Fun fact: A bunch of the owner went to prison for tax evasion. The Bensalem location also "accidentally" burn down, but based on the timing and all the shady things going on, many believe the owners themselves burnt it down to cover up evidence. Leo burger and milkshakes were my jam

Medium rare for filet mignon is best . If you order a well done steak the cook is giving you a lesser cut . Save the best for rare and medium rare

Check out Stewart’s Root-beer in Vineland, NJ. Throw back drive-in with car hop service. Get the Tuna Ry.. it’s a classic. Shakes are great, amazing root beer & Black Cherry soda in a frosty mug.
I have visited the Folsom location many times for a reason. They have my favorites and it's oh so good. 👍🏻

Cheese fries are so good and they are not stingy with that cheese too !! I'm with you, a filet shouldn't be on a sandwich like that. A Country Fried Steak or a cheesesteak is a different story. I love the vintage level of that restaurant, looks like a cool spot ❤

The filet mignon dose not have any fat to give it flavor for a burger they should use a ground rib eye or even the filet but grind it and add some fat to it

I grew up on Nifty Fifties. Their cheese fries, especially with the spice, are the best. Their burgers are good but some of their sandwiches are miss.

Also the filet mignon sandwich is a bad rip off of the cheaper strip loin sandwich. It should be a whole 6oz strip loin steak on a short hoagie roll, cut in half and served with beef au jus on the side. Use to be a cheap classic at bars around the delco area. A yeungling and a striploin steak sandwich for 10$ was my go too happy hour meal on a Friday. Don’t see it around so much any more. The Ale House in Broomall, Pa still servers one I think.

When I lived in Williamstown, I used to go here with my ex gf quite often. Then, I just started feeling like everything had that same-y processed cheese and over used fry oil taste and it reached a point that I just never went back. I do miss some of the food, but after eating it a number of times, it just felt wrong to put it in my body anymore.
I was born in 1951 making me 72.The fifty fans( if alive) are working on being 80. That “trend” still go on country wide.Fillet,uh uh. Only in dinner clubs.Back to the basic burger.Old fashioned shakes.Thats the stuff that lasts for decades to come

Rhode Island has the best coney put we call them wiener go to Rhode Island at this restaurant call Olneyville New York Systiem its they best wiener and they have Coffee milk its are statebowl so come on try it and we have other things to like Greek pizza and lots of bakery that has food and bake goodies and seafood

Yes dear. You’re not missing nothing. JL knows The South Philly location was the bomb in the early 90’s,🎉until they left for SJ. As all things it came to an end with gentrification . How old were you JL then? I’ve been to this SJ location, it was similar but no where close to delicious as the old South Philly location . That’s in the quality of ingredients and taste. The mignon sandwich, Italian wedding soup , etc., everything back then was delicious.
Why did they move to NJ? The older generation were always going to SJ for vacation and eventually moved to SJ as gentrification started in the 80’s., Many homeowners still kept their city homes if they could and rented them. New construction during that time in SJ (1980’s up to now ) lured SP residents there. I’m sorry if you were disappointed JL. I thought you reminisced about Nifty Fifties SP years ago. You and the Wifey are so cute with her and your children on the family outings and getting a bite to eat . Keep up your great work especially showing small family businesses in the area that you check out per your subscribers as well as ones you curious about. Filet mignon is SO overrated!!! Super tender sure!! Yet not much flavor!…New York, Ribeye, even a sirloin has more flavor!… The only way to eat a filet mignon is to wrap it in bacon, it needs that fat!!!
They shouldn’t offer the filet mignon sandwich if they’re going to over cook the meat and make it unpalatable
