, the ACD and the CD. All staff, dancers, etc... had cabins just like this. For officers it depended. 1-stripe had this type of cabin but single occupancy and then 2-stripe and up had better cabins.
@krisztiansere hej i applied to work on ship-carnival- and next week i am goig on interveiw, i will be bar server, what are you think about that ship and job?
Spend $100 and buy a new smaller TV that will have a bigger screen. There is a KMart down the road in St Thomas, easy walking distance. We have done it twice.
THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT "QUARTERS"> IT'S 1/4 the size it should be. It's only for sleeping & storage though. I lived on 4 different ships. As a croupier , all I did was work & sleep. Then it's back to work and if your lucky, you can get some sleep. If you have to make time for eating & doing your laundry, you can FORGET the sleep.............. Sometimes, I was lucky enough to be awake & take some time for the beach!!!
@petar139 Yes, but actually I just inherited the cabin from one of my college who were able to arrange virtually everything. :) So the cabin was equipped with this extra just because of her. :) But you made me laugh with this comment. Thanks! :)

This program is NEOBUX
Hűha!!! Én folyami hajón dolgoztam egy rövid ideig. Ott a "szoba" kb mint ez, de annyival rosszabb, hogy az asztal helyett még egy ágy volt. 3an egy ekkorka lyukban. Észbontó!!! :(
@greenkeenreviews Nothing really. Dancers have good life on ships as far as I can decide. Once they learn the choreography they just have to enjoy the shows and the ports. :) Good luck to him!
+sirgigglez Usually you work 7 days a week. The working hours vary, but approx. 9-13 hours ib avarage. That is one of the hardest job on ships. Consider it twice! :)
Heyyy.....your cabin wasn´t the smallest i can see you are STAFF not CREW....staff cabins are so much bigger and have private toilett.....Crew cabins like mine had no space for 2 people standing ! and toiletts are shared with next room!..Excuse me?

Wow...that is a bit smaller than I though for a crew cabin on a ship. It's only slightly bigger than the pilot crew rest cabin on a 747.
Nincs mit! :) Mint micsoda? Fotos?
@goodtimebob As a matter of fact I have no idea about the salary on a US nuclear sub, but I definitely know that I don't want to work on those subs.

@8stewiegriffin Yes, you can get used to almost anything. :-/
Thanks very much for this.
@rasosteva For about 2 months I was lucky to live on deck one. Those cabins belong to another category...
@Sunshine9teen Szia! Nem, mar nem ott dolgozom.
Nice room!
@krisztiansere thank you, i have always smile on face :D :)
Hey GianMarco i remember you...i´m the latin band drummer from Peru..lol lol
THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT "QUARTERS"> IT'S 1/4 the size it should be. It's only for sleeping & storage though. I lived on 4 different ships. As a croupier , all I did was work & sleep. Then it's back to work and if your lucky, you can get some sleep. If you have to make time for eating & doing your laundry, you can FORGET the sleep.............. Sometimes, I was lucky enough to be awake & take some time for the beach!!!
Are you still working with them?
Not any more.
Deck 0,A,B, or C?
@petar139 Yes, but actually I just inherited the cabin from one of my college who were able to arrange virtually everything. :) So the cabin was equipped with this extra just because of her. :)
But you made me laugh with this comment. Thanks! :)
step 1

This program is NEOBUX
@dukyluky No, thanks. I don't wanna try that! :)
Hűha!!! Én folyami hajón dolgoztam egy rövid ideig. Ott a "szoba" kb mint ez, de annyival rosszabb, hogy az asztal helyett még egy ágy volt. 3an egy ekkorka lyukban. Észbontó!!! :(
@jhenelle88 for a holiday not to work there i might get sea sick
Very hard way to live but I understand that the income is worth it to most of them.
Ana Mancini
look on the bright side. this is luxury compared to what a navy sailor gets.
everyone complains about the crew space on cruise ships....should try working/living on a submarine!
@greenkeenreviews Nothing really. Dancers have good life on ships as far as I can decide. Once they learn the choreography they just have to enjoy the shows and the ports. :) Good luck to him!
What language do you speak?
Russian I think
Hungarian. :)
oh sorry :)
I like how this is in English like the music
Crew cabin?.... no no.. Staff cabin... crew cabins are a bit smaller with shared bathroom between two cabins on ships like Victory...
do you have to pay rent?
+sirgigglez No.
do they ever get a day off? or is it 7 days a week 14hrs + ? I would like to work as a galley steward.
+sirgigglez Usually you work 7 days a week. The working hours vary, but approx. 9-13 hours ib avarage. That is one of the hardest job on ships. Consider it twice! :)
+sirgigglez
wtf
Heyyy.....your cabin wasn´t the smallest i can see you are STAFF not CREW....staff cabins are so much bigger and have private toilett.....Crew cabins like mine had no space for 2 people standing ! and toiletts are shared with next room!..Excuse me?
