    Gotta love the sound of that tailgate banging off the dump body right after a unload

    Loved the way the skidsteer scurried back and forth spreading out that fill. Like a busy little beetle getting job well done.

      That skidshitter risked his life and the licenses of those drivers. Never operate around a backing truck never mind one that is dumping! He's got all day to spread that when the trucks go for another load!

    You are definitely in tune with your machine, good operating. I've been in the pit waiting to load and the loader is off somewhere else moving material, by the time he shows up all the trucks are waiting to load. Got to get empty to haul to the next customer, beats sitting there with no material to work with. Keep up the good work!

    Sorry folks but a big loader wouldn't do any better since they take so much room to maneuver. I have experience with trying to use a loader to spread rock in a small area, it doesn't take long to turn into Austin Powers pulling a u-turn in a narrow hallway.

    In Italy we had the same prob. I was building a new state road in North Italy, there were 24 trucks that were transporting gravel from a quarry 14 km far. The excavator had a timing of 2 minutes for truck loading. They was coming to the dozer 12 a time. I was curious,I stalked a truck from a distance, there was at half the trail a little road on the right among the trees,beyond the trees a small van-cafe in the van a pretty blonde girl who was making coffee. Trucks were all around as a circle of wagons. All of them just to watch the blonde
    .Now I console myself, not just the Italian drivers

    But it's so much fun to convoy these dump trucks !! I was always conscious of this , but the bosses son wanted us to convoy for what ever reason,But even when we waited for him,he still funked us up,so I just left him settin.

    Wouldn't think that they would all come at the same time because their may not be enough dumping space

  • @kanisohana
    @kanisohana 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The reason they all come at the same time is because truckers all like to eat lunch together then show up at the job with 5 fully loaded trucks. Then they all leave and you have to wait around for 2 hours doing nothing.

  • @SledgeHammer43

    It looks like all the drivers stopped somewhere for a coffee break together. I use to drive and that's what would happen. I hated it as a equipment operator. But the operator of the compactor looks to be doing a decent job seems to be getting good compaction. If I was you I would ask those drivers to try to keep some distance so you have time to work between the trucks.

    Whats the purpose of a studded compacter?

    • @transam1995lt1
      @transam1995lt1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If I am not mistaken, it pushes deeper for a tighter pack than a standard compactor. Kind of like filling in a post hole, if you fill the hole up and use a flat plate to press you will still be able to move the post. But fill the hole 1/4 way use the shovel handle to push everything tight and repeat until full. It will be like concrete.

    Hi , Is there a "marriage law or clause " on delivery trucks in your area letsdig18 ? But, there could be a reason in the handling of the material in the fast dumping style?. This comment is NOT knocking you in anyway. I know it is extremely easy to be an "armchair operator" I have had time in the seat since 1972 , retired in after disability of the back and Rheumatoid arthritis. Mid 90's I think.
    Letsdig18, I have been viewing your videos for close to a year now. I appreciate your ability to operate the equipment very well, also you seem to have a fair amount of engineering from schooling.Or, maybe you got your engineering knowledge from O.J.T..
    I appreciate your posts ,Thanks, God Bless to you and all on your job. Banjo Greg.

    I seen that happen multiple times at different construction sites that I have attended it makes for nice recording when you're doing audio but it kind of sucks for the operator though I don't really see that as a fiasco I just see that is a coincidence more or less

    You need a smooth barrel drum packer

      Sheeps-foot rollers compact better. Smooth drum rollers work best fro prepping something like asphalt/concrete etc, where the end product needs to be smooth

      All pneumatic packers have to be revved up to make the Vibratory work properly! If you Idle it back the whole Machine will bounce off the ground!
